Yeah I loved it. It's different from Meadows usual cause there's no real dark turn, but it's a nice way to spend an hour and a halfComment

Couple of obvious ones missed out so far, no introductions needed...
and
and while on the subject, Jabberwocky
and the Time Bandits
Not a comedy, but it is to all of our shame that this one hasn't been mentioned yet. Best British film of them all, Zulu

also could talk about his boxing move 24 7 - with the excellent Bob Hoskins in it. Better than Raging Bull IMHO - but then i am obsessed about Meadows

fantastic choices there Jebus. Meadows has to be up there with the top british writer/directors.
ill add in another meadows film - Paddy Considine is just brilliant in it. Seriously underrated actor.
Dead Man's Shoes
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.Comment

Yeah a big Meadows fan m too. Was reading somewhere recently that he is planning to do a TV series follow up to This is England. Meant to a be based four years after the film (1986) as Shaun is leaving school.54 Crew-Finn Harps FC Supporters Club

Another one that is a good few years old now, Cant remember the name of it but its where Rhys Ifans, the welsh actor plays a wino who gets accused of kidnapping a little girl and is jailed for it even though he is innocent. The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.Comment

Can anyone help me?
I'm looking for a fairly recent English film but can't for the life of me think of the title. It's about a black kid that gets adopted by a middle-class white English family and as he grows older he gets involved in a gang or a football firm. At least that's what I got from the trailer.Extratime.ie

That's the one, thanks.
Another English film I really like is Bronson, mainly for Tom Hardy's performance. As a film, it's a bit disjointed and non-linear.
