Lads I'm 100% behind old legs on this.

Anyone working behind the scenes at clubs will tell you its not feasible.

If you had 5 astro pitches available exclusively to the Aul then fair enough but all the pitches mentioned have lots of teams to accommodate on them before they think about any outsiders coming in.

We were recently quoted 250 euro for renting a pitch!!!!

Once you include ref fee that's 300 for 1 game.

        Never going to happen

The aul should approach the owners of these AstroTurfs and try reach an agreement. Possibly provisionally book pitches at certain times and also contribute to the fee. They have enough funds. If all parties are informed well in advance there should be no issue!Something has to be done because the way the whole aul is ran now is a joke

Reach an agreement how?? There's only suggestions but no ideas with substance on this.
Smacks of lads who have no idea how clubs work but have plenty of "ideas".
Theorys great but does not always work.

They could get Bob the builder to build it for them. There was lads commenting about the AUL team jersey few weeks back. No way would they build a complex kid. Like I said the games will be played in December or April

are you sick build a aul complex lol. They wouldn't spend 7 are 800 on new gear for the aul squad the gear is there since the 80s. The aul are a joke all they want the money for is drink. Something needs to be done.

Don't know what they do with the money, there not going to be anything done. Same every year, teams should just concentrate on staying fit for when the weather gets better.

I'd love to see a Cork aul complex but I can't see it happening I don't think the resources are their to fund it . For example let's take Dublin their aul complex played up their etc fine pitches Astros and club house bar etc a real credit to the Dublin Aul. But they needed to be bailed out as couldn't run it ( stand to be corrected on this ) and that's Dublin with a population of nearly 5 times of Cork . You'd probably be looking at an investment in region of 2.5mlion to 3 million for a complex in Cork where would that money come from ?? fAi ?? They are under financial strain themselves the Government ??? Don't think so maybe the local council ??? Aul might get land possible but still have to develope it so still require Large sums of money. Maybe the Aul could finance it themselves through a loan so say they need 1.5 million to do a proper job astro club house sand based pitches car parking lights etc so let's say they need 1.5 million they might be lucky and get 500000 in funding that leaves 1 million to get from banks which charge interest and max term for something like this would be 15 years ( involved with club so I know how banks work with clubs etc they look at them as business loans with carry max term 15 years ) so now we have a wonderful state of the art complex say 3 full size sand based pitches and a full size astro with lights and of course a club house . That 1million has to be paid back you would be looking at payments monthly of 8000 euros . Where would that come from every month for 15 years that's a lot of money . Would any organisation but themselves under that much pressure ?? Would any business put themselves under that pressure ( figures are rough so if your going to attack me over the figures please provide correct figures to do all that work and repayment figures too I'm pretty close with them but always one smart Alex out there )

My point isn't in regards to maths its in regards to logic and common sense . We can all dream and wish for things etc but when you sit down and really think about what you need to achieve them dreams that's when common sense comes in .

I suppose I was dreaming too when I hoped the AUL would do something about the game fixtures from November to February or the lack there of I should say.
