What was the thinking behind that ? From a non expert perspective, we desperately need somebody to play with Sammo that has an offensive threat and to let Sammi drop "into the hole" a la Sheringham.

Any game that I've seen Bogdan play upfront (only twice though) he has been quiet. He seems more suited to the wing.

I don't think Sammo is creative or intelligent enough to play "in the hole". He is a great link-up player when he gets the ball to his feet and has a good first touch and technique. The best way to play with him is to keep the ball on the ground and use him as a target man, then let him hold up the ball. Finn would be an ideal partner for him IMO as he makes plenty of threathning, forwards runs but he is having a poor start to the season.

Yes, I found him playing at SC Astra Ploieşti during the 05-06 season.

Here's their last season results on rsssf. Knocked out in the fifth round of the Cup (the stage they entered) by a lower league team, and relegated from Divisia B Serie 2 (think it's like Division Two South). There seem to have been just three Divisions 2.

I notice as well that if you don't get x number of points in a season, you get docked points for the next year. Going to try and work that one out and it'll feature in a future match programme anyway. Might even ask Bogdan for a bit of help!

Oprea is a common enough surname in Romania. I told a Romanian friend of mine that we had a player called Opera from her country. Her response was'' I think you will find it is Oprea''.
