To be fair, this is the same for most teams at the moment. I would say that nearly all the teams in the Premier League are finding it difficult to get large numbers training twice a week, due to work committments, college etc. And it has been like that for some time now.
I agree with Zizu's head above about the difficulty teams in the Premier League have getting players to train 2-3 times a week. Town and Micahels have 3 teams ( Youths,A and B teams ) and if they are struggling to get 5-6 lads training I can only imagine what is going on in the other teams who only have an A team.
Most young lads are in college and don't have any interest in coming home after college to train when they can train with the college or go out on the beer. Older lads are all on shift work and others have families and stuff so I think all clubs have trouble nowadays getting lads training and it is affecting the TSDL. The Bridge had 16-17 lads training about 6 weeks ago and now they can barely get 8-10 lads. Teams and the TSDL are going to suffer big time in the future

What is there problem. Michaels, Villa, Cahir and Rosegreen have all played 7 games. Bridge and Bansha have palyed six. The reson Town have only played five games is that, the home game against Rock was called off due to Cyril Flaherty's death and Town played in the Munster Junior Cup Preliminary round last Sunday. Also out of there five league games, Town have played only one at home. That is hardly favouritism!!
I don't think it's about favouritism, just about the frustration of knowing that a team is going to have weeks during the season when they have no game to play, often 2 weeks in a row. This is no doubt as a result of the decision to play so many league games in the 1st 2 weeks of the season. Often, after the first 2 weeks, most teams will have 4 games played, 2 at the weekend and 2 mid-week!! The mid-week games are crazy at Junior level; most people are working or away at college during the week and to schedule games for Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday nights is madness, as most teams are forced to field understrength sides!

Thats fair enough but how is that "pandering to the big two"?

I wasn't really talking about "the big two"!
I was only talking about the Premier League as a whole and how the early pile up of fixtures ****s everyone up! ;)

Its all politics i can assure you if Town and Michaels had fully fit teams early in the season they would have played each other. There is people on both sides who can have a word in the ears of the officials of the TSDL. Id like to know who attends the League fixture draw!!

fairly predictable weekend fai wise, saints won 5-2 against north tipp opponents blackcastle, was at villa game 7-1 against clodagh rangers barry ryan got 5 and michael ryan 2,how did clonmel town go? is the draw made for next round? no ted o connor today for villa?
town scraped through on pens think it was 12-11. are they still missing players , the likes of aaron moroney ian fraher alan coady dont seem to be playing this year. where have all these players gone

barry ryan seems to be flying. form player in the league at the moment. come to think of it, who is the oscar traynor manager this year? would like to see ryan and paul kennedy paired upfront, might not be the strongest physically but 2 players certain to score goals.

i would agree about barry ryan,he is a player i always had doubts about, very tempermental but i was actually at the villa game as opposed to saints game as i went to see minor hurling game in thurles and his finishing was top drawer, what saints wouldnt give to have alan barry and paul kennedy together this season, kennedy is very clever for a small guy,his movement is excellent, would be an interesting partnership, will people give a commitment to oscar traynor and who is in charge?

Can't say I'd have Ryan ahead of a fit Moroney or O'Connor. Those two will score goals....against ALL types of opposition

im not a huge fan of north tipp but i must say that nenagh celtic seem to be theexception to the rule. any time i have come across them be it in youths or junior they seem to have the right approach and attitude to the game. they like to play football so should be a good game. clonmel have a good mix this year

North Tipp soccer is poor alright but their is a couple of teams up here that try to play the right way.We have great respect for south teams and enjoy playing down, had some great games with clonmel over the years they seem to be going well again this year, great side.

Clonmel Youths are only a shadow of the team they had last year. They are in a spot of bother with the league over playing a player who wasnt on the refs card V Killenaule!
To give them credit they are still unbeaten this season they beat Tramore recently in the Munster on penalties. They have been struggling recently but manage to win games late on and are keeping clean sheets so they are doing something right.
Make sure ye play for the 90 mins and dont switch off or ye will be in trouble!!:D

Don't know but their results are good, mind you the standard is ****e. Also they got rid of Chris Regan as manager and gave the job to Jamie O'Flaherty, can't see that working but time will tell

Ya; Saints beaten by Old Bridge in the league and missed the chance to go top.
Surely too many dropped points at this stage to be in with a shout of winning it.
Peake may even finish above them.

Great result for Old Bridge on Sunday beating Michaels 3-1, fully deserved win and to be honest it should have been more. Bridge played good formation and hounded Breen and Chawky the whole game so they couldn't play ball out of defense. Poor midfield for Michaels missed Davy Ryans magic and up front showed nothing to threaten Bridge's stand in keeper.
Can't believe nobody from Old Bridge is in TSDL squad after 2 great results in 2 weeks, up to 5th in table and only 3pts behind Town and Celtic.
It's usual same old story with TSDL squad there is some "click" going on there. Michael's have been very poor this year and Town have barely played any games but they both still dominate the TSDL team.
Why didn't Town play on Sunday again? They are 4 games behind everyone else which is a disgrace, just shows they can do what they want as usual. Title is theirs now again after Bridge's win at weekend. Anyone agree?

wouldn't have an opinion on this as i'm involved in the limerick junior scene.

the munster junior cup draw sees clonmel town and peake villa playing each other

great result for oldbridge, wasnt at the game but talked to couple of the lads and nobody argued that it wasnt deserved, alan getting sent off didnt help and those who say the refs always favour saints were wrong for once by all accounts,as for oscar traynor im not sure who exactly with the bridge is good enough?? seems to be more of a collective effort,in terms of who is in the squad i think its right that it should be large saints and clonmel squad, both are the dominant force and thats reality with all league squads, however i am very surprised barry ryan of peake not involved, usually a regular and has dominated the nationalist in recent weeks, also surprised cosgrave not involved,as talented as any other midfielder in the squad, both guys would not win a popularity contest however:)

Sorry Pearoso whoever you are, I think Old Bridge are allowed to blow their own trumpet is they want. If anyone else beat Town or Michaels they would do the same. It is very rare it happens so think they are allowed enjoy it, it is good for the league that this happens every now and again. Do you want the same old boring league every year??
Just to inform you that the result on Sunday is Old Bridge's 2nd win in the league in a row after beaten Bansha last week 5-2 away from home as well.
Bridge will stay up and will prob even finish 5th.

My point is there is no reference to your win over Bansha or do those points count for less? Your only blowing your trumpet because you beat one of the top two. We wont hear about any other victories if you manage any that is. What was the score in the home leg or do you remember??
And by the way you know who i am as well as i know who you are, you were the bloke that kicked the ball about 10 times into the stand in the home leg.
Best of luck for the season you will need it!!
