A bit early but the speculation has started so post what you've heard about upcoming LOI transfers.

Fahrudin Kudozovic to Cork, Drogs or Huddersfield Town.
Seamus Coleman to anyone in UK really.

Barry Cogan[Currently at Gillingham, former Millwall] to Sligo Rovers.

Paddy McCourt (To West Brom)

Only rumour I heard to come in is Ken Oman. Probably a load of rubbish but rumour is he fell out with Fenlon and is coming back in July. I dont believe it though

Former England prospect Matt Jansen is hawking himself around a few eL clubs, Galway look most likely to bite.

Franco Georgescu likely to be leaving Bray on loan or permanently, he may join Sligo as a short-term replacement if Faz leaves.

There was talk of Dundalk's Ben Whelehan joining Cork on a short-term deal but that seems to have died out in the past week or so.

Jesus, Jansen was a terrific player before his accident. Wonder if he's anywhere near his best. Would be an interesting one to say the least.

Matt Jansen would be a very exciting signing. I didn't realise he was still playing.

There could be some Balkan tensions in Sligo if Faz and Georgescu are playing together! :)

Healy, Gamble and McCourt to Pats was in the Herald recently. Healy going to Hearts and meant to have agreed conditions, looking for a house over there etc. Gamble in talk with new contract at City though. And McCourt i dunno. Shame if these three dont stay in the league.

There is no way Paddy will go to Pats.

The BBC say that 2 English Premier league clubs (one being West Brom) are after him, and some Championship sides, as well as Dundee United. Don't think he would leave us for another Irish team anyway.

West Brom (presumably) have already had an offer declined by the Derry Board. Apparently it was 'derisory'. Good to see the board is holding out for a bit of cash. God know's we'll need it to replace him.

stg80k i heard (and west ham i heard are the others). Not sure if he would cut it in the premiership. He drifts in and out of too many eL games from what ive seen... though dont get me wrong he is an excellent player.

I don't think anyone knows 100% for sure what was offered, it now ranges from 80K up as far as 200K.

But as pol said, there may be as much as a 6 way bidding war about to start here, 2 EPL sides, 2 Championship and I think 2 SPL. So with a bit of luck that might offset (a bit) the fact that we have no other bargaining chip.

Healy to Hearts is a very strong rumour doing the rounds alight.
Joey Gamble looks safe though.

Well as its a rumours thread here goes: WBA, Wigan, Hull, Sheffield Weds, Dundee Utd. Knowing that there is interest, it makes sense to knock back the first bid.

It would make sense, weren't Jansen and Kenna at Blackburn together?

I don't know what to think about Jansen. I never thought he was that great before the accident. Haven't a clue what he's like now.

Franco Georgescu likely to be leaving Bray on loan or permanently, he may join Sligo as a short-term replacement if Faz leaves.
This is a disgrace if it happens. Franco is our best striker. When he plays he is our biggest goal threat. The fans love him and the real reason behind him not playing has to do with him and Eddie not getting on. I was surprised that he signed a new contract (two-year) in the winter.

AFAIK, he's coming back from injury. He played pretty well in the A team game against Pats last week. I hope he stays but Iw ouldn't be surprised if he goes.

I think Franco is class, I'm surprised Gormley is the type of manager to fall out with creative players because he was often enough on the other side of that divide in his playing days.

I wouldn't be too concerned about him leaving imminently, it's one of those domino-effect rumours (i.e., he might go IF Faz leaves and IF Bray identify someone to replace him.) Drogheda were interested just over a year ago but his lack of games at Bray has counted against him in the eyes of the bigger clubs.

superfrank
20/05/2008, 12:49 PM
Yeah, he had a trial with Drogs before the 2006 season and he was linked with Bohs for a lot of last season.

Never surprises me how many rumours circulate about players in last 6 months of the their contracts. I suppose Agents have to earn their crusts some how.

he is .. a big disappointment for us this year.. him and alan lynch turned up drunk for training last week.. daire was dropped for one game and came on as sub at waterfords game... a poor example to give... heard a few others ransacked a hotel room in mullingar..

so the spirit is not as good as I thought it would be..:(

Is Doyle out of contract marty? I thought it ran til end of season?

With Healy getting hitched last weekend maybe a move is possible - he is still in contract isnt he so a fee would be involved?

Pats would have to stump up a fee for Gamble so its unlikely I think - plus he said a few weeks ago a new contract was nearly sorted

It will be interesting to see who Bohs bring in

How old is Gamble? Unless he's Under 24 then Pats wouldn't have to pay any fee for him at the end of this season.

In fairness Gormley was also a hard ****. can't ever remember him shirking a tackle. But I'm slightly biased when it comes to Eddie...

Yeah read that Kerr and McDonnell were at your game the other night. Can't see how he's improved so much since his last time here

Yeh you're right Dodge. He must be worse now. How could a player improve as time goes by through regular football?? It's impossible

Raheny Red
21/05/2008, 10:04 AM
Yeah last night was their second time in Tolka this season apparently looking at him. Thankfully he wasn't too convincing. His work rate alone deserves him a place in the top flight...

John Gill must be regretting letting him go now (not that he'd admit it) - cost them promotion last season (make no mistake, Dundalk were one-dimensional and easier to defend against after he left (although Shaun Williams' injury had an impact also) and now his goals for Shelbourne could cost Dundalk promotion this season.

Relax ffs

Of course he'll have improved. I was questioning whether he's improved enough...

In fairness to Dodge, Pats let both Philip Hughes and Philip Sheppard go and they both went on to score bagfuls of goals in Division 1, but neither is good enough for a title challenging premier side. So it's not just a matter of improvement, but also of finding their level.
Flood I would rate higher than Hughes or Sheppard mind you.

Flood has improved at a crazy rate since he came to us. Think Keely had found a way to get the best out of him. I'm not convinced he can bang the goals in in the PD either but hopefully we'll find out next season :)
