As been said in the last few posts.

Facilities is a big deal here. For instance Linfield bring a fair away support but quite often we are restricted and there are many people left behind. If we had greater capacities and greater facilities we would be able to have larger crowds and safer enviroments.

I'm singling out Linfield here because that is my club and I'm only really concerned in my clubs well being.

I'm sorry - but I just don't get this whole irrational fear.

What did you think would happen - Linfield fans with machine gun posts on top of the stands ? Seriously - what did you think would happen that was worth you consciously keeping people away from the game...?

Both sets of fans leaving onto the same road at the same time is dangerous, Pats and the police have ****ed it up before and led to certain away fans being able to get at the home fans quite easily. So noone gonna take a chance and bring kids.

After the 5-0 certain fans charged down the street attacking anyone with a pats top on (http://youtube.com/watch?v=jmXxGxxbT7U)

Vs Glens this lot werent even at the game but we let out together so 2 sets of fans and this lot on same street. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=0VRtUjC6VBI)

Its not irrational, its common sense dont put your kids safety into someone thats proven to be incompetent hands.

Edit just for DCFCsteve http://youtube.com/watch?v=MXWKEE_LMh0 this is what SHOULD happen at every football match ;)

This is from Mark McGuinness who writes a number of pieces for the Star every Sunday.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK:

Take a good look at the snarling, bloody face of the Linfield fan being dragged away by Gardaí in Inchicore. And the Connacht supporter hospitalised after having his head kicked in by thugs in Belfast. Now do you REALLY still think an All-Ireland Football League is a good idea? Didn't think so.

 that is shocking that he comes to that conclusion from two Linfield fans fighting with one another and a rugger fan getting a hiding.

You can e-mail him at: mark.mcguinness@thestar.ie

I don't know anything about the rugby incident, but isn't it interesting that this didn't lead him to conclude that the all ireland rugby competition should be scrapped. Clown.

Always thought he was a clown. Major premiership head/journo. Rarely comments on the LOI but when he does its negative.

An impressive 800 or more Linfield fans made the rare trip south to Dublin Tuesday, 15 April, and although the Setanta Sports Cup clash went according to plan for St Patrick's Athletic on and off the pitch, you wouldn't have thought so by the sensationalist coverage that made the following day's newspapers.
