He claims to have a special trick to motivate the players at half time and get them up for the second half, he gives them all haand shaandies in the changing rooms.

Id give him the job simply on the basis that hes good for chant material.
1) Haans up, baby, haans up...
2) Haans up for the Boys in Green
3) Arie all very quiet over there...
4) Haans that do dishes are as soft as your face, with mild green 'Arie liquid (theres a joke in there too)

I heard his RTE interview again, he is very fluent in English just with a heavy Dutch accent.
He believes he can retrieve (from the ashes) the remnants of what he admires about our team and apply some some Dutch technique to our play.
I´d advise him to keep it very simple for the Dublin lads.
Ya exactly geysir, his fluent english might confuse them ;)
BTW where is the interview with him on rte. post the link please.

Arie Haan, if you are reading this please contact your boss
From finding old friends that you have lost contact with to meeting the mate of your dreams, this little thing called the Internet has a power to bring people together. Today, we are hoping that we can help reunite manager Arie Haan with the country whose national team he is supposedly managing. The good folks who run Cameroon’s football association haven’t heard from Haan in two months and they are a bit concerned.
“It’s two months since Mr Haan left the country,” FECAFOOT general Mmnager Jean Lambert Nang told a news conference.
“I don’t know where Mr Haan is. The last time I got in touch with him was on the Internet. Since I’ve tried to contact him in vain … Nobody in FECAFOOT knows where he is,” Nang said.
Arie. Please, do us all a favor and give your boss a call or get in touch with him on the Internet so he can stop worrying about your welfare
God speed to you, Arie, and thanks for reading...

what the point in posting the cameroon fa spin???
they sound worst than our lot
real story
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/6324519.stm
"Everybody at the federation is interfering especially the president, therefore there is no need for me to stay on. The Dutchman was unhappy about next Wednesday's friendly against Togo, which he said was organised without his knowledge.
"They did not respect my wishes for the friendly against Togo as all the preparations were done without my approval," Haan said.
"I should be organising the matches for the national team not the federation.
Haan was also furious over his exclusion from the central African country's delegation for the African Youth Championship in Congo.
"I wanted to go to the Africa under-20 tournament in Congo to monitor some of the young players for the national team but they refused.

Lds the first few were funny butthis was posted as a serious attempt to highlight what could be the best option we have by miles. Can we get this back on topic and discuss the merits or otherwise of Mr Haan

Is BEBO closed down today?
Why, because people decide to lighten the board up a little?
Anyway, back on topic, he does have serious credentials, the best of a bad lot so far, If only Foppe De Haan didnt want to leave Holland, then he would be even more ideal (http://goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=495189).
I think the Dutch technical game incorporated with what we got could realy be good.

Yawn Yawn Yawn the 'jokes' are cr*p. Is this the person we want in charge of us or not?
One thing I would say in regard to the Cameroon situation. How many problems to various African countries seem to have with their coaches. They get through them almost monthly, especially European ones. It seems they are unwilling to give some of them the respect and credit they deserve.

I did a google search to check up on Mark Mullan, Haan's agent. I didn't find much but his contact details are here. I'm not convinced by Haan but he should be interviewed.

He got a team to the Eufa cup final (like MON). He got a team to the European cup semi-final (like O'Leary). Was a top player. Has managed in different countries so knows the types of players and systems we will be playing against.

Whatever you do Noely, don´t put a curse on Haan by sticking a tenner on him at 66/1.

Not this time Geysir. No Bet So as not to ruin Haan's chances. I used to live in Holland and Haan is widely respected there as a top coach. If Delaney called up Hiddink for advice I'm sure Haan's name would be near the top of his list.

It played okay Tets, thanks a lot.
He hasn´t seen us since 2002 so who has? unless they were paid to do so.
Said something about holding onto the old players too long then you have a problem with the new players.
He wouldn´t be afraid to pull the plug.
I´d say he would have to do a good interview in order to be taken seriously

It's only one interview and a bit of net searching, but I like the vibe off this guy.
Sadly, I fear the next we hear from him will be in a Newstalk "where did they go wrong?" vox-pop interview after Venables mucks up his first game in charge of Ireland (a hastily arranged friendly against a Singapore XI, played in Liechtenstein for tax purposes - 3-0 to Singapore), having skipped a weeks training to finish shooting "Celebrity place in the sun" for Sky Living 3 +1.
