Great series and know all the locations as I used to live in Jersey City and used to work in South Kearny NJ. Watched "Christopher" getting "shot" outside the real Skyway diner. And funnily enough the building next to the diner is owned by the real thing aka Gambino's!

Last night's episode was cr+p. Just a focus on disease (again) with Junior and a pretty meaningless trip for Tony and Paulie :(
Hope it starts to pick up soon.
Does anyone know if last night show is repeated on RTE during the week? Saw it myself but I'm ment to be taping it for my Sis in Belfast and something went wrong with the VCR last night had to take it in to be fixed today.

a pretty meaningless trip for Tony and Paulie :(
And such teasing too. I was just waiting for Tony to knock Paulie off the side of the boat.
I liked Junior's jokes though.

I thought it was a good episodes although with only 3 left obviously would be looking for some more action. Lots of glances from Tony, will he, won't he & then that look at the end where its clear he wishes he had. :D
With only a few episodes left seems like it will go out with a wimper...?

Its at home waiting for me.

Will be watching it in about 20 minutes.
For some reason I thought only 3 episodes left on RTE which is why I thought going out with a wimper. Since there so many left easier to download now...

Just giving out a warning to any Sopranos fan that is watching it on RTE not to read the Mirror today as they give away the ending without warning you that the article is a spoiler, abolute *******s!

But other than that and Junior's jokes, the programme was pretty much aimless with no theme and unconnected to everything else.
Morbid fascination with illness and old age in the last couple of episodes.

Has someone told Bob Geldof & Bono?
Such an outrage needs global attention! I have heard that Bono is fond of the mirror though.

Depressing episode last night. Love though where Tony tells the leggy shrink "I am a nice guy" as he removes the tooth from the fold of his trousers :D.

Great show sad its over, but 100% agree with the above kept watching the credits as I thought something else was going to happen.

I wavered between "effing rte" and "dammit that's it" several times before the credits appeared. I thought we were going to end with a gun to Tony's head.
maybe it did?
Sopranos never did expected...

So disappointing the way it ended, I too was hoping for at least a gunshot or at best a great ending like in " State of Grace".
In fact the ending was bull**** , maybe he chocked on the onion ring that he popped in his mouth.:mad:

Agree with you though...it was an excellent way to end the show, but I do reckon there's a movie coming to put some finality to it all. Loads of issues there still to be dealt with .... Melfi's rape for example. I could never figure out why that happened when there was not going to be retribution. The whole Junior and where he hid his money thing...What happens Syl...There's major resentment there with Janice...Paulie and his near betrayal with Johnny Sack... how the imminent case against him will go.
I reckon we could have a movie starting with a funeral...possibly Meadow's after she took a bullet intended for Tony whilst coming in to the restaurant or something...

Superb stuff - delighted I pretty much managed to avoid all spoilers (had to avoid all newspapers and most of the Internets for a while though :))
So what were the stories in the Mirror/Herald that gave away some of the plot:confused:
Dodge
20/07/2007, 10:49 AM
But the whole point of that ending is that there are always going to be stories that don't have an ending. Listen to the Journey lyrics... "Some will win, Some will lose... but the movie goes on and on and on.."
I watched it a few weeks ago and then read all manner of ****e from US fans who were crying that there wasn't a mass bloodfest. Teenagers mostly. Chase is making the point that with real life gangsters (and real life people), some **** has a final definite answer, some **** doesn't. Tony has to live his life checking out everybody in a****ty restaurent thinking that anyone of them could be coming to kill him for all that unfinished business...

Yes, interesting ending. Did the blank screen mean Tony was shot. Was Meadow, after her foostering with the parking of her car, going to come in on a hit? Was the guy at the bar going to hit Tony etc etc?
Plenty room for more Sopranos. Yes please, the door is still open.
My favourite character: Ritchie Aprile. What a scumbag.

Surely there's a spin-off on the way involving Paulie and the cat. I can see some fantastic adventures for them.

Cracking endng to the show, and I for one hope they leave it at that, can't stand the whinging about there not being a bloodfest, surely they did enough in the second last episode to satisfy that bloodlust?
Personally I don't think the guy at the bar, or the two black guys who came into the place were going to kill Tony. I thought the whole thing was to show you how Tony's life is now going to be always watching his back, always being tense, and in a way we shared that tension didn't we? Being nervous about the guy at the bar, thinking the two black guys might kill him (nice way to show our inner prejudice too), and worrying for Meadow's safety. The ending brought us into the character perfectly, the way his life has turned out, and the way it will probably go should he not be killed, i.e. Junior. I always thought that Junior's story acted as a way of showing us what will happen to Tony if he doesn't die, that once he gets old he will get put out to pasture

Don't forget the much-criticised coma dream at the start of the season - "Tony" is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers...

Yeah, im still undecided, it was a clever ending, chase really lets the viewer decide in their own mind what happened. Does the guy at the bar kill him, or meadow by accident, who knows...I was annyoyed at the sense that there wasnt a definite ending, as i have followed it religiously from season 1...but as I said probably better off that way?

Also, once again brilliant use of music, as has been the way throughout the series. The stand out last night 'It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) when AJ and the girl are in the jeep. My favourite use of music, in any TV show or film, is Tiny Tears by Tindersticks in Season 1 or 2 (can't remember which), when Tony is going through a huge breakdown, as good as it gets.

Last night was probably the defining TV moment of my generation, up there with the Moon Landing and Who Shot JR? for older generations.
I know loadsa people my age were watching it and within minutes I had people asking me did I watch it, etc.
As for the show, the ending was very smart, if not somewhat annoying. I honestly think the only way to end that show would've been something more definitive. Now I'll being second-guessing everything for ages but with so many characters gone now it'll be hard to pick it up again.
My favourite character was easily Paulie. The cat thing was just another example of what he's all about. Though the best incident with him was when he and Chrissy got lost in the woods and spent the night in a van. Classic stuff.
