hi all
can someone post when they actually receive their tickets as I'm a bit nervous over here in the uk about them arriving on time. I usually get fai mail about a week after everyone else
also I emailed them and they said the tickets would go out 2-3 weeks before the game- fair enough but I'm still a tad worried- more about the postal service than the FAI in this instance
thanks

There is some combination - The FAI and The postal Service. What could possibly go wrong;)

Have to be fair and say my tickets have always turned up well in advance. No harm in them holding onto the tickets for another week or so in my eyes, it'll hamper people who wish to sell them on ebay etc.

There were 2 tickets for the Wales match on ebay yesterday , i had bid on them (getting desperate for a pair of tickets for me and the child ) , got an e-mail from e-bay this morning saying they had been removed from auction by e-bay due to violation of terms of ebays policy
Good enough too , one tout offered to sell me 2 tickets for 1000 euro...madness and totally unfair..

I understand your desperation regarding tickets. However thats good news from ebay. Have you put your name on the wales/slovakia waiting lists on the sites. It aint too big at the moment so you might have a good chance of getting a ticket.

cheers reder for you giving me a small bit of hope , yeah i have stuck my name down for 2 on the waiting list for each match, trying my best to try and get them through work contacts , wont give up the hunt until the matches kick off, even if it means outside croker with me and the child with signs round our neck saying "tickets needed ", surely somebody would take pity on myself and a 7 year old son, have to practise with him to look convincing with a despearate face :)

Jayzus, the postmen (even ones with x-ray eyes that can see into envelopes) are not going to rob anyones tickets.

But money gone off credit card, so expect them this week.
I'm sure there will be plenty available if you put name down on waiting list.

I have block booked tickets for the whole of this Euro campaign through Shelbourne F.C as I have done so for the last 5 qualification campaigns.
Still haven't got the tickets and have been trying to contact 3 Shelbourne numbers since Friday to confirm my allocation for the next 2 games with no luck. Onn Friday I also rang the F.A.I who finally returned my call today.
The girl at the end of the phone told me that Shelbourne have yet to apply for their allocation of tickets and that was all she could tell me. Looks like another Shelbourne farce.
So I still don't know what the story is withthe tickets.
Anyone else in the same situation?
Anyone know what's going on?

Anyone know what's going on?Allegedly, a certain individual associated with Shels ran up a bill of E250k with the FAI for international tickets and they are now creditors hoping for Ozzie Kilkenny to bail them out. I suspect you have been caught up in this.
Allegedly.

its just a pity you couldn't resist a low shot at a sick man :rolleyes:Okay then. You tell the Shels poster above why he isn't getting the Ireland tickets from Shelbourne FC as he usually does.
Just found out we got our block book tickets today too.
But, typical of the FAI, they didnt put our seats together!
Section is great, 306, so central, but they split the tickets into 2,2 and 1 (ie in different rows, good bit apart too). I know its not a big deal really, but it would be good to enjoy the games with your mates beside you, and especially as the guy who booked the tickets had to ring up to find out if he got the allocation asked about the seating allocation and was specifically told that all 5 would be together. He was told they sort it from the middle out and that if no room was available for 5 tickets together in one area, andother section would be found to put 5 tickets together.
Shouldnt expect anything less I suppose:( . Going to see if there is someone on their own in one of the rows of 2 to see if they'd swap for our single ticket, and advantage of it is that the single ticket is in row DD which is a better seat than the others we got.

Ok, OB was the official ticket agent for the FAI through Shelbourne FC, he's not a well man at all and it may have just slipped his mind

Am I right in assuming, with registered post, that if nobody is in the house when its delivered they'll leave a receipt and you have to collect it from the post office within 3 days.......in other words its time to phone the Mammy !

I think its 10 working days if the post originated in Ireland, 5 working days otherwise...the FAI hardly got them printed and posted from the UK or somewhere else....could they have?
No, that's just being too paronoid...
Tickets arrived yesterday:) . Three Hogan Stand tickets, 2 together and the other is in the next row 5 seats away.
Still waiting on mine to reach Athlone.
Friends in Dublin and Mullingar got theirs yesterday!

Got mine this morning too. I've had the same seats at lansdowne for years but they couldn't even find two seats together out of the entire 66k home allocation.
I really can't fathom this at all - plenty of other people seem to be in the same boat. How bloody hard can it be to find seats together for the original BB's first?? Fkg typical FAI crap!!!!!!
I have been block booked for the last 8 campaigns along with my father and brother. We have been sitting in practically the same 3 seats for the last 10 years and have taken up our allocation for every game (friendly or competitive) in that time.
Got our tickets for Wales and Slovakia yesterday - all seperate. Two at opposite ends of a row, another 20-odd rows back.
I cant understand how in an 80000 seater stadium, the FAI cant satisfy the ticket requests of loyal block bookers who were accomodated in a 35000 seater stadium.
If loyal block bookers cant get seats beside each other than who is getting them? I know of at least one mate who applied for these games, first time he's applied for any, and got 2 seats beside each other.
Now like everyone here, i've seen incompetence and a total lack of common sense from the FAI on numerous occaasions but this, for me is the ultimate insult. Anyone with even the most basic business knowledge knows that your loyal customers are your bread and butter, and you have to keep them happy..
Anyone else in the same boat??

I was pi**ed off when I received my allocation bacause they are for block 336which is right in the corner beside the Nally Stand. Due to the dimensions of the pitch this would mean being behind the end line looking across the pitch. Wasn't happy considering my tickets in Lansdowne Rd were right on the half way line and I have taken tickets for each game competitive and friendly since 2000.
Was going to write to FAI to tell them how I felt but my situation is perfect in comparison to footballplease and Corky. I cannot believe they split up people who have always sat together.
Three lads completely separate, you couldn't make it up. It smells badly of laziness, sloppiness or just sheer incompetence to me. The 2 finger salute to the loyal fan. Don't see any loyalty from the FAI there.
At least my tickets are all together!
Will still write to them and I am seriously thinking of telling them to stick their €70 a ticket up their jacksey for the games in October!
Did anyone on this site get decent Hogan/Cusack tickets i.e lwr tier centre and together??

Typical lazy FAI ****s, just unbeliveable that they can't even do ticket distribution correctly!!!

Bluetonic, thanks for pointing that out. Look I'm not interested in getting bogged down with exact figures. My point is that in a stadium with a soccer capacity approximately double that of Lansdowne (what 60-odd thousand compared to 35ish) , the fact the FAI cant accomodate their loyal fans in a similar manner to the last couple of decades is beyond comprehension. If it was the same capacity as Lansdowne I would still be questioning it.

No tickets here still.
Im well used to poor ticket services from the lfc ticket office but as the FAI only has a handful of games to deal with, I expect better. FYI liverpool tickets are actually printed and sent from Holland.
Thats shocking about seats being split. Myself and 2 mates of mine have sat together at Ireland games for the last 8 years, (every game including friendlies) and i will be disgusted if
a - we are not seated together.
b - if we are stuck in a corner block.
It is disgraceful that loyal fans have to sit apart or get poor seats and also charging that lad €70 a pop for seats outside the perimeter of the pitch is a joke.
I am actually checking with a mate of mine who usually gets complimentary seats from eircom if he has received tickets and where they will be located. They used to be in the east lower centre.

This will lead to chaos - people swapping seats etc. Best to get in early.
I'd love to know what kind of system they use:confused: Application form asks for 3 tickets in a certain stand, the FAI randomly assign 3 seats in the same section (of a different stand probably!) and send them back to the applicant?
If you were getting a ticket for someone you didn't like and asked not to sit next to him they'd probably tell you it was too difficult to arrange. :D
