Chance after chance goes begging.

I'd wager this will be the most embarassing sporting result of my lifetime. And this is coming from a Nottingham Forest fan who was at the 8-1 game.

He can take most of the clowns on the pitch with him.

Never mind Staunton out, what about the muppets that appointed a manager whose experience amounted to putting out training cones and cutting the half-time oranges at an English lower league side.

Delaney out.

You obviously havtn given Stan enough time. OK a year might seem a lot but considering we havnt played too many games under him we need to give him time. What good is it getting on his back, we all know the FAI wont sack him. Do you really expect a top performance with the team thats out. No Given, O'Brien, Kavanagh, Doyle etc. There are players to come back who will make the side better. Also theyoung players on tonight will get a bit of experience for them in the future

I'd say you're mincing your words now.At 1-0 it always felt dodgy, especially given our track record... And I'm not surprised its happened. It was never a question of time, it was a question of calibre, and Stan has never had it. It's been a joke ever since he was appointed but its not funny anymore and we should all be fully justified in calling for his head. Get the whole fcuking regime out, this IS A NEW LOW. Forget Liechtenstein and Cyprus... You can't possibly get worse than this. I'm so thouroughly ashamed.

The difference it makes is that a new manager would have a chance of qualifying that he wouldnt have if we drew

A bitter sweet win - sweet = we won in the end. bitter = Stan will probably be still there next month.

Wow, wow are we blessed.

Staunton should go. Enough is enough. This changes nothing.

to be honest, half of me is probably sad we won - would have been a sacrifice for the greater good.

the other half of me says I can never not want Ireland to win.

makes me wonder if the £200 the next two qualifiers in Croker are goin to cost me is worth it. if it wasnt for the flights booked, I would probably have put the invoice in the bin today

The time that was added on was generous to say the least. San Marino must be sick to their stomachs.

It kills me to say this but I actually hoped we wouldnt get the winner.
We were once again an absolute disgrace. I cannot believe how the team can show their faces.

Stan really has to go if we are to have any hope of qualifying for the world cup coz we have no hope of beating anyone the way the team is playing or set up. why he took so long to make changes especially when it was so bloody obvious his tactics (whatever the f**k they were) werent working.

I feel sorry for the San Marino team and also the poor sods who forked out to watch that tripe.

I feel REALLY sorry for San Marino! Its so lousy, I'd have happily given them a win if it was guaranteed that Stan would f*%k off afterwards. What the hell was Henderson doing?! What a looper!

Gutted. Didn't watch it but kept a casual eye on the score with increasing amusement. Manuel Marani was seconds away from joining Juraj Halenar in the pantheon. :(
