Shamrock Rovers have actually been talking seriously to two players. This I know. Not sure about the Kilkenny or Waterford links though.

with players signing elsewhere , where does that leave Limerick 37. will the others still sign? do they have a manager chasing players? will they be looking at raiding the junior leagues?

Good signings for Rovers to be honest, good luck to them I say, at least they didn't under-rate themselves by signing back to some bush league team

Sounds like you're having a pop off of Carthy there...a bit low and uncalled for if thats the case. Derek had his reasons, and valid ones for going back to play junior football for a while.

Hi L37FC are down to the closing stages of appointing a Manager and the position with regard to "raiding Junior Leagues" is not even an option. The manager when appointed will contact the exisiting players both senior and U21 who were willing to sign, and based on this response will seek additional players to ensure the squad is capable of challenging in the 1st division. If there are any Junior players who are of EL standard surely their ambitions would be to play at the higest levels, but remember the whole point of this process is to ensure that any decisions taken in any one of the 4 grades of soccer do not adversly affect the others locally.

well you should of stated that he has the ability but dont put in the effort! would hardly class him as been one of the best in the division if his not working hard for the team?

hi old keeper. will this not be a conflict of interest. if the team/manager needs to pick on junior players to make a the team complete , then this will afffect the junior leagues. it would be hard to tell the manager that he can't take junior plaers.
I totally agree that junior players should want to play at the highest level they can, but then again look at the oscar traynor and how that is treated.
anyway best of luck with it as i believe that the crunch time is fast approaching for this to work

Hi Goals
I dont see a conflict, but I think that all this will be ironed out soon after the manager is chosen and announced

gives him more time for the local in kilfinane, lets hope he plays jf for a long long time as can be seen from last season carty is finished at el level.cant understand how noc persisted with him.only value as impact sub...certainly got the odd goal.but no pace, not strong enough, poor in the air, never played for the team..he is however a great signing for pike.sure we can always start a revolt to get him back....i have my placard made and i am ready, willing and able to abuse the next manager.

Think it's a great signing for Athlone tbh. At a club without a despot in charge I think he'll do very well. I think he's as big a loss to Limerick as Robbie Kelleher is.

Robbie is definitely a loss to Limerick but I don't think Heffernan is. I thought he was really average last season and I always felt that he was capable of better performances. Whether he wasn't interested or it was down to the manager, I'm not sure but either way I won't miss him.

To be honest I don't think Robbie showed much last season either. Scored very little, ran down too many blind alleys, offered less than Paul Rose anyway. If he applied himself off the field like he did on it he'd be top drawer for sure but while I fully expect Tommy Barrett to excel at Rovers I wouldn't be amazed if Robbie's stint winds up akin to Derek McCarthy's at Galway.

Hi Hoops
I find your comments puzzling! "Limerick 37 FC" is a superb name that retains the proud tradition of soccer in the city and county, the feedback from most people has been very positive in relation to not just the name but also the efforts being made by all groups to ensure that senior soccer is kept in Limerick. I am sure that most of the true soccer followers and clubs from all grades would be delighted to have a sucessful senior team in Limerick, as this will only enhance all soccer. L37FC have interviewed 8 people who all want the Job as manager. There is currently no squad but with the current climate regarding court proceedings we are limited in the effort we can put into signing players. In relation to your comments about not getting players in! you will be delighted to know that since the news broke about the team we have a steady list of players from all over Munster and the west coast who are making themselves available to the club (Most of which were playing EL last season. there will be no raiding of Junior players in Limerick and the point you make in relation to players is that if these players are good enough to play in the EL then they should aspire to do so, but if they are not then there is no issue. I also dissagree with you as regarding this being a bad year for Limerick soccer, with 4 teams left in the FAI, the LDL OT youths and Juniors unbeaten, the Schoolboys progressing in national cups, the possibility of a new vibrant Limerick 37! I think it will be a fantastic year for soccer in Limerick and I doubt very much that any team from Limerick will be hammered every week

Look we´ve had Limerick AFC, Limerick United, Limerick City and Limerick FC and as we couldnt use these names again we had to come up with something else. Now hoops where are all your POSITIVE suggestions? Im not sure any manager would want heff after his "performances" last season, and although a fan of both Tommy and Robbie two players dont make a team/club.

Hi Hoops
I think we will have to agree to disagree, the players that L37FC will sign will be top class and there are about 25 top class players who are not currently signed with clubs in the first division. when one looks at the players registered last season and the registrations to date this year it is wide open yet for lots of players.
By the way I don't own the club but I am the spokesperson, and I am very proud of Limerick soccer and really want to see strong representation at all levels. The LDSL and the LDL are strong so why not have every other grade just as strong?
