I think it's ran its course now. Leave this thread for Michael Doyle.

Some interesting comments about his International career.

Despite having interviewed him, I'm not sure even TheScore.ie know who Mick Doyle is...

Captains Sheffield United in the League Cup against Spuds tonight.

Can a mod change the title to just 'Michael Doyle'?

Doyle had three front teeth knocked out by a teammate when he was at Coventry.

Doyle, though, still feels aggrieved after the incident and says: 'I would have taken a fractured jaw or cheekbone, two black eyes or a broken nose because they can all settle down.

'But I am going to have three false teeth for the rest of my life, so it is difficult to just forgive someone.'

Three quarters of the game in goal and down to ten men, only conceded in injury time in a 3-1 win. Comes across really well in the interview. Always seemed to be a really good pro. The fact he's still captaining a side and earning a living from it at 38 is probably proof of that.

Wow, I didn't realise he was still playing! Seems to have been around for ever.

There was a bit of luca connell about doyle. At the time there was a lot of us thinking he didn't get a fair crack at celtic and should have broken through there. His Denmark move was a bit of this could be the future irish lads making the move to Europe. Fair play to him he had a proper career and must have been a very good pro

Liam Miller (RIP) was also loaned out to AGF at the same time and he had much better success at breaking into the Celtic first team at the time. The lack of Ireland caps and pushing on beyond a declining Coventry would suggest it was the right call to let him go. A very solid professional career though.
