i see o'dwyer is playing for coonagh these days, why not the A team, remember him from the caherdavin days, great little player, workhorse like , always gives 100% , coonagh will struggle this year though to get promoted, lacking a lot
The As or the Bs will struggle? Defo the As....not a chance in hell. Bs will. We still havent been able to field our full strength side once due to injuries.
Rory is now in Dublin so only gets down at weekends and cant train with us.

Thats a great result shels. I cant see anyone else beating them there this season.
The only thing on other teams sides are that they are all young and might all head away for the weekend sometime so hopefully thats when we get to play them!

Hi Thanks for the support
The issue re the lower divisions was discussed at the start of the season but it was too late to change then, next year there will be a root and branch review of the leagues well before the season starts and hopefully clubs will be in a position to apply to the lower divisions. in my opinion clubs should have to re apply every year to ensure the league knows how many teams will be in. Im on lunch but would need a few hours to deal with longtimefan!!
But the division setups are nothing to do with the Fixture secretary. in the past it may have been left to the FS to do this but there are many now who want to be involved and it will be a committee decision as to how many teams are in each division.
There wont be anything done on this till the committee changes, the current lot are not in for soccer.

Only problem for us now is that we have played more games than anyone else, which means we will have a long spell without a game at some stage.
i know its bad situation, have you got your committee members to propose larger league next year, so we can avoid this. on the postive side it gives hope to the opposition to put bit pressure on ya's at the top :)

I am going back playing tonight! I need to test the injury to see if its alright. 5 weeks without kicking ball. I am craking up.
I reckon I am fit enough to play 5 mins outfield and 55 mins in goals

It was a tough game. Our first goal came from a long ball from the back. Their centre half got a head to it and stuck it in the top corner. They had a lot of possession in the second half without really creating any chances. They went three at the back then and we caught them on the break for our second.
Only problem for us now is that we have played more games than anyone else, which means we will have a long spell without a game at some stage.
Who is yer manager this year since eddie hicky left?

Best of luck
I've been out for 6 months and no idea when I can go back, at this stage I'd have absolutely no confidence in going for a full on sprint:(

Well Danger, is it still the groin that's at you. Has Gilmores been ruled out or whats the story. You should start coming down to the Coonagh games for a chat anyway....show a bit of clubmanship (is that a word??)!!! :D

A bit unfair the way the lower division teams seem to get the bad end of the stick when the refs off .....IF a team hasn't played in a few weeks and ther are teams that have played games for the last few weeks then they should have there games called off(i am sure they would be glad of the weekend off) and let the teams that haven;t played in so long play..
How will summerville C fair out this year?? Comments???

i agree with you there about fixtures not sure of the process but there has to be some consideration taken into account with teams who have lacked fixtures... how can teams in division 1a and 1b who have played like 8 games in average plus two cup games get fixtures this week. when some teams who have only played three fixtures or four have no game... there has to be accountability somewhere, what is the process on selecting fixtures, why was the cup games played last week with full ref qouta and not league games, then this week could have been used as cup week where you don't need as much ref's.
as old keeper says our committee will be writing a letter to vent our frustration but will it change anything i'm not sure, i hope so cause its hard to keep telling your players turn up for training and then tell them sorry lads no game this week after week.
sorry old keeper i'm trying to be constructive but in this situation its impossible, cause all the lower league teams ,bar a few which i'm glad there playing this weekend, have been let down badly

No Need to be sorry I fully agree with you. The situation is not acceptable The committee is taking action and there will be changes. This is the type of issue that could be totally avoided by a fully computerised system as the parameters are set to ensure equal games are played

This was what was supposed to happen but it did not. there may be a logical explanation but we will wait and see. But the balance will change.

Hi Summervilleman,
Havent seen your C team this season yet and our game against this weekend is off. We had 3 very hard games against them last season but I hear they lost a few players. They got a thumping against top of the table Caherconlish recently which was very surprising.

Yep. Got the official word last night. Going to train 11am on Sunday if you are down.
No game the weekend after thanks to the As in the FAI. You should go and see that one up in the Boro club if you are around. You're bound to see 5 or 6 goals at least.:D

They only running around in that game will be the lads chasing shadows. Dont be expecting to have a couple of chances. :D

I couldn't care less...this lack of games is killing me and the B team. Any bit of running around, whether it's chasing shadows or not, would be good for the match fitness at least.

We havent had a game in 5 weeks now. Its gone beyond a joke.
I just heard that there is troubles in the committe... the treaserer or something has an issue and they are thinking of getting rid of 4A and 4B next season else get rid of all C teams.. ie clubs may ony have 2 teams...
Old Keeper.. is there any truth in this?? Surely not like.. we all want a game... even if it is once every 6 weeks.. (providing we dont have our game called off this weekend too)

hi polo
It s true that the league has a spot of bother at the moment, this is due to a couple of clubs touting a rumor that the treasurer was suspended for a silly reason. this is untrue as the treasurer was suspended for a very serious matter. in relation to the leagues being changed, this will be a matter for decision after the next AGM but there has been no decision made by this committee nor has the matter been discussed. the getting rid of C teams is another rumor. but we are in trouble with the lack of refs and we will need to make some changes somewhere

I know how you feel Poloman. We have a game fixed and a referee fixed so game should be on but we already know we have no game the week after thanks to the A team in the MFA. That should be the last of it anyway and there are only 4 sundays after that left for games before the break for Xmas.
Would be nice to have a game on each of those Sundays. :D :D

I know!! i am tempted to give it a break till after xmas and see if i feel the urge to play again. :(
We actually had a game the weekend. Jimmy Clancy the lunatic reffed it. If i had a euro for every time he was telling someone to shut up and making a joke I wouldnt have to work ever again!
All this is done in jest though.. he is a gas man!

He is nuts alright. My favourite ones of his are:
"Ref, you have to give him a card for that"
"Cards? I dont even give out Christmas cards."
and
"We might have to go upstairs for that one" and then he makes the shape of a square with his hands like when a rugby ref goes to the TV ref.
