Won 4-1 against St Pats. Could have been more but we missed alot of chances. St Pats had a man sent off early in the second half for a deliberate hand ball.

Yeah. It's going well right now. No major injuries so far which is the difference on previous years. Big game this Sunday against Croom. If we win that it will leave us six points ahead of them but they will have 2 games in hand.
Its hard to gauge who are the strongest teams so far with Croom, St Pauls and St Pats only playing 3 games each.
See ye came back from 2-0 to win on Sunday. Great comeback that.

yeah great comeback, they could have easily scored four our five in first half.. we weren't at the races due to a little mistake by our management... was looking at the website and saw that we were the away team.. so i assumed that we are playing down near the cals pitch... so went down there and found out they don't play there and don't have a pitch the game had been changed to our pitch but there was no mention on the website of it...
so we had gone a nice little round trip for nothing.. weren't prepared played terrible in first half, went 2 down got a break with a penalty then scored a second a minute later, the second half it was mostly parkville but all shots were straight to the keeper and then we got lucky break when a weak shot bundled under the keeper.. what can i say thats SOCCER for you :)
bit annoyed the website wasn't upto date showing change of fixture and worsed of all PARKVILLE left with out paying ref, we had to i thought its the home team who pays the ref and this fixture they were the home team.

i will let you off with it this time :)
so how's your season going , playing well... staying away from goalkeeping for a while the Coonagh game has left me a nervous wreck  ,
playing centre half now. Our A team have had good start and the B's are starting to gel, Shels look the team to catch in 4b this year.:ball:

It's looking like a good 3 way battle in 3B at the moment. Hard to know if Summerville will challenge but i know that game is going to be sticky given past confrontations. It's a shame there are going to be so few games for us this season though. Is there a cup for 3B does anyone know?

I'm sure there is the divisional cup. We had discussed on here a few weeks back the possibility of a cup between 3A, 3B, 4A and 4B. Old Keeper agreed that it was a good idea but we need to get clubs to write to the secretary about it.

yeah also getting our PA aka Secretary to send request
but also was asking the ldmc why have three or four leagues of eight next year why not ditch the last league and put the appropripate teams into to the other divisions making sure each league has at least ten teams giving minimum of 18-20 games in the season..
what you think???
larrywhite
03/10/2006, 2:24 PM
Yeah the divisions should definitely be bigger. Teams cant get a good run of form going when you play for 2 weeks and then have nothing for 2 weeks. We only train once a week so if theres no game at the weekend it does affect performances and fitness.
Ryan...we have a good start to the season, only played 4 games so far and unbeaten. Played top of the table Caherconlish a few weeks ago and drew 3-3 away. Good point as they were a handy side and only lost 3-2 to Summerville A (1A) the week after. Another big one this weekend at home to Herbertstown. Always very tight games and we are missing a few who have decided to play a junior football semi instead. Bloody GAA.

Good to hear Mister Barrywhite sorry Larrywhite  ,
its been so so start for our lads , conceded last touch of the game equaliser against St Pauls in first game of season to good wins against St Pats and Parkville, to bad performances with Shels and Croom. but 7 points out of 15 could be worse.. had high hopes for my lads after friendlies but its early hopefully the weather won't mess up our fixtures too much this winter to keep the season ticking
if you wanna a friendly in free weeks of FAI and Munster we are free and hopefully LDMC will have spare refs for those weekends...:ball:

I was well impressed with ye when we played pre season. Thought ye would do very well in 4B. Keep it going...ye play good footbal and that always comes through. One bit of advice if I may...very important to keep training thru Xmas break. You can get a good head start on any teams that have been eating and drinking too much over the holiday period. :D
Looks like we will have free weekends on October 15th and 22nd as our As will be playing in the FAI and MFA so will give you a shout next week about it after fixtures come out in Tuesday.

The only fighting you should be doing is to get fit and try to get your place back.
As for players dropped....not training and not letting me know why will see you on the bench. Phelo always played centre back before joining us but I thought his talents could be better used elsewhere on the pitch. By the way he played very well as sweeper.

If 3 Heroes showed up for the games he wouldnt need to ask about them on here. ;) Anyway I doubt if we will ever be as painful as that 1A thread. Some guys moan on there almost as much as on the pitch.

I have seen quite a few of them playing against our A team this season and last and I can tell you they would wreck your head with the amount of moaning on the pitch. Goes for most teams in 1A in fact including our own. As for the players there are very few outstanding players in 1A. Most teams would have one or two handy players and the rest steady eddies. I thought our As would be certs for relegation this season but having seen them improve and others in the division dont look good at all I think they will come 6th or 7th again. Not bad for only their second season in the division. Main thing is to stay there.

Yeah our A team we hope to be back in 1a next season, had two bad seasons in there always fighting for regulation, couldn't understand why the teams weren't great apart from Corbally, Star , Caherdavin ,Herbertstown and Wembley who always played very well against us it was when we played the rest we didn't get the breaks and the games we should have won we drew or got beat 1-0 and it just got deflating, i think being relegated helped us to get stronger as a team and i think if we go up this season will be a much stronger position to compete in the league...

i know a few of the summerville lads and they think they will struggle this year as they have a lost a few players from last season and the players that came in r quite poor.

My Own opinion is that the cups should be started in the gap between first and second rounds this would also allow us to have league games that were called off played before the second round of the league. I would then finish the cups later in the season.
But Im Not the Fixtures secretary

Were winning 6-1 (they got a goal that was blatantly offside when we were 6-0 up and ref must've pitied them) and the game was abandoned with 6 odd minutes to go

Hi Hoots
I am a member of the LDMC and take issue with your remark. I know it's your opinion but I disagree. I also play in 4B when I am available and the level of commitment from the players in these divisions is as high as any. The referee shortage is outof our hands as the Ladies football league requires 3 officials for each game and because of the times of the ladies games we are effectively down refs for 12 games. I think you will find that if there is a simular situation in the next week or so the refs will be put into the lower divisions and the others from 1A down will be out!
It is not possible to conjure up refs from thin air.
