I dont believe it, I've been watching the Ryanair site like a hawk for the past two months and I forgot to check lately and the cheapos are gone. I'm sick.

I posted details here late Sunday night early Monday morning :(

I had been checking the Ryanair site daily for the last few weeks and it must only have come up after midnight on Sunday and it was by chance that I checked it at that time

****e I've got tickets for Ireland - Namibia on the Sunday in the Rugby. Don't think I'll convince her that two sporting occasions in a weekend is good value for money.

As I'm looking at organising my own trip around the two qualifiers in September, do any of the travel agencies do ticket only deals for Ireland away games, or if you book tickets with them, do you have to go on their whole package??

The simple answer is they don't do ticket only deals. Where the rip off travel agents  make their killings in on charging the clients (fans) rip off prices for hotels, flights, bus transfers etc.

Thank goodness because of sites like this :) and the internet fans can get information and help in organising away trips at fractions of the prices these ba$t**** charge. If you are looking for tickets for the 2 games send an E-Mail to the FAI asking them to send you an application form for tickets (Details on FAI website). There will probably be a waiting list for ticket thread for the games on here as well so you could put your name down for tickets on that also. Don't start one yet as Moderators are to draw up rules for the operation of these threads.

Flying out of London is a good option, looking at flights and its easy enough for us to fly from Derry. Only thing we need is match tickets, but wouldnt bother me to much going into the home ends. But my friends on the other dont fancy that.:)

I think it was to do with England being England, and everyone being up for that. Also them having black players. Don't think we have any?

So long as we don't get mistaken for England!

E159.99 to Bratislava now. Cheers Aidano!

what is the difference between vienna and bratislava airport, if any? seeing as this is going to be my first away trip any other advice would be nice. thanks
To be honest when flying into Vienna Airport you can see Bratislava it is that close (20Km). There is a bus just outside arrivals at Vienna going to Bratislava every half hour or so just pay the driver when boarding. www.aerlingus.com www.skyeurope.com and www.ryanair.com check these outfor flights and for the bus if you want to book in advance go to http://www.viennaairport.com/jart/prj3/via/website.jart?rel=en&content-id=1135697462792&reserve-mode=active

Am going to be taking in Both Games and was looking for a Cheap route to do the both games! Have been looking at a Ryanair Airport in the Czech Republic BRNO, was looking to travel in and out of this airport and then connect to Slovakia on the Friday then travel from Bratislava to Prague on Monday for the Game Wednesday and fly out of Brno on the Thursday. Anyone else thinking of this route or something similar?

Was looking on the airports website and it says connections to Prague & Bratislava are fairly handy!

Has anyone spoke to the FAI about tickets for the two away games ? I keep looking on the FAI web site and they are still taking about San Marino. Should I contact the FAI and apply for the two games or is it best to wait until until they put something on their site .

You'll have to wait until it's up on the FAI website before you send in an application. Normally there's a specific application form for each away game which in this case will probably not be available until about May or June. If you keep an eye on this and the FAI websites you won't miss the boat to apply.

Not fully correct lads :p

At the start of the campaign I E-Mailed the FAI and asked them to send me an application form for tickets for all the away games. They have put me on a list where the application form comes out to me automatically so I don't have to keep an eye on the site. I have received application forms for all the away games. :)

Send an E-Mail to the FAI asking them to send you an application form for the tickets for these matches when they are open for applications. They will then send you the application form(s) and you go into the shakeup with everybody else subject to whatever criteria the FAI have

So what you're saying is that you're relying on the FAI to remember to send the form out to you?

It seems to be a system that they have in place and in my experience it works :)

I don't have a link as it was one of the other lads in my group that booked but as far as I remember we just went on to google, typed in apartments bratislava (or Prague as the case my be) and a number of different websites came up. We have a 3 bedroom apartment booked for 4 nights in Bratislava and a 4 bedroom apartment booked for 3 nights in Prague. They are both city centre, 4 star apartments and accommodation for the full 7 nights came to about €350 each in total. If you're prepared to share rooms and go for a 2 or 3 star place you'd obviously get it for cheaper but considering the standard and the location of the apartments we got I was very pleased with the price. Just one thing, when paying the deposit for one of the two apartments (I can't remember which one) they didn't accept credit cards so we had to orgainse a transfer of funds to a particular account. It was only about a hundred euros in total for the deposit, it was just a bit of a pain at the time. Having said that we're well pleased to have it done now.

Managed to get 2 apartments for about 7 of us working out at about €27 a night...looks to be pretty much in the centre of town aswell.

Send them an email cause they were very helpful to me....

Edit: We could pay the deposit with Paypal aswell which was particularly handy...

Yer we booked apartments last month two nights in Bratislava was 320 for 5 of us and in Prague 557 for 4 nights again for the 5 of us . Now it was easy with the Prague side of things as there were lots of apartments to choose from but Bratislava was a bit sticky as the game is played on Saturday and most places I tried wanted to tie me down for at least 3 nights . We have done something different than most people as we are staying in Budapest for the first night as the train is only takes two and a half hours to Bratislava , other than that all we need is tickets .

This won't be an issue for everyone but on the day after the match the Irish rugby team have a World Cup match so those of you with an interest may want to take this in to account when organising your travel plans to get to Prague from Bratislava. We're not going to leave Bratislava for Prague until Monday.

Have just booked aerlingus to vienna on wednesday 5/9 for €74 direct inc tax. comin home from prague via gatwick with easy jet and ryanair on the 13th for €120 inc all taxes. I live with a slovak guy and he reckons 3* hotel in bratislava city centre should not cost more than €30 per person sharing a night with breakfast.

also might spend the wednesday night in Vienna, somewhere new to see i guess. The guy i live with reckons you can go on the absolute rampage in bratislava for €50 a day, cheaper than prague and all!

train is four hours from bratislava to prague aledgedly and will cost no more than €25. will probably travel to Prague on the sunday afternoon
