Must have been very difficult to clap away fans after taking a beating (no insult intended).
I thought it was Bohs who "took a beating" off Cork. Oh, I see what you mean. ;)
Back to the main point - cheers to the Corkies for their nice words. We appreciate the gesture due to the sheer amount of rubbish written about us.
The prejudices of others are shown up in the way they've reacted to Cork fans complimenting us. Immediate talk of love-ins and other crap. Us and Cork will never love (or even like) each other but it doesn't mean that on rare occasions we can't respect each other.

christ WAR, dont forget to pat the little galway (and galway based harps fans) on the head or we will have another 8 pages of oprah style 'respect us too' crap to have to wade through

Spot on.
I hate Rovers but you've got to have respect for Rovers fans. Don't like them but repsect them..... just don't do it too often!;)
Right, I'm going to try to explain this just one more time in hope that it might, just might, get through.
It was never a question of looking for credit or a pat on the head, it was responding to the allegation, that has been made quite a few times on here recently, that we aren't 'proper' fans. It was just a case of pointing out self-evident b******t.
I look forward to seeing what has been said totally mispresented by people who seem to have severe difficulty reading posts before responding to them!

I'm a bit late to this thread but well done Rovbers fans on Monday. Numbers were a bit lower (could have been late arrivals as hard to see other side of stand) than i would have expected.
Must have been very difficult to clap away fans after taking a beating (no insult intended).
Fact: Over last 5 years Rovers have on average brought most fans to the cross from dublin clubs. Given the clubs state & form in those years this is to their credit.
Nice try, Pete. You almost got this thread back on-topic. But then the inevitable happened:

I think the mods should offer us a new facility: a smiley showing a fish chomping on a hook.
See Colm strikes again.
Cork compliments Rovers - good stuff. Good fans and deserve it.
Then........'Cork, Rovers and Derry are the only real football fans' ballax. Same bloke that came out the 'fans culture' crap that wrecked another thread.
Thread went off topic badly - sure. Look who knocked it off topic. Click on the first thread and scroll down.
Harps will have about 60 or 70 in United Park on Friday night even though we are basically down. Not bad for not being real football fans.

Alright fair enough ..... but lads .... Colm was at the game !!
If there was a problem with what he has said, then fair enough ... take it up with him .... a pm is a good way to start ... or start another thread, on that topic ... "regarding issue in another thread, i want to say etc. etc. "
IMO ... the thread was going off topic over that issue.
Aswell as that ... if Colm thinks that, and actually believes that .... then you do know there is not much you can do about it. Starting another thread is a good approach, where you lay out your stall and if he is open minded and reads it ... you might change his mind.
There is a chance that you might not agree lads ..... in all fairness.
But going about blaming whole sections of fans for this one comment is just mad .... look at some of the threads that were spin offs .... if it was getting on peoples nerves ... go to support and get it moderated.

Does anyone else find these threads about "our fans are better than yours" a bit sad?? Jeez get a life! We're all football fans here. Thats the whole point of this website isn't it? And this "our club is bigger than yours" is the most childish tripe ever. And the worst part is, is that we have mods partaking in it as well. Aren't they supposed to have more sense?

I think there are too many Dublin clubs.
I further believe that either Dublin City or Cork City is a franchise. Discuss amoungst yourselves which one.

Both true- that Lily's Bordello in particular has a lot to answer for, while both Dublin and Cork should be burned down and/or pushed into the sea.
Apoligies A Face dude but it is hardly surprising that people responded to Colm's put-downs..........again!
Been a tough season travelling up and down the country to watch us get beat every second week without someone telling you your club doesn't have proper fans.

Apparently Bald Student if your thread is censored by a mod because he doesn't like you making fun of him (or Cork) then you can complain in the support section.
Like this guy did.

Seems to have slipped out of the support section though.

Or perhaps the point it was removed was that it served no purpose as an individual thread except to 'have a dig' or troll...there were/are enough misjudged complaints in here for them not to be in other threads or other threads to be started.

And most of us couldn't give a flying funk about them.
It's a big day for the blahs when we come to town but for City fans, it's more of an inconvenience than anything else.
Rovers are our real rivals. Always have been, always will be.
Just look at the crowds they bring and the crowds we get when they're in town.

In fairness, Rovers near relegation don't really matter anymore, it's only "sympathy hatred". When you're down on your luck and messing with relegation, I suppose you need to feel hated to make it all worthwhile. :)
