Sure Sam Maguire was from West Cork. Who could be offended by him! ;)

Sam was also known as a hard working Postal worker, you'd have a hard job trying too find one of them nowadays Peader.;)

Everytime I post something to England I can picture it flying out of the back of a RM van that's rounding corners too fast... :p

We’ll have to beg to differ. I don’t see anything hypocritical about it. Going to a lot of lower league games I’ve come across quite a few fans who would die for their local side but aren’t into international football (probably because it rarely involves players they know). But anyway I can’t see many Irish fans “supporting” Macclesfield or Rochdale so its the premier league that we’re really talking about. Liverpool vs Man Utd has now very little to do with the cities of Liverpool and Manchester. It’s about a club called Liverpool (with their foreign players, 100 year history and connections with Ireland) playing a club called Man Utd (with their foreign players, 100 year history and connections with Ireland). They’ll probably have as many people interested in Scandinavia as they will in either city.

You're right. We'll have to agree to disagree! In my book "supporting" any english club from here, irregardless of how many foreign players they have, and wanting the england national team to lose is laughably hypocritical. Mind you if you point this out to any of these mongs on their barstools here they would look at you as if you had pulled a monkey out of your nose!

Sure the most popular club on this island is liverpool:rolleyes: Guess why.......
