Really really poor goal to give away. Bad communication between two players.. both backing off

Egan just didn't bother there. After all that good play back to square one. Real shame, we had a chance to really make Scots feel the pressure.

Couple of poor mistakes there after a positive start to the half. Need to settle again now and quickly.

Oh dear. Bit out of the blue, although Scotland were always going to threaten from a cross or set piece.

Disappointing though as that's what you'd consider our strength

Awful from Doherty. Entitled to take the shot, but you have to hit the target from there!

Don't even think we need to make any changes to shape or anything, just get out heads back in the game and maybe like-for-like on some tired legs.

What a chance that is. Surely it?s a card for the Player who tried to take Obafemi out?!?

NeverFeltBetter
24/09/2022, 8:00 PM
That is unforgivable from Parrot. I would take him straight off after that. It's absolutely unacceptable to not only fail to score in that position, but to make it so easy for the keeper.

Great obafemi!!!!! Parrottt. Dribble past the keeper!!!

Definitely. But how did Parrott miss. FFS.

Bad goal to concede, Doherty got stitched up and looked exhausted. Been looking leggy in midfield too actually.

Just dribble past the keeper with a dummy!!! Don't try the nutmeg fancy

I think obafemi has been offering much more going forward and link up play

NeverFeltBetter

Think I would have kept Obafemi on, he hasn't been amazing but his speed is a threat and Parrot should no longer be on the field. He looked annoyed coming off.

And just like that Ogbene nearly embarrasses Gordon. That's three times we could have scored since conceding.

A lot better the last 5-10

I change my mind, Ogbene has been outstanding since coming on. He seems to constantly want the ball and not want to pass it backward.

Knight with a dreadful effort just now. Our conversion rate is terrible.

Kenny took off the wrong forward. Why he took off obafemi I'll never know. Parrot has shown he is english league 1 standard and always will be. Just not good enough for international football.
Ogbene and Obafemi up front and we'd beat these useless sweatties.

Obafemi wasn't up to much either in fairness. Parrott had the two best chances (bar the goal), albeit neither would have stood

I think it needs more shots on target for that really?

It's a million miles away from Armenia away for sure though

I don't think we have been too bad this half really. The slightest bit of composure in front of goal and we'd be a few up. That's what's so frustrating.

Bad second half Ireland

I?d agree it?s a great game to watch. We look more vulnerable second half but we?ve also had 3 or 4 great chances including easily the best of the game for Parrott.

Frustrating game. Must win on Tuesday. Overall performance has been better than other losses, which is progress. But need to win the last game and win it well.

Most people won't remember the O'Neill managed performance when we lost 7bor so years ago. No one will remember this performance either. The result will show a loss though and that's what most people will remember

Please get an Argentinian coach after Armenia If Ireland wants better. Horrible 2nd half the chances we've got were because they made mistakes. Come from behind defeat is not acceptable

How after almost 3 years in charge are we still talking about progress? Let's call a spade a spade.

Ireland played better that day and an unlucky goal by Maloney. This is a fiasco, parott is responsible too

Biggest rebuild in Irish football history I?d argue. I think we?ll be talking about progress or lack of it for at least another 3 years and that?s regardless of who the manager is.

The difference in this was a missed sitter at one end and conceding an incredibly cheap penalty at the other end.

when we win kenny is a mastermind and when we lose it's we don't have the players.

that's probably (definitely?) the fallback of a playoff gone so a top two finish in the qualification group required. I'd be very pleasantly surprised if we pulled it off.

An ok performance but not result. Very poor defending for the equaliser and a weird but silly penalty.

We badly need someone to become something of a regular goalscorer. Same old story on that front.

There's a point there for sure. But I don't feel as frustrated as after losing to Armenia, or as resigned as against Serbia away for example.

We had some nice build-up play and are growing in confidence in that.

The goals against are disappointing - a cross and a daft peno.

And up front is a worry again unfortunately.

I think if we play like that against Armenia we'll win handy. But I think back to predictions here of an unbeaten Nations League campaign and there's a reality check needed too.

I'm broadly happy with that performance overall, and in the end they were marginally better and got a penalty to win it. Sometimes that happens

I thought it was a decent performance and we probably deserved something from the game. Fine margins in the end. Some poor defending, Parrotts lack of composure when gifted with that gilt-edged opportunity and a debatable penalty call eventually proving the difference.

Looking back over the campaign, the dreadful performances in the first two matches was always going to leave us with too much to do.
