I've just checked on buyandsell and as expected saw a good few tickets for our big game.We had no problem getting sorted for tickets over in Paris, why should here be any different, its making my blood boil...........how about we do something positive about this.............can we set-up some sort of a poll/petition on this site, about touts and all the tickets they have, and bang it off to the FAI ( with some media attention, surely somebody here knows or works in papers/telly etc). The FAI dont want any more bad publicity, so the only way to stop this madness to make some noise about it, what yez think??

A poll/petition is about as positive as Alan Matthews' brand of football!

How about you identify places where tickets are being sold for profit and forward the information to the FAI.

are the sellers providing seat/stand details? - its the only way its of any use to the fai, even then the useless shower would probably do feck all.

Is it actually illegal in Ireland to sell a ticket for above face value?? I thought it wasn't (not that I am condoning the touting scum - I hate them), but I thought that the reason cops take the tickets of touts outside matches is for street vending without a licence??

Whatever about being illegal, it violates the terms associated with the ticket being issued initially. The FAI can refuse entry on that ticket.

AFAIK some people for the fai are on the streets before the game and they buy tickets from the touts. they then check the numbers on the tickets to see who they originally gave them to and the person is called in to explain why the tickets ended up in the hands of touts.

its getting to be a joke at this stage, whatever the reasons how/why etc, it needs to be stopped. normal fans cant get to the games, while fat cats with loads of cash can easilly afford these tickets from the touts and use them as junkets for business deals

any newspaper journalist on here?

elroy

TBH i think alot of this is a result of the likes of corporate tickets etc. The people who get the tickets are not interested in the game and see the chance to make a handy profit.
As well as that, how do we not know that touts are on the block booking system. They get the tickets at face value and then flog them on at huge prices.

I know if I had a ticket for the game, I wouldnt sell it for any amount.

I heard this aswell. Great idea too. Much like the reporting of bad behavior at matches your seat is yours and you have responsibilty for that and you can easilly be traced back to it. If I were to get a ticket off a tout I would then report the seat number after the match. There are people that need to be help accountable alright. I reckon closer to the game your're gonna hear more and more about this....prices are gonna go through the roof...and a whole pile of disgusting people are gonna make money off this.

Yeah I've been checking regularly and there's nothin. Its gonna come down to the last few days before the game in Buy and Sell and the last few minutes outside the ground. Don't know whether to try outside before the game or not cos if I fail I'll have to watch the game in a pub which I bloody hate. I'll prob be priced out of the market anyway, €250 will be my limit-still trying to pull myself out of student debt :( What do ye all reckon the tout scum will be looking for tickets?

before anyone gets all high and mighty and disgusted with me for considering dealing with touts: F**k OFF cos ye are probably the ones with tickets who are't gonna miss it!

Same predictiment, i dont like watching ireland games in a pub, dunno why just im a nervous wreck usually. I dont think there will be too many tickets for sale on the night anyway

this is what it says on the website:
1. All tickets sold by Euroteam are guaranteed authentic.
2. All tickets sold by Euroteam will be delivered according to specifications in order.
3. All tickets sold by Euroteam will be delivered or on time or be made available for pick up according to information and terms and conditions.

In case of failure by Euroteam to deliver according to above and according to our terms and conditions for any reason, Euroteam will pay and return a sum equal to 200% of any deposits and/or payments for undelivered tickets.

had a look on ebay - they currently have just one set of two tickets for auction for north terrece (eL section??) currently 355 euro for the pair.

scandolous profitmaking. it would be a shame if someone set up a 'ahem' fake ebay account and sabotaged the auction

Its over 600 for the two tickets now, what a joke.

The FAI should really track down who these tickets went to and never allow them near an Ireland game again.

its 750 now, but the bidder has a nil rating - in cases like this i really hope its a phantom bidder, and the toout gets shafted

Just playing Devils advocate here as I dont like touts either and most of them are not the sort of guys you wuld want your sister or daughter or mother to marry. But what is the difference between someone buying a house for 200,000 and selling it for 250,000 a few months later. Havind done no work to the house or anything. The only thing that has happed is the market value has risen. It is very similar with tickets too. Dont worry I am not a tout and I never sell for over face value.

Yellowbelly

I reckon there are two phantom bidders here driving the price up. Fair play to them.

Its hard to win in these situations though. I offered my tickets at face value for a friendly I couldn't get to on peoples flag and got dogs abuse.

Cheers,

Yellowbelly

If anyone feels mischievous I believe it's quite easy to set up a dummy eBay account and put in a few massive bids just to mess up the sale.

Morally, you'd be in the right. :D

there is a point there i suppose. however the house bought at 200k would have been available to anybody to buy, so had the person who bought it for 250k had actually bidded 201k 6 months earlier they would have got it, as it was on sale to a general market.

ireland france tickets are only on sale to 33,000 people out of a population of say 3.5million. therefore by touting, people are taking advantage of other peoples inaccessability to the original market sale of an item (the tickets).

whilst the two may appear similar, there are crucial differences

Personally I think touts are the lowest of the low. I would rather take the hit and not use a spare ticket than sell it to a tout. Two points:

Firstly, let euroteam be the first name on the list to the FAI.

Secondly, demand pushes up the price of anything. Ticket touting is ILLEGAL. If the powers that be want to stamp it out there are measures that can be taken. The FAI aren't doing enough to protect THEIR fans. With the help of the gardaí they should be actively confiscating (not buying) these tickets on behalf of the FAI.

I dont know about the rest of you but I see the same faces selling/buying tickets at almost all sporting events. Surely, these people are known to the gardai too??

Somebody told me before that touts outside a match or gig can only be done for selling without a vendor's licence, and not the actual touting itself.

Maybe an official touting system would help the situation?? Somewhere that will buy back spare tickets for face value and sell for face value.

That happens unofficially here, but an official one would be good aswell. THe problem is there are too many people who would see the chance to make a profit, yet they wouldn´t count themselves as touts!

Those tics (2) are up to 820 euro and with 4 days left too! Is there something we can do about this without being left with the cost of the tickets? another pair on there now at 800 euro only with buy it now!!!!! Makes me feel ill. It looks like he got his tickets through the Frencs well. There is a pic of the ticket and it has what looks like Visitors association printed on....BOOOOOOO!

definitely issued to the "visiting association" The FFA would have a record of who they issued it to but that's hardly likely to be the guy selling it here :( . You had to have French address and ID to apply to the FFA.
