How small is Cullen against those Serb midfielders?

And Hendrick keeps getting pushed off the ball too

It's like watching loi players 10+ years ago in Europe. Except they were part timers and we're full blown professionals

I do like being there, but there's no doubt you get a better view of the game on telly.

Decent start, but we had a decent start on Saturday.

You just don't see the same space and running on the TV. Everything looks rushed on tv

Game is probably a bit too open for comfort. Disappointing to concede from a corner. They’ve got mistakes in them at the back too. It’s an entertaining watch if you’re a neutral I’d imagine

It is entertaining.. if we're going to lose let it be 5-4 or something

I think Cullen and Hendrick have been good so far.

Serbia are a nice little side. They’ve also got the ability to speed it up when needed.

We really lack a player who can take us up the pitch. We are often very pedestrian on the ball and it allows Serbia to reset.

Omombambidele really looks the part. Worrying thing for me is the amount of work Cullen is being left to do. There’s been a few instances towards the end of the half where they have an extra man wide right and it’s being left to Cullen to bust a gut to get there every time. Idah has been great again at times, but not managing to get on the end of a few decent balls in is a negative. Second half could go either way. Stirring comeback or lose 4-0.

If we had 2 or 3 more players who are genuinely comfortable on the ball in tight areas wedbe a decent side.

Decent start, a bit like Azerbaijan except against against a better side, but again, that faded and we lost the midfield battle after a while, finished off by a goal this time.

The difference in attack between the two teams in terms of the the pace, organisation and numbers committed, is stark.

Feel sorry for Idah up there all alone, a hard role to play.

Henrick our best player so far. Browne totally lost. Idah totally isolated. Robinson for browne to play off idah , plY mcgrath centrally in the midfield 3.

Omobamidele and Hendrick have been very good for us. Idah has done well in a thankless role. Doherty too, showing as a leader. Maybe McGrath has shone too. The rest fairly anonymous and/or ineffective. Commentators raving about McClean but I’m not really having it, just cos he put in two crosses that didn’t hit the first defender. We also look very exposed on his side when we turn the ball over. Duffy is not the right man for what Kenny wants to do…but how can you drop your top scorer ;)

Agree with those changes liamoo

Mcclean and Hendrick our best players. Been completely outclassed though. Could get something from a corner or free kick maybe and hope Serbia keep missing their chances.

He gets caught out with the touch and go stuff he was caught out twice tonight and in Portugal but overall defending and moving into space to receive the ball is good. I've said on here before we always seem to produce a surplus number of players in one position and we're doing it again.

Idahs becoming quite one dimensional , yes i know it's early days but the Serbs are more than happy with his game and handling it easy.

Another poor set piece we've conceded.

McGrath looks good but who knows he could be crap the next couple of games. We've still too many players who come in and out of games and too many who have 1 in 3 or so good games.

Absolutely. Two or three players of real quality would transform this side. Whether Kenny is sacked or not, it will take us a couple of years to be really competitive I think. I still like the fact that we’re trying to pass the ball, albeit maybe overdoing at times at the back. I know the results have been poor, and yes, we should be beating Luxembourg and Azerbaijan at home, but I’d still keep faith with Kenny. We’re probably going to lose this, but we’re doing ok. Might even #natch a draw, who knows. Jamie McGrath has played well I thought. I imagine Robinson will come in sooner rather than later.

You know…whatever else becomes of Kenny’s reign, it puts to bed forever this notion that Irish players can’t pass the ball and play a decent brand.

I never really understand the level the of grief directed at Hendrick, he's technically sound and has actually put in a few decent performances under Kenny. He's far from our biggest problem.

We need another forward on the pitch now for sure, Idah needs some help. If Robinson isn't able to play more than 30 minutes then Parrott.

Hendrick and McClean have both done well tonight, for two players who get a lot of abuse.

Here comes Robinson. Glad he didn’t just bring him on for Idah.

And another terrific save from Bazunu. Superb performance.

Molumby is not the future lads, it's another case of a prospect that the more he plays the more limited a player you see.

It's been like a glorified friendly for most of the second half.

Why didn't idah get that ball away to Robinson in oceans of space

Figures we'd get one of the stupidest goals I've ever seen.

Hamilton acting like we've won the game. A few good performances and that's it. Kenny still hasn't won a game and still should be relieved.

The last 10mins had a good old days feel to it. Delighted the crowd was so supportive and driving them on. If that shot from Omobambidele goes in I think the roof comes off. I know people will say it’s another moral victory and I agree it’s not worth much if there’s no win to follow up against Azerbaijan/Luxembourg but there was a lot of positives there again.

Serbia looked likely to pick us off for the first 20-25 minutes of the half, but we ended in some style. Really committed numbers to attack for the first time, and got the reward, albeit in lucky fashion.

Omabamidiele looked composed for the most part - some errors, but no more than anybody else. Idah did what he had to do well, Bazunu made some very good saves and survived one horrible lapse in judgement. Callum Robinson looked lively and put in two super deliveries, one of which lead to the goal.

Super atmosphere at the end, powered the team on.

Going for 1-1 tonight. No one can have a run of constant defeats and draws. Tonight's the night, a bit of luck and then people start jumping the gun saying "if only" until October comes around and normal service resumes.

I know my foot.ie.
Robinson a game changer when he came on

We huffed and puffed but to be fair at times the tempo we had in very shorts spurts if we could keep that going for 60or 70 mins instead of 6 it would be good

Bazunu and Andrew are good players. Andrews came from nowhere and all of a sudden, here's the thing if you're good enough you're good enough it doesn't really matter age or experiEnce the skill and quality will shine through

Fans in the stadium are certainly giving Kenny their backing. Most vocally from the signing section.

Whatever abour needing an o.g. we've deserved a bit if luck.

Good to see that rather than lumping it in the last few mins we were still trying to play football. I counted 8 Ireland players in the box in the 92nd min for a corner at 1-1.

It was a very poor performance from us again, Serbia win this game very comfortably 9 times out of 10.

The Serbian OG was hilarious, though. I laughed out loud at went that went in. If we were ever going to score, that was the only way it was going to happen.

Bazunu was one of very few bright spots, but still almost cost us a couple of goals.

Bazunu and Omabamidele were superb.
Doherty, McClean and Hendrick all very good too.
Definitely seems a bit more coherent, although the Serbs could’ve easily won it with 19 attempts on goal to our 6.

Just on a side note, Kenny was shaking Robinson’s hand afterward and Robinson didn’t seem too interested.
Are there certain players who don’t respect him I wonder?

Very good 2nd half performance- delighted for Kenny.

Can't agree with that. It was a one all hammering for us. Outclassed Serbia should have been 4 up so many missed chances bazunu excellent. What a ludicrous goal for Serbia to concede.

This was how we pulled out results inder martin o neill and got very little credit. The crowd drove us on but its all passion which is fantastic but its not a new ireland. We lacked so much control tonight they owned us. Horgan horrific what is he doing been involved if supposedly we are building for the euros and the same with mcclean.

Obobamideile super bazunu class, I love kelleher but going to be very hard for him to get caps now

Why wouldn't we have 8 in the box in the last minute at home??? The problem is when we have avlick out and we have 6 outfield player in our own area to ultimately end up with baxunu going long anyway or us giving the ball up just outside our area.
