I'll vote for WC2002, just because I don't think it deserves a whitewash.

2002, my favorite kit ever.

So while that one continues, time for the next battle. Two LoI stars of old modelling these ones. It's the 85/86 kit or the 06/08 kit. Your choice!

Solid 7-2 win for the Italia 90 kit there; that one might take some stopping during the competition.
Two more go up now though in addition to the LoI model clash. It's the 1994 qualifying identikit against the 2006 qualifying kit.

And the 2006 for sure. 1994 was too cut and paste. Would prefer it if it was more unique

Compared to the Liverpool away at the time and it shows how much better the shade of Green makes of it.

was that not albania in May 1992 that wore a kit supplied by us?
pineapple stu
24/11/2020, 6:30 PM
Yeah, it was the Albanian one that was done up for them. Full story here (https://museumofjerseys.com/2018/12/30/nothing-like-an-irish-welcome-twice-2/). It's well worth a read - lots there that I didn't know about, such as the Albanian government changing the crest the previous week and only faxing the design through to the kit makers in Cork the day before the game.
And we also kitted out Lithuania in the same campaign, which I never knew, as they arrived with one jersey and it clashed with ours. Again, story in that link.

Our tightest match so far just finished - with the last vote, the 85/86 kit pips it 5-4. I'm slightly surprised by that to be honest.
While I'm here actually, I'll chip in with a vote for the 04-06 kit over the 92-94 one for the same reasons John83 gave.
More retro action now as the 86-87 kit takes on the Father Dougal kit from 94-95.

Comfortable win for the 92-94 kit there, 6-2. Slightly surprised by that one too if I'm honest.
86/87 v 94/95 still open for business, as we move on to match 5, and a proper battle of new v old. It's the new 2021 kit against the "We woz robbed" kit of 78-83

Oh, and while I'm at it, I'll throw in my vote for 94-95. Like Bonnie, I don't really like all-green kits - though the 86/87 one is an exception to that for some reason. Maybe it's just because we had a player like Liam Brady back then! But Dougas aside, I do like the 94-95 kit and the bit of background design, so it wins narrowly for me.

I think the popularity of the 92/94 kit would be down to it being released during our formative years for those of us in our mid-to-late 30s.
I barely recall 1988, remember 1990 just, Euro92 qualifying passed me by, but WC94 qualifying is still vivid to this day.

I'm voting for the 2021 kit as it is a beautiful homage to probably our best ever (non-Italia 90) shirt.

I'd be a similar vintage (shall we say!) - Euro 88 is the earliest games I remember. But even still, that kit never did it for me. I think it's because the Italia 90 kit was so unique (and Euro 88 was very similar), and then we came along just copying Liverpool's effort (and, as tets noted, a few others too)
But everyone to their own in this thread of course!

You're right actually - I used the promo shot the first time, and this is the Elvery's shop listing. Will leave it be sure; might look at it in the next round if it gets through.

So the 94-95 kit is dumped out (again). 7-2 the score in favour of 86-87.
While the old v new battle continues, two more to add to the mix. Is it to be the Euro 2016 kit or the 2010-12 kit to reach the quarters?

I'll start the bidding by pointing to the hoops and lack of orange trim on the 2010-12 kit. So 2016 an easy winner for me here.

I don't get the ire for hooped socks.
I'm judging all of these on the shirt first and foremost.
