Dundalk have to many good players to not sort things out. If rovers lose today they are 7 points behind with 10 games to go .....potentialy 4 with 9 games to go if they beat us in oriel.
I am counting no chickens for rovers and expect dundalk to rebound

You’re more confident of a Dundalk resurgence, that could impact the title race, than any Dundalk fan. Though I expect it’s more a case of you trying not to get too giddy yet about winning the league.

Pardon my ignorance here but whos the Keegan chap on dundalk backroom staff have I missed a trick here?

Fairly certain it's Shane Keegan.

Final ball from rovers all night was poor.
Having said that I thought the goal had to come must have had 90% possession in second half.
4 points clear of bohs and 8 from dundalk....next couple of games will be interesting

Pats went with a 4-5-0 formation after the red card and invited rovers on but they didn’t have it in them to beat the 10 men. They really did look clueless as to how to break it down, Clarke didn’t have a save to make second half

Shane Keegan, opposition analysis.

Lacklustre game from Rovers against a committed pats defence. Having only 10 men on that pitch is less onerous than larger pitches maybe, but pats played well for their draw at home. The lack of a killer striker for Rovers is missed in games like this. Gaffney is not the answer anyway.
Next 2 games at home in tallaght should help.

Happy with that result after been down to 10 men for most of the second half. The lads dug in superbly and O'Donnell switch to five man midfield worked out well. They had more chances in the 1st half we had 11 on the pitch.

Greene after his chance in the opening few minutes was completely anonymous and neither Gaffney or Williams did much when they came on. Have to say that Byrne and Ferrugia are quality players.

Delighted to get the draw but in terms of entertainment it was awful. I can’t take to the LOI on the telly it’s always more compelling in person. It’s a totally different experience.

Thought that after the first weekend, its horrible watching it on stream, nothing beats being in the ground seeing all the things you never get from watching it on a one camera stream....

The scent of curry chips and deep heat along with cheap cigarettes combined with excess profanity make for a great night out.

Totally agree, I watched the first round of games but I’ve stopped watching other clubs games the last few weeks, very tough to watch when you’ve no emotional investment in the games and there’s no atmosphere. In the pats rovers game tonight Pats won a succession of corners in the first half attacking the new stand and it was genuinely strange/depressing not hearing the roar of encouragement that there would normally be when fans are there.

And the Dundalk Pats results in Oriel elevates again too.

Rumour on Twitter (ok one post) saying Rovers were informed today that they will lose their 3 points v Derry. No reason given...?

Talk is Rovers made 5 subs over 4 occasions which is against the rules. You can have the 5 subs but can still only make substitutions on 3 occasions.

I didn’t see the game but FlashScore seems to back up Rovers making subs on 4 seperate occasions.

I must state that I have no idea how it all works or if there is any credibility in the rumours.

If there is an issue that can't be it , scales watts and Williams all came on together.

Why would the fourth official allow that?

I thought a couple of the subs were at HT which doesn’t count towards the three sub stoppages. I can’t see it being related to the subs and really it just looks like a mischievous rumour. Unless it’s related to player eligibility. Were there any rovers players that played for the first division team aswell? TBH I don’t even know how that works anyway.

Scales and Watts came on at HT and Williams came on after 68 minutes so certainly did not all come on together.

Beyond that as I say just passing on the talk rattling round a few group chats etc I know little of the current substitution rules.

I didn't go through every game but, according to Soccerway, a week earlier, Pat's made 5 subs at 4 different stages (including 1 at half-time) in their game v Derry, so the same as Rovers did. In the UK, it would be fine - not sure if the rules here are the exact same.

Did Derry flag this at the time and maybe found out it's against the rules, so objected after losing the Rovers game?

Can't see anything in it to be honest, but the twitter poster (who has 90 odd followers including Declan Devine!) is very precise about the time (2.14pm today) that Rovers were informed about it!

Scales watts and Williams all came on together at 75 minutes, check watchloi if you need to.
Like I said if there is an issue that isn't it.

Bizarre listed in multiple places as Scales and Watts coming on at HT and Williams later but I didn’t watch it so consider that comment retracted and your word taken.

That was against Pat's.

The game in question, apparently, is Derry away.

Settlement offer revised. We will take 2 points Rovers can have 1.
