Bit early in the year to be down to the bare bones in fairness.

From todays Guardian
"Lampard will take the skeleton squad who have already reported back for pre-season to Dublin on Friday, with his first game in charge to be Wednesday’s friendly against Bohemians at Dalymount Park"
Who are these emaciated players they speak of?
Has Chelsea XI written all over it.

Surprised that Waterford and Sligo aren't competing for 3rd/4th.Two good football teams.Pats overacheived last season.Every fan's delusions about their own teams propects is a matter of course, but some of the stuff from some Pats posters on here is beyond that.
Pats fans I know have been seriously worried about the future for their team and club for a long timeThe sooner they face facts and move to Tallaght, the better for them.
The Astro in the new North Dublin County Council Stadium would be a better solution , Bohs and Shels on alternate Fridays and Pats on Saturdays. whats not to like and Dalymount is closer to Inchicore than Tallaght Stadium so its a better fit all round really.
The Government have been promoting Co-living in the inner city so it must make sense

Tbf I don't really understand the points being made about unrealistic expectations etc. The majority of Pats fans just don't want to watch the absolute tripe that Kenny is serving up when we have a squad capable of better. There were a notable number of people (a lot of them non Pats supporters btw) that seemed to think we'd be challenging Dundalk/Rovers, which was always mad, but it's not unfair to expect us to be right in there in the European conversation with Bohs and Derry, both of whom are probably overachieving vs expectation to the same degree that we're underachieving.
The more supporters of other teams see us play this season the more they'll understand the real issue at the moment. It's not about having unfounded demands for immediate success, it's that Kenny is absolutely winging it week by week and there hasn't been a single hint of progress or signs of a plan at any stage so far this season. The apathetic atmosphere around the place is up there with the worst I've ever seen and it's because the soul is being completely drained out of the footballing side of things.

The most worrying part imo. I can see things getting worse when Europe is done and dusted. The club seems to be lacking a bit of leadership.

As a matter of interest IF Pats got rid of Kenny now (I doubt it will happen before seasons end but let’s pretend), who would come in ? Long has agreed a three year contract pretty much ruling him out. Bucko has two year (I think) deal at Sligo, so who would you like ?

At this stage even though I don't think he's a good manager I would give it to Martin Russell until the end of the season. At least it will be a decent brand of entertaining football for awhile and he's a Pats man.
Alan Mathews is on our board now though so knowing Pats they'd give it to him.

Edit - one year. We offered 2 and he said he'd take a year for starters

Id like to see Curtis Fleming get the job , he seems to be still at a loose end after his Middlesbrough exit.

Hope the bohs and pats security guys will be on the look out for trouble during the friendlies with Chelsea.
There's potential for trouble.Only be's about 40/50 of them between the North & London but a vicious wee pack all the same.
I stewarded during the game v them in op back in 2012.Totally caught of guard by them.

If playing lets pretend then Alan Reynolds would be bailing up the motorway hoping for European football!

Would Pats be winning to pay Waterford ? (Or Bohs for Long ?) added to a large chunk of change to pay Kenny off ?

We, ahem, have a bit of experience in that area. Expect most of the crowd to be Oirish Chelsea day trippers but any pondlife that crawl in will be managed

Pats are chasing 3rd and 4th place, will finish no lower than 5th ( where they finished last year). Their stadium scheme is dead in the water unfortunately and their crowds are in the mid 1,500`s. They are a mid/upper mid table club, but their fans seem to see them as an Irish Barca or Ajax. Harry Kenny will do as much as he can with what is a limited enough squad. Whether Keith Long or Alan Matthews would do any better? I would have my doubts

It’s called being ambitious if we are satisfied to watch rubbish football week in and out the club will go nowhere. There is a balance to be achieved in not expecting to much but the Kenny era has fallen short of standards imo.

Ambition is grand as long as it is based on a sustainable model/structure and/or guaranteed forever and ever funding from a benign property developer . If your club has the latter then you really should be competing with Dundalk and Rovers

If we were in the position we are playing better football or at least a sign of progression most Pats fans would be happy with a new manager and team this season but with the way Kenny has us playing it’s just not acceptable. Having a team like Bohs who we expect and should be finishing ahead of above us definitely isn’t helping matters either.
