Travers with a couple of minor errors in first half per report but still 0-0, while Kilkenny appears to have been the most impressive Bournemouth player. From their forum,
“Smith looks very sharp already, Ofoborh did very well but the star ( and surprise ) of that half for me was Kilkenny. He was almost perfect for the whole 45, some great play. Hope we get to see more of him soon. Job done son, he can’t be expected to do much more than that to recommend himself to Eddie.”
On Molumby, the only news I have found is of a “slight injury” which precluded travel to Austria 10 days ago. Obviously protracted given the fact he didn’t even play for their “under 23s” last night.
Disappointed with Brighton prospects thus far. However, Kilkenny (welcome surprise), Obafemi (a full preseason will do his hamstrings wonders!), Smallbone (looks promising), Knight (another sub appearance today), Ronan (getting better and better), O’Shea (Could be first choice for West Brom), Idah (getting better), Johansson (needs proper football this year but has promise), Masterson (took the plunge dropped down a division, and made another sub appearance today for qpr), Collins (another sub appearance today, may need loan as stoke are overburdened with center halves), Power (impressive start with Ross county, has the pace, let’s see how he develops this season) have helped ease the disappointment.

Burnley split their squad for two friendlies today: Hendrick and Brady played against Port Vale: https://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/news/2019/july/port-vale-1-burnley-3/?utm_source=premier-league-website&utm_campaign=website&utm_medium=link, while Long and Dunne took on Crewe: https://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/news/2019/july/report-crewe-alexandra-v-burnley/?utm_source=premier-league-website&utm_campaign=website&utm_medium=link

Just noted Juve team. Bonucci up against him. Buffon in goal. Ronaldo starts. Almost a full team from them. Great stuff.

Awkward game so far for Troy. Spurs have an inexperienced back 4 and it's showing. They're going backwards in possession most of the time. Spurs are getting from back to front very slowly, when they manage to. Not really ideal for a striker to have 3 centre backs happily in position when your team has the ball.

Sets up the opening goal with a great off-the-ball run into space, and a shot which Buffon could only parry

I'd say he was always down to just play 45 minutes. Obviously despite the standard of opposition it is still just a pre season friendly but he played very well.

Early days, but I wouldn't be surprised if Parrott is in the Ireland senior squad by the time the playoffs roll around next spring (if we're in them). Even a handful of senior appearances for Spurs this season would probably take him ahead of Sean Maguire and Scott Hogan in the pecking order.

Said he also had a goal disallowed unfairly. Great way to get himself set up for the coming season, playing against a major footballing giant in a quasi-competitive fixture - should have helped cleared some nerves in advance of a potential senior league debut in the coming months

I hate to say it but from what I have seen of him, he is far more talented than both of those. He's at an elite level as far as what we have produced over the years. Keane and Duff had this amazing level of ball control and time on the ball and dribbling and striking and passing... I'm not saying he will be as good as either but he does have that skill level above most.

Yeah in fairness he is at a different level to anyone else we have at the moment underage . You could play him anywhere across your front 3 or as a 10 and he has the technical ability and football brain to do it well. Will pace be an issue at the very top level? Very lucky to have him I think

He looked quick enough for the goal he was involved in today anyway. The disallowed goal he scored probably wasn't offside but the Juve defenders had pulled up when the flag went up so no guarantee he'd have scored if the game had played on.

Loved Parrott's performance last night. I feel he will make his Spurs' debut some time this coming season. He was lucky not to be sent off though as his boot certainly made contact with the Juve player's cheek. Gary Breen was great too, he even apologized for his concentration on Parrott in commentary! Loved Spurs pressing game, now dreaming of Parrott, Afolabi, Obafami and Connolly playing together in a 4 man pressing forward line! May not happen, but this is a dream that was not possible two years ago. The future certainly looks bright.

Even in the shorter term the idea of him and Callum Robinson playing off McGoldrick gives me hope.
I was really struck by how ready for senior football he looked yesterday. To be honest if he was Welsh they'd just throw him in to the senior squad, maybe we should do similar. Spurs have Kane, Son and Moura so can ease him into their team but we don't have the same luxury.

Yeah, it's mad. He is getting a reputation as a 9 but, as you say, behind the striker or as a wide striker is no issue either. He played well alongside Son yesterday and Son occupied the 9 spot as much as he does the wide forward spot.
I think his football brain was summed up by that overload he created for that goal. What clarity of thought against a great defence.
As regards a senior call-up, we have been pulling lads from League Two and One for preliminary and final squads for strikers. I think a Spurs league appearance will get him in the frame. Kenny spoke about moving young lads up the age groups to senior level of necessary. He would gladly have Troy in his 21s squad but you have to imagine that between Mick seeing Parrott and a push from Kenny then he will be moved up.

Parrott really is something special. He was brilliant against United. Hes by far the best player we have produced since Robbie and Duff.
United have been raving about Mason Greenwood and how he is expected to make a big impact for them this year. From what Ive seen of both Parrot looks the better of the 2 players.

Connolly hasn’t played much, not on bench today, obviously not in Potters imminent plans. He needs to arrange a 6 month loan deal to championship or continent. One full season at under 23 level is enough, needs to take things to next level.
Molumby is not fit and won’t be involved until likely the second league game. His manager already stated that upon signing.
On brighter notes, Travers and Kilkenny start (albeit weakened team); Egan, Stevens, McG, Robbo (with 2 goals) started for Sheff; idah on bench again (he’s clearly in managers first team plans); no masterson on bench for qpr but 3 irish feature; O’Shea played last 20 minutes for Brom yesterday; Cullen on bench for Hammers.
Further a field, I note Nolan’s team mate Esposito starts for Inter, no sign of Nolan in extended panel, and no whiff of a loan with the serie b/c season starting shortly. He’s clearly no future there with Conte coming in doing him no favors. Hopefully Inter can at least help their Primavera captain out and secure a solid move away. Getting late in preseason now.

He is, I think. MON mentioned him one time as deciding to wait for England, but looking back at it, how firm a grasp MON had on these scenarios is questionable, with players not in his squad he said were waiting on England who in fact weren't, and one big ol blind spot around the lad in his squads who actually was waiting on England. Mahony won young player of the year last year at Birmingham, an assists man. Big potential but maybe hasn't fulfilled it.

Kilkenny did well again according to forum. Hard to read a lot into Bournemouth’s pre season, a lot of games in quick succession and a hybrid of teams each time. Travers conceded one late on. On forum, fans expect “first choice” keepers (boruc, Begovic) to be back next weekend, and are thinking Howe’s ploy preseason includes trying to put as many youngsters as possible in loan shop window. Would be great if it works out for Kilkenny.
Cullen and Idah came on as late subs. A couple of goals for Duffy as well for brighton
