Will be a Championship player next season giving him the test he needs at a higher level. Seems like Cullen Mark 2 as a diminutive, ex-West Ham defensive midfielder. Similarly seems a bit passive, needing to show for it more.

Impressed with Gilbert though. Looks to have a creative spark and a bit of confidence about him. Taken off late on to shore up the win. Interesting to see if he makes the more permanent, or called back if Azaz gets a move.

I think Coventry is a slightly poorer version of Cullen, doesn't have quite as much about him but he's tidy on the ball. This will be his third go in the Championship, and once again it will be with a team expected to be fighting at the bottom end of the table. Given the other two promoted teams are big spending Birmingham and Wrexham who are unlikely to be relegation candidates it will be especially hard for Charlton to stay up next season.

Impressed with Gilbert though. Same. He's a "busy" player, always trying to be involved and looking to do something positive.

He had a very strange loan at Charlton in second half of season. He only started 2 games out of 17 and came on as sub in 12 others. Then he was unused sub in first leg of playoff and started 2nd leg and then started league one final

With Gilbert I wonder will he have a shot at Azaz's position when he goes back to Middlesborough, assuming that Azaz gets the move we all assume he'll get

Wasn't Azaz signed because Gilbert was a dud who more often than not didn't impact even when he did manage to get off the bench ?
