4-1 Pike? What makes you say that?

Fair enough. Regional beat Aisling 3-1, Balla beat Geraldines 4-2, Charleville beat Nenagh 7-1. Some strange results down the bottom.

Referee hadn’t the balls to send off McGrath for challenge on Rainsford.Red all day.2 bad errors from both keepers.Boro management hadn’t a clue to see out this game when 2 up against 10 for 55 mins.Pike could easily have taken all points if Rainsford had pulled the trigger instead of trying to walk it into the net.Clarke had very poor game.Up against a young lad just out of minor, who had a very good game.Walsh ran the show when coming on and Pike probably would have won if he was there for the 90.But his country called.Boro could very well rue not taking all 3 points.

Ah Faceoff ...were you on a long holiday, great to see you back again and as usual going on that mini report/rant the all conquering Pike will humble all before them despite poor refs etc............Raging i missed this game ,however saw the Pike /View game and no sign of your contribution to that match where the ref denied the View a pen if not 2 and where the toothless Pike mgt couldnt see out the game at 1 nil.,your pretty selective when you come on here. Now obviously a fine comeback from Pike with 10 men ,its been a while since they beat Janesboro tbf.

Mulreadys mistake was a howler, very poor goal keeping,Clarke is always poor against Pike, what happened with Mullins I missed that?Pike for me were much the better team even with 10 men

Excellent match , pike should have won with 10players , the management team with the boro will regret not finishing off pike yesterday some very odd decisions, Shane Clark always finds it difficult against pike rovers , the Munster junior final he was very poor and he's record in the big games is not great. Both keepers were shocking but the young centre half with pike looks a player.

AA struggling, fairview starting to look good since they changed club policy, pike still look the strongest but at least other teams putting it up to both

Regional were full value for their three points tonight, Kimura with as good of a hat trick as you'll see anywhere. Second goal with the cut-back before hitting the top corner was incredible.
How either side weren't reduced to 10 men I'll never know, Thomas Clarke got wiped out at one stage with a disgusting elbow that didn't even result in a card while there were some Boro incidents (which I cannot remember who was involved for the life of me) also which very well could have resulted in reds.
It was all Regional from the word go with the exception of some spells maybe, Boro seemed to know the game had passed them towards the end and hence the barrage of goals. Not to say that they weren't deserved by Regional.

With regard to the league, AA have no chance having 10 points dropped already.
Rainsford banging them in for Pike, looking forward to Pat Sheahan putting up the current top scorer lists.
Balla sitting pretty on top but have yet to have a real challenge with the exception of Regional and maybe AA. Then and only then will you know what they're made of.

All in all, it's pretty open with a lot of football to be played. Good to see.

I realise you can't just invite every decent club from Clare, but it's surely in Newmarket Celtic's best interest to move to Limerick?
That Clare League is a bit of a joke, they're running away with it already. They won their seventh Clare Cup in a row last season ffs.
Obviously it's their own decision as they also have the benefit of easier paths out of town in the Munster Junior and the FAI.
Thoughts?

blueboy2
15/09/2018, 12:02 PM
Why not sure then Pike and Boro can pick off their best players and they will end up like Nenagh.

Treaty Gooner
15/09/2018, 2:09 PM
If Nenagh had kicked on from their first season in premier then they wouldn’t have this problem so it’s of their own making. Different breed in Clare by and large, a lot more loyalty.

Fairkop
15/09/2018, 7:40 PM
Blueboy is correct,Nenagh came in in a blaze of glory ,3 junior teams and had a decent enough first season.......regular defeats ,something they wouldnt have been used to in North Tipp, and the whole vibe changes ,now left with 1 junior team and they are struggling with many of their best players gone.Only way that changes is winning trophies and no matter who you are thats difficult in Limerick given the power of the more successful clubs...and they will attract the best players. The likes of Newmarket have a ready made journey out of their area in the big cups, thats not the case in limerick.

Sherrif had a big win themselves tonight. Massive defeat for Charleville but the managers of both teams and more importantly the referee should be ashamed of themselves. At what stage did it seem like a good idea to play on? 8-0? 11-0? 14-0?

Game in Munster needs to be reorganised. Some clubs in Limerick should clearly be playing at intermediate level. Same with the likes of St Michael’s, Clonmel Town, Carrick United, Killarney Celtic etc. Time for an MSL North and South league with the winners of each playing off to be crowned Munster Senior League champions. This kind of structure did exist in years gone by. Every week there are ridiculous score lines coming out of Limerick. It's got to the stage where teams don't want to be promoted to the Premier in Limerick as they would prefer to stay in 1A.

21/10/2018, 12:32 PM
It won’t happen because the clubs with all the resources here in the city are full of players and managers who couldn’t make it at a higher level and now think they are fantastic because they are hammering teams on completely different playing field.......and the funny thing is the standard in town has never been worse

Couldn't agree more, was saying the same myself to friends recently, a north Munster league, the bigger clubs and towns in it and let them fight it out, with the local leagues becoming competitive again underneath it.

The referee isn't entitled to call off the match unless both managers agree
