Seeing as it was becoming an issue for some people I edited the Wexford Youths page a bit. I changed the bit about the car parking and made it less prominent. Also tried to make it read a bit better in general.
I'm not big on the workings of Wikipedia but I'm learning some of the stuff. I might try edit it a bit more if I get some time. It's not looking too bad though at the moment I think.

Ok added a bit more and I think I've corrected a good bit of the spelling and that sort of thing.
Anyone got any feedback on how it reads or what could be added?

Thanks for that, I think a lot of the fixtures/news was put in early on when the official website hadn't been launched. The latest news section is certainly out of place in an encyclopedia but would be tempted to keep the fixture list for this season.

I've just started a WikiProject for Irish football if anyone would like to participate. It's still in its early stages, but you're all are free to join and express any ideas you feel would help.
You'll find it here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Irish_Football

I've updated the project page a bit and created a few new templates (for use on user-pages and talk-pages) to help direct people towards the page.

Anyone else having a problem with people constantly changing the Wikipedia page of their club?
The Wexford Youths page has been changes loads of times by Dundalk fans. Some of the references I had added to back up material have been deleted and I don't want to go looking for them again. Obviously some others are trying to correct the malicious edits too but some relevant stuff is being lost. It's constant and really annoying!

If you go to the "history" tab on the article, you should be able to look back through all previous versions of the article and find your version, including links, etc, fairly handily.

The Derry City article has been nominated for 'featured article' status (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates/Derry_City_F.C.).
Also, an article improvement drive has been created (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Irish_Football/Article_improvement_drive) as part of the WikiProject.

Can anyone help out a bit with the Wexford Youths page?
It was reviewed and since then I've tried to follow the advice in the review and fix up the article a bit. Someone else has also been tidying it up, but, I think they've deleted a lot of the history section unnecessarily. I reinstated the parts that I though were relevant only for the same guy to delete them again.
The history section is mentioned by the guy who did the rating, but, he only suggested making it more connected and easier to read, while making it less POV. I can't see why this other guy deletes the references to first games in league and cups as well as first goal, attendance and other events such as official website and supporters club. I don't think they were POV, they were referenced and, I feel anyway, relevant to history section. Maybe I'm totally wrong.
Would someone with a bit more know how mind having a look? Thanks.

Did you read that in the programme from Ireland Germany?
It's sort of true, he played for Mick Wallace's Wexford League under 18 side, which won the inter league title in 2000. Those teams were the foundation stones of the youths, the two stars on the crest represent the 2 inter league titles won by Wallace's teams (well it's three now, not sure if he'll have another star on the crest).
Anyway we're claiming him. So there.

Anybody with a bit of Wikipedia know how care to add the team crest back on to the Wexford Youths page? It was deleted because of something to do with "Fair use rationale for Image". Don't really know how to go about fixing it myself and don't really have the time or moreover the patience to find out.
Also maybe check out my other question about the history that was deleted.

That happened to the Waterford Utd crest aswell...I think you need permission to use it...if you upload the same crest again under a different name it should work for a few weeks at least..

This is why you cant trust Wikipedia 100% and ALWAYS have to cross reference. Kevin Doyle played for Wexford League U18s a few years before Wexford Youths were even thought of. He has only played for Reading and the National team since Wexford Youths started.
There is a connection but thats all it is ..... a connection. To claim he is/was a Wexford Youths player is 100% untrue, a lie if you will.

Upload the logo again. Then edit the page and add this:
Crest of [[Wexford Youths F.C.]]
source: <insert as appropriate>

It is asserted that the use of this image in articles pertaining to or in reference to Wexford Youths Football Club (WYFC) qualifies as fair use for the following reasons:
* It is a low-resolution copy of the logo;
* It does not affect the market for the original work — this is a logo created to promote a sports club, not a commercial work sold to the public for profit;
* By the nature of the image, no free alternative is possible;
* The logo is widely identified with WYFC via posters, kit, advertisements etc. and so the inclusion of the logo adds significantly to the articles in which it is used

I was just looking through the Drogheda United squad and the player list hasn't been updated. Some of the players have now moved on. And some of the profiles are just poor as well. Not necessarily lazy, just stupid. See Gavin Whelan's profile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gavin_Whelan).
He is the grandson of Ronnie Whelan, Sr., son of Paul Whelan the man with the biggest jaw in the history of Mankind , nephew of the legendary Irish International Ronnie Whelan

Time for an end of season bump for this I think. I've added some new stuff to the records section for Wexford Youths. The history section probably needs a re-write too.

Looking at the clubs too, the Cobh Ramblers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobh_Ramblers_FC) and Cork City (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cork_City_FC) pages pale in comparison to the St Patrick's Athletic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Patricks_Athletic_FC) page.
Don't be so harsh!
Myself and depor worked hard at modifying that page from what it used to be. Depor did the information side of things and I update the squad whenever neccessary.
