I know Longford were consistently rock bottom at the time but I was expecting youd be aware with the nature of the first division in that where you finish the year before is no indicator of where youll finish next season. Thus i ignored the fact he took over a poor Longford.
Bradley has done reasonably well compared to the previous four managers, but he is still likely to get the boot room job with the youths as soon as Harry Kenny agrees to take over in Tallaght.
I would agree that Rovers are not too far away from seriously challenging Cork/Dundalk next seaon, and, mad interviews aside, credit has to go to Bradley to pushing them on.

Fair comment and he has improved in terms of the press.
There is no chance of him getting moved aside for Kenny though. Next season with triming around the edges rather than wholesale changes will be interesting.

Actually while the truce between us exists I'd say that I'd give kieth long the manager of the year award. It's not a given the league winner gets it (Michael o Neil) didn't get it at rovers). Caulfield probably deserves it for cocsistant effort and finally getting there but bohs were a lot of people's tip for the drop pre season.

Was chatting about this earlier too. Long has done a great job.
Had Harps stayed up, I'd have gone for Horgan. He did really well with basically no money.
Shiels would be a shout for myself too, the way he handled himself after McBride's death. I'm biased with that one obviously though.

True he can be a bit mad sometimes but he was class st that time. Over full season he got Derry to Europe and played some decent football. Still reckon you'd have to give it to long.

Really depends on how interested he is. The obvious one and would great to see would him being back at Derry. But while in the 1st Division he would get kicked around the place, he has coped well enough before with lumps being kicked out of him with Luton. He could tear that league up if he keeps any way fit and motivated.

If he's training with Harps, he's nothing to fear kicking-wise from the First Division.

He was great for us easily our best player and that's with playing with an injury a lot of the time, can't see him staying though I'd guess if not Derry he may well just retire read recently he and Marty McCann were launching their new academy, Sligo were rumoured to be interested but couldn't see him travelling that far couple of times a week to train.

Seems mad that he would retire. If I was you guys I'd ask him to keep himself fit at home and rock up for the matches.

I don't believe McCourt will stay. He's not trained much the second half of the season and injuries have got the better of him. Reckon he'll retire, but if Ollie stays on as manager, he could well convince him to give it a year in the First Division. If he's offered a player/coach role, that could suit both parties.

Once you retire that's it
(Unless your Paul scholes ) he should go another year.

Well if you're going to argue you might as well do it in a row.

Far be it for me to speak well for anyone connected to b**s, but long his done a brilliant job there. Supposedly one of the smallest budgets in the league, and has them playing like a team. He could go to pats and whip them into shape, and turn them around from the expensive mess they are.

Agree with the sentiment regarding Long, some of the football Bohs play is really great to watch, wonder would they be a good bet for Europe qualification next season. As for Bradley, he comes across as a right moron in interviews.......is he really great behind the scenes?

Superb behind the scenes , involved in every aspect of club and academy.
Speaks really well at member/fan functions , the press see him as an easy target , he will learn to say nothing which is a pity in a way .

That was with longford town who at the time were perennial bottom 2 side of the forst division. If you are going to make comparison then at least compare like with like. Or maybe rovers are the modern day longford town

speakin of Kenny Shields was watchin scottish football on BT Sport and they mentioned that he was the last Kilmarnock boss to get them into Europe! he must have being fierce unlucky to have lost his job.

Maybe, maybe not. Expectations at Bohs were at an all time low when he took over. Once the supporters there start expecting more, that will be the test for him. Not saying he hasn't done well, cos clearly he's done a very good job with the resources he's had.
