Lets see how they do in England in May!

He probably does have a serious squad at his disposal but I've heard rave reviews on Colin O'Brien as a coach previously and I'm sure credit on this is due to him. It will be interesting to see how the FAI nurture his coaching talents.

Is he the guy who coached UCD during their EL run a couple of seasons ago?

Former Cork City winger.

Old interview with him here: 'I'd given everything to Cork, but there's always that tinge - that little bit of regret' http://the42.ie/3510296

That was Collie O'Neill, not O'Brien.

O'Neill is still UCD coach.

group D is tasty. hopefully we have a reasonable chance of fighting for top 2. Hopefully tg4 step in and show the games like they did the season mastersons group qualified cause it's hard to see eurosport not concentrating on group a and d.

For whatever reason, I imagine they are training over in the UK somewhere and didn't need to name the squad as early because very few are getting flights etc. England squad not named yet either. Nothing to back that up though.

No wonder Okoflex jumped ship. How the hell do you pick 2 strikers from that group?

I know - fantastic isn't it? Great to see Cassidy included after his season. And the midfield looks pretty good also.

Slightly off topic, but I see Tyreece John-Jules of Arsenal is in the England squad.

His uncle is Danny John-Jules, the Cat off Red Dwarf.

Disappointed that none of the broadcasters here have picked up the rights.

Ouch, tough start. Hopefully this is the result of the much-vaunted Belgian development system producing an outstanding team and that we can come back against Denmark and Bosnia - even though he wasn't involved in the qualifiers, maybe it's time to let Ryan Cassidy loose on the opposition after the season he had.

Anything but a Belgium win vs Bosnia to stay alive? A Belgium win and that's it?

my reading is that top two go through so if we beat bosnia that will be enough unless 3 teams finish on 6 points, then it goes to goal difference i guess.

Top 2 go to quarter finals. All still to play for.

Belgium beat Bosnia 4-0, so Bosnia is behind Ireland on goal difference now. That means a draw will do.

Seems consistent with updates from those who were at the game, which is that Denmark were awful and should have been put away.

The game has kicked off in Burton. A draw or better will mean we play The Netherlands in the quarter final on Monday. They have beaten Germany & Spain by an aggregate of 5-0 in their two matches so far!

Not televised but you can track it here - http://www.uefa.com/under17/season=2018/matches/round=2000830/match=2024309/index.html?iv=true

This guy Daishawn Redan of Ajax seems to be the main man for the Netherlands, he has scored ten of their eighteen goals in this competition (including qualification). You could say he's their Adam Idah.

My money is on Parrott to ruffle a few Dutch feathers.
