seen in the Longford Town notes that three of our lads that played earlier this season are no longer with us-Cody Mulhall,Gavin Boyne and Mark Langtry where are they now does anyone know? its partly my own fault as I havent being at a home game since the Sligo Rovers match and am so much out of the loop these days!

Was thinking Boyne and Mulhall had left. No real loss although Boyne showed glimpses and was a lovely lad, Mulhall will never be fit enough to play at a high level, hopefully he can make a good LSL career for himself he's still got a great brain

Mulhall had a great head alright but wasn't fit enough alright. No idea why Boyne was in the team.

I heard from a committee member at the game in RSC that deal has being agreed with Fenn to stay for next season.Going by my gut instinct and various mumurings at the game I have a feeling that Sully and Don Cowan wont be here with us next season.

It was my first time seeing Aodh Dervan play there. Hes going to be a star if he keeps a level head on his shoulders. He bossed the midfield and was superb in his timing of tackles. He covered a lot of ground. He was easily man of the match. Going by various tweets from other people at the game who were impressed with him that theres talk of cross channel interest.

My only worry is that hes small and slight but he has such a battler to make up his lack of inches.

Wouldn't be disappointed to see Don go but Sully has been back to his best in recent weeks, would be a huge blow to lose him and we'd get it very hard to replace him without spending a few bob (id love us to go for Marty Waters and Georgie Kelly in the off season).

Sully will be 30 in October, if he wants to potentially play in the Premier Division again then he probably won't get many more chances. It'd be gutting to see him go though.

Chatting to Marty earlier on there I think he might have over read some of the stuff he heard, doubt Sully will be going anywhere. As you said Hel be 30, has had a quiet season so interest in him unlikely to be high and as we've seen in the last PT training in Dublin really suits him so we are the perfect fit still for him.

I'd be surprised if he went now if Fenn is still in charge as I reckon they suit each other. He's not allowed leave before he reaches 100 goals anyway.

Great achievement and well deserved. By far our most consistent performer this year. Bizarrely didn't win a player of the month award, but hopefully will get player of the season if it's being awarded this season.

Thats confirmed by the way. Usual awards plus under 19 and under 17 as well. All are welcome to Longford arms after game. Great to have awards and social night back as badly missed.
Also heard from supporters club that noel haverty is retiring after game due to work. He will be badly missed and was a huge factor in our improved form in second half of season. He was a great servant in his five and a half seasons with us.

He picked up a lot of injuries in recent years. Probably right to call it a day, he's been playing a good while.

Hoping to get down for this one. I’ve been far too infrequent a visitor to the CCS this year. Hopefully there’s a decent enough turn out and we can end the season on a bit of a positive note.

Doubt many will turn out with so many from Longford heading to Aviva tonight and Cardiff Monday but we should spank Wexford that's for sure

Davy was talking about looking forward to next season under Neale in his interview on the club site so I think we can assume he’s staying on anyway.

by the way compiling the season stats over the coming days. I am going to give Sully the four goals v Athlone last time around and take the goal off Karl Chambers as the club confirmed this via the VT. He got 13 goals for us this season so only 18 goals for the tonne Davy!

Never thought I'd see a Town player getting close to 100 goals for us. With a bit of better luck with injuries he should do it next year. He tells a good story in that interview on the club site about Richie Parsons phoning him to congratulate him on breaking his record.

yeah heard that myself. have the season stats done so it should be up on town website over next while. Dean Zambra played every game for us in all competitions which was 35 games in total.Sully had an impressive 13 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions.I wont spoil the rest so read it at your leisure!

cheers Cabs it takes a hell of a lot of time and patience to do this which is why I dont be out too often! I will have a book out eventually as have the season stats as far back as 1935/36 so I am nearly there now. I am at this since 2009!

seen that Rhys has left us according to our website. He didnt make too appearances over the last season-around 13 or so but he got over 100 appearances in his career with us. He spent over four years and a half with us and I would like to wish him the best of luck in what he does. Our website doesnt say where he has moved to but I am sure we will find out eventually!

At least they’ve said good luck to him on the site. I do recall a lot of anger a couple of years ago when Salmo was let go without any acknowledgement. It wouldn’t be up to the Town to say where he’s going and he probably isn’t fully sorted yet anyway. Should stay away from Athlone for many reasons but otherwise best of luck and cheers for everything.

oh by the way the season stats should be on our website by now after speaking to our webmaster last night! forgot to say that Dean Zambra is the first town player in 11 yrs to play in every single game in all competition since Kirbs in 06!
