All I'm hearing from anyone who's seen them pre-season is they look way better than expected, but with Mahon in charge I'm not really surprised. Limerick are spending all the money, but Drogs look the choice to win the league for me.

Not a bad bet at 8/1

Our game with Shelbourne has been moved to the astro pitch at Fahy's Field, Mervue due to Deacy Park being unplayable.

Our game v Athlone goes ahead this afternoon but their game v Wexford is off. As predicted earlier in the thread before the Wexford game was even confirmed.

Was it the FAI or Leinster League or someone else responsible for our friendly to be cancelled to accommodate this game that both Athlone and Wexford knew they wouldn't be fit to facilitate? And now our friendly has been fixed at a bad time that will stop a good few supporters from going to. And so the circus begins!

You can't really blame anybody else for you scheduling a friendly on the same day as a cup match.

In terms of rescheduling for a 3.00 kick off you can't blame anyone else. But it was the FAI or LSL that insisted that Athlone had to play Wexford today, when our game was already sanctioned. They appear to be playing each other in a friendly next week anyway so why can't that be the LSC game?

I think we had the friendly scheduled before they organised the cup game.

Athlone v Youths was arranged as a friendly for 20/2 weeks ago. When we were drawn in the LSC, it was agreed by the FAI to waive the 31/1 deadline to play LSC ties and convert the friendly in to the cup game. It was not a recent development as some are making out.

I said above that it made no sense not to change that friendly to a LSC game when it was already arranged. It does seem to have been a fairly late decision to insist the tie had to be played this weekend when the FAI had already approved our friendly with Athlone. What difference would a few days have made? As it turns out the game couldn't be played today anyway. Nonsense.

Matthews wanted it next Tuesday, the FAI insisted they honour the LSC fixture. An away midweek fixture at this stage has our pre-season schedule out of sync.

Lost 3-1 V Bray in LSC it's only early days but certain things were slightly concerning but Fagan looked lively & if he gets the service will score plenty this season.

Wonderful, emotional scenes in St. Colmans Park tonight as minnows cobh ramblers beat First Division Champions 2016 Limerick FC 1 - 0 in the Munster Senior Cup. It's giant killings like this that make football the beautiful game.

Lulling everyone into a false sense of security

We used a good few u19s by the looks of things but given that we're apparently relying on them for cover this year it's a little concerning.

Im not worried by last nights result. It was a hugely experimental and youthful side and Skinner has looked a lot more confident in the games I've seen him so perhaps Molloy just isn't at that level yet? Hopefully no injuries between the posts this season so.
The centre back injuries are a worry at the moment

Pre season or not that was a full town team today bar Pat Flynn. Disappointing result and if we get any more injured we will be in serious trouble. First game is must win as I can't see us getting too much from the likes of Pats and Cork in the opening games.

I have predicted us to finish bottom and nothing I've seen in pre season will change that. We have a team that will struggle to score and with TC if Plan A doesn't work stick with Plan A! It could be a very long season.

Can't imagine we'll be higher than bottom three anyway. Unless some of the young lads develop quicker than expected we've a very weak squad this year. Not quite sure why, don't think there's any major money issues as far as I'm aware.

No money issues at all as far as I can see or hear! What I do know is that this season we will be in trouble. I think that TC will stay on as manager even if we get relegated!

I get that feeling about TC too, strange. Anyway let's not be talking about relegation for now. 3 points tomorrow and we've made a better start than last season straight away
