The Hoops will take part in the Sait Nagjee Tournament in the city of Kozhikode, located in the Kerala province in the south-west of the country. The eight-team competition will start on February 2 or 3 and will run for the best part of three weeks.

Pat Fenlon’s side will be the only senior team competing but they will come up against some high-calibre opposition.

No ordinary preseason for Shamrock Rovers. Off to India to compete in a tournament for development teams.

Rovers fans will be busy making travel plans.
That's a surprising one - seems to have been a late development as we've cancelled the Cobh friendly, so hopefully we can fulfill that next season if it suits them.

Should be a decent test against good opposition. The Argentina team will be domestic players so they'll be in pre-season, but the Watford and German teams are in-season so whichever we play of them will be a good challenge. Hopefully a couple of Irish players are in the Watford team if they play us.

Interesting, choice, 65% humidity and evening temperatures in the 80`s this time of year. Difficult to turn down an all expenses paid trip though. Pats used to do this kind of touring under Kerr, Iran and China, afaik. Didn`t do them any harm at the time.

3-3 draw Kurtis Byrne hat trick for Bohs

That was an enjoyable enough game on the astroturf last night in Ballybrack, played at a good pace throughout. Cabo were decent and took 3/4 chances. Bohs had a good last 30 minutes and pulled back three goals in ten minutes and then hit the post twice with the rebounds disallowed for offside.
Ben Mohammed played well when he came on and Kurtis Byrne`s second was worth spending a Monday night looking through a green wire fence trying to distinguish players in all green and all blue.
The one time when Buttimer would have been welcome as a ref.

Doesn't have the football brain that Forrester had but in terms of his dribbling and skill and probably his strength too (very strong for a small player) he's right up there. He just needs to be coached a little better on when to release the ball and his crossing could be better too.

Gallagher is a solid enough goalkeeper to be fair. It's hard to know how he will fair in the Premier Division though.

Winn was probably 3rd choice when he signed for us behind Gleeson and Hanley, but he was easily one of our better performers towards the tail end of the season after he got in shape. He surprised a lot of people (including myself).

While Brush isn't any world beater, he's experienced, won league titles, played in Europe, and he's available and willing to play for Finn Harps.

Ciaran Gallagher will most likely be number one in any case, and we're in need of another goalkeeper.

He is a decent player at Premier Division level, he would certainly be an addition to Harps. He's a wide player who is relatively pacey and direct. He played a fair amount of games for Bray last season and they did relatively well.

Yep, it's a new tactic we're trialling!

Can't see what Suly posted above, but basically yes, the two games are down for the same time. Players had to be registered something like 10 days in advance of the MSC game, and with the embargo only lifted during the week that means none of the seniors are eligible, so it'll be last year's 19s (and maybe even some 17s) who will be flying the flag. We have great faith in them nonetheless. :D
