Just because you're too lazy to do the First Division:

1. UCD 2.0
2. Shelbourne 2.30
3. Athlone 2.31
4. Finn Harps 4.69
5. Wexford 5.07
6. Cobh 5.23
7. Waterford 6.46
8. Cabinteely 8.0

Interestingly, not one person has predicted Cabinteely to finish off the bottom.
Only Athlone, Shelbourne and UCD predicted to win First Division.

We haven't been great in pre season, I think teams will be better set up to deal with our style of football, we won a lot of games 1-0 or 2-1 last season, other teams will improve...take your pick!

In the premier I reckon the top 4 could be interchangeable and the same with the bottom 4. Most teams near the bottom will be relying on players staying injury free, a couple of injuries to any of those squads could be the difference.

The first division is completely up for grabs. I have Cobh second from bottom but they have signed well and could easily be one of the top teams this year.

I know it was only the munster senior cup but from what I saw of cork, there wasn't much creativity going forward and when they pushed on they become very vulnerable at the back on the counter attack. Set piece marking was dreadful when you consider the height advantage they had at the back. I reckon cork will have to play wih a fairly conservative approach to protect the back 4.

I don't really understand so many people floating Shamrock Rovers to the top, is it just the Fenlon factor? SQuad doens't look any better than recent years.

Maybe the additions of Keith Fahey, Danny North, Mickey Drennan and these lads from Hibs, as well as Stephen McPhail getting a pre-season with the club, combined with getting rid of a lot of the underperformers of recent years will have helped. They've as strong a starting 11 as anyone in the league now and they'll be hard to beat.

I think they'll be very similar to Cork last season. They'll grind out a lot of wins. Rovers were a tough team to play after Fenlon came in.

That and some decent signings. He is a good coach and has control over the board. So it's just a matter of time.

That's true, that 0-0 draw towards the end of the season in Oriel Pk was one of the toughest points we earned all season.

Not sure they will win it though, I dont see their forward line being stronger than last season for starters.

I`m still thinking up my predictions, changed it twice already !

That is a standard pre-season foot.ie statement for the last 3 seasons.

Without doubt they will be hard to beat - in typical Pat Fenlon style. They have signed a number of players who are unproven or unknown in this league and the impact of Mickey Drennan and Gareth McCaffrey in particular, along with the fitness of Danny North will be key to their title chances

I never get these right but here goes anyway

1 Shamrock Rovers
2 Dundalk
3 Pats
4 Cork
5 Sligo
6 Bohs
7 Derry
8 Longford
9 Galway
10 Drogs
11 Bray
12 Limerick

Realistically the bottom half could finish in any order. I'd like to think we'll have enough experience to grind out enough points to stay up but it won't be easy. Just have a feeling Shamrock Rovers are bound to be a lot better this year.

First:
1 Athlone
2 Shels
3 Wexford
4 UCD
5 Harps
6 Cobh
7 Waterford
8 Cabinteely

That division will be ridiculously tight aside from Cabinteely though so again I could be way off.

Again probably bar the bottom the table the league is up for grabs but I see Athone Shels and UCD been the top three.

League Cup: Sligo Rovers.
FAI Cup: Cork.
Setenta Cup: Dundalk.

A lot are underestimating Waterford this year on ths basis of probably our the worse season in the clubs history and don't expect us to improve. But we do have some very talented young players in the squad this season - I'd like to point out U19s lost just one league game all season (Hearing 8 or so on top of the 20 first team players have signed for the first team). Our biggest problem is there next to no experience in our squad, at a guess our average squad age is probably about 21. Willie Jon Kiely is probably our most experienced player, although Vinny Sullivan and John Frost are now coaching at the club which is great experience to have around the squad. We're looking like we'll be competitive this season and don't see us as been 'guaranteed points' to any team unlike last year.

Can't see past Pats winning with Dundalk and Rovers battling for second which could go either way.
Dundalk are stronger than last year apart from up top and while being very difficult to beat we won't be getting anything close to scoring as many goals as we did last year. If we are close to top going in to the transfer window and get someone decent in we might have a chance.
Cork's style of play and Caulfield's inexperience will be found out badly this season but their squad is still strong enough to there or there abouts.

Sligo could be dark horses this year. I have them at fifth but they really could pull off a few shocks and challenge for Europe.

FAI Cup: Rovers
League Cup: Dundalk
Setanta: Dundalk
