Have to agree with you here bud, Jason Forde is an exceptional player. He's been around the league with a few clubs but i think he's finally starting to settle with Fairview. Fairview have a lot of good players and that's why it's hard to see the club not being promoted. Once they stay together and add to the squad i'd like to say that they will challenge for the league again next year and not fall at the last hurdle.

This will all depend on what the lads in the AUL do with the leagues next year, with the recent promotions from the leagues below it could be Northside derby's every weekend. Although this sounds great I personally don't think this would work. AUL 1 this year had a good balance and now the league will being going to a team outside of the city.
I thought you were Fairview - haha!

The game between the glen and crescent was ruined from start to finish by the performance of the man in the middle. He is an absolute embarrassment he made the game about himself. He bottled major decisions for both sides and let the lines make all the calls for him. How he reffed senior league is beyond me

Sorry bud no coachford man playing with tower all players on tower team are local. Couple went to play with coachford for a season but came back again. All local lads doing local team proud this year. 21 league games unbeaten in any division great achievement. As regards coachford giving walkover today, the only word for that is cowardly

Congratulations to Tower well deserved have some great players mid fielder from coachford fantastic little player. surprised coachford would give up without a fight at this late stage of the season. but think innish had the better chance of promotion. will be interested to see if they can do it.

Wrong information bud.
all tower and blarney lads on tower team.

With innish getting beat coachford threw in the towel a bit early.
To go a whole seaaon training n playing games every week and to just give up like that is really mystifying.

It actually makes no sense not to even try and go and get the win they needed to throw 9 months down the drain is mind boggling!

They will be sick this evening when they saw innish lost!
It really questions there character!

No 4 players from tower played for coachford A last year . 3 went to tower this year and 1 stayed out in coachford.
Taggy terry n doyler went to tower and remain there.
Giving a walkover is gutless to be fair. I get over it if it was a team at the bottom but still in with a chance of promotion is just mad really

Thanks for clearing that up. I had no idea i was wrong about the location of these players. walk overs are not a nice thing. and its always going to happen at the end of a season. Something need to be done about that .i don't know what but something none the less.

Have to agree with you here, I went to watch the game myself and some of the decisions made were very bad. I'm not sure if he was intimidated by the supporters or what but in my view he denied Crescent a clear penalty. The sending offs for both teams were harsh but having had the same referee in charge of a game we played in this year once he sent someone from Crescent off I knew it was only a matter of time before someone from Glen Celtic was going for an early bath.

At the moment there are a few refs in the AUL that are making the game all about themselves, i don't know are they encouraged by the AUL to hand out the cards to make money from the fines I can't say that is the case but there has been some difference in yellow & red cards in the game to what there was 5 years ago. There are some very good lads reffing at the moment so we can't tar them all with the same brush, these are the kind of refs that are approachable, that will explain why they are booking you instead of just pulling out a card on a first offence. These are the fella's that are willing to let games flow rather than stopping every few seconds to give a pointless free kick.

Getting back to the Crescent/Glen game, it was a good game from my point of view. The Glen have a very good striker who on his day could rip any team apart. He's a premier player who i believe is committed to playing ball with his friends in a lower league. Have to respect that really. It will be a good final between Glen Celtic and Fairview and giving that it's a Northside derby that will add a little extra bite to it.

Congrats on the league win, for a league that was being pegged as a two horse race for most of the season ye came out of nowhere and took it. Very good result against a team that hadn't been beaten all season. From what i heard of the game they didn't have a sniff. Ye can thank Fairview for running them into the ground and mentally draining them after last Saturday afternoon in the Fairfield.

Best of luck playing Premier next year.

Just a query - by my calculations before last weekend coachford & tower had 1 game left against each other - by reports on here Coachford gave walkover - not by AUL tables tower finished with 21 games (and 3 points) but coachford still with a game left to play???

The walkover would only have been discussed at last nights AUL meeting. The walkover isn't clarified until the Wednesday so I'd say give it a few days and it'll be finalised. Those tables are from Monday.

If it's a draw you'd have to fancy Macroom to win on goals scored over the two games surely, if that's how it works.

Thought it was a good game to be fair was expecting a lot worse. Loads of goals. Referee was a very harsh at times blowing up for stupid things slowing down the game. Macroom will be kicking them selfs after missing 3 one on ones. All over for them now I'd imagine.

Well able to score goals but when conceding 7 in two games it would be hard to get promoted but you would never know in football think inishvilla are an ageing side so not too sure on them even if they get up this year but who knows

2nd team always use the town park as some prefer it down there. There defence is poor to be fair. A few of them could but won't. The 1st team is a joke but could all change under new management next season.
