Moroney is exactly what Celtic need up top to cover the loss of o hara for first couple of months. Any other friendly results over the weekend?

Aaron Moroney would be a great signing even if O Hara wasn injured two of them up top would give any defence problems plus I heard Paul Kennedy isn signing so Celtic need someone else up front.

Just wondering are there any teams that aren't going to be entering this year.. just wondering the effect of emigration on clubs
balls
27/07/2013, 11:23 AM
A lot of clubs will be severely weakened due to emigration but I believe all last years clubs will be back. Can't see the premier league being as competitive as last year as bridge, cashel and cahir have lost players so Peake look to be the only contender outside the big 3. Division 1 looks like a good league this year . Ttfc and bansha look to be favourites to go up.
biglad101
27/07/2013, 3:20 PM
Bansha must of signed a few cause they were awful last season, no the prem is a step up so its hard to no. Galbally will be there or there abouts any word on wilderness rovers no they were struggling for players?
West Hammer
27/07/2013, 8:55 PM
Heard Bansha have all the players back that got them to last 32 in FAI plus 6 new signings. Will be a lot of local derby's as there are 5 west Tipp teams in 1st Div.

Division 2 will be short two teams now without Albion and BallyPatrick. Bit of a shock alright with ballypatrick folding what went wrong for them

Rumours that the Manager went to Old Bridge and some of the players went with him and things just fell apart. Sorry to see a fairly new club that seemed to be doing all the right things go out of football. I'd say only 1 from last seasons div 2 will go down and one of the 3 teams that finished tied 3rd in Div 3 might be asked if they would be willing to go into Div 2. Then only one would go down in Div 3 to even things up again.

There is a real shortage of players this season. Youths football looks like being down to just 7 teams

A big problem as well is the standard of youth football,it's just not producing the players for clubs junior teams that it once did, clonmel town and saints could have joined together last year and you wouldn't have picked a good team between them and that's very unusual for both clubs

The biggest problem with Ballypatrick was there actually wasnt too many players from Ballypatrick. They were mostly from Clonmel , once they started to leave Bally were left with nothing

The standard of football in south tipp schoolboys is dropping. The U14 kennedy Cup Team this year came 31st of 32 leagues. In the last 5 years this marker of the state of football in each league has seen south Tipp fall away to just an also ran. This will impact on youth football and the Junior leagues for years to come.

Thats probably the best thing to do keep the numbers even enough in each divison. Think prem will come down to michaels and celtic, town havin really improved on last year well from what ive heard they havent roll on 24/25th of august.

I dunno have they signed but Wack o donnell and Aaron moroney have been trainig with celtic plus signed a keeper dave cummins i think his name is. Michaels have a few signed from limerick plus the keeper from cahir. Who have town signed? And they lost a great player in raymie condon be hard to replace. Season is starting that weekend.

Wack scored a hat trick for Cahir the other night. Moroney would be a great signing if he sticks it out. The keeper from Kilkenny, I was told by an Evergreen man at the Town match last week that he couldn't make Evergreen B team. Raymie hard to replace but Town have signed a few. We will see. Just don't think Town can be dismissed.

Didn no that about wack doubt he has signed so aaron be great signing tho. I think celtic dont need much anyway jus keep there sqaud from last year together problem is in goal tho with richie out be hard to get someone as good and by the sounds of it the lad from evergreen isn up to much.

Both Aaron Moroney and Paddy O'Donnell signed for Celtic last night.

You have to remember the reason Wack has been playing with Cahir and Ballypatrick is because he was never a regular starter for Celtic once they got in all the top players, scoring goals in the first division doesn't change that,he will be good back up, Moroney is a fantastic signing as is Aaron Wall going to Saints, not sure who from Limerick has come in so they are the only real transfers of note

I disagree in my opinion paddy wack Is the best striker in Tipperary, the reason he hasn't played premier in the last couple of years is because he doesn't train and is fond of the beer.

"If my best mate wasn't a heroin addict he could have won gold in 100m in olympics".....how many times have we all heard that one, he was a sub against kilbarrack and in all the big games because there were simply better players available to Karl and Kenny, you can be sure there are players at Saints/Town and Celtic who are poor trainers but are in the first 11 because they are too good to leave out, that's part and parcel of junior football

If he trained he would have been a regular. He doesn't have a desire to do well, it will be interesting to see how long he even lasts. "IF" he got his head down & worked hard for himself & the team then there are few better anywhere, unfortunately he never will do as he likes the booze to much and is far to lazy to really ever do anything. Unfortunate as he has the ability but he's wasted it.

Desire is an attribute the same as being good in the air, pace etc...if you spoke to players in all 5 divisions they would tell you about players who could play at higher level "IF" they wanted it more, IF is the biggest word in the english language, players are where they are due to ability, hunger and desire to represent themselves well, certain lads prefer the easy way out and have lads tell them how good they could have been....drink up lads...drink up

I disagree, ordinary players with very limited "ability" can show desire and achieve something. Desire is more of a character trait than an ability. Ability is something that certain players have, some more so than others. Paddy Wack has bags of ability, but essentially it's the same end result as he doesn't have the desire to make the most of it. The reason he won't be a regular Is that there are players there that can be trusted to give everything in every game. Not because they are better players but because they have better attitudes. As I highlighted myself "IF" his attitude changed there are not many better around. However it 99% certainly won't. Can he be an asset from the bench, possibly so.

I can see what your saying but i think desire and dedication are all part of the make up of a player, don't remember wack ever being an oscar traynor player or outscoring paul kennedy when celtic were not winning trophies, he's a decent player, pa quinn, o hara, moroney all better players, best of luck to Celtic for the season

In my opinion no player is too good to be left out of a side, if you don't bother training you shouldn't be picked its not fair to the lads who are committed and will only cause hassle in the long run

That's lovely in theory but it's not realistic in junior football....for example if Chawky Walsh is caught with work for 6 weeks and can't train and its FAI Quarter final weekend and Munster Semi the week after you drop him because he couldn't train?

No you took me up wrong, of course allowances can be made for work or holidays etc but my point was about the lad that doesnt bother training cause he'd rather drink or do other things, these lads should be left out at the expense of a less talented player that gives you his all week in week out.

I have to agree with Celticlads , Players are not professional and need to work , go away on courses , study etc. Allowances should be and probably are made at most clubs for things like that. Its the lads that go drinking , watch champions league and stay in on the couch when its cold and raining that are the plague of a lot of clubs. And im sure it happens at every club , the buck stops with the manager and if you have a strong enough character there he should be able to deal with it but unfortunately for some clubs the panel isnt always strong enough and the players that take the p#ss often continue to get away with it

Sure that is exactly what I have been saying, whether people agree or disagree with it panels are never strong enough to leave out the top guys but in the case of Karl and Kenny they had better players available so left wack o donnell out of all the big games

Least theres a discussion goin on if you could call it that, this thread was very quite good to see people back posting. As far as wack goes no one can deny he's a great finisher if he just put a shift in everything would be fine. Dunno how Karl and Kenny will keep everyone happy Moroney, O Hara, Wack, Kennedy nice to have them 4 plus Evan and Dwanye serious attack.

Any transfer news for premier teams season only two weeks away now think Michaels or Celtic will win it and bridge and glengoole to go down.
Glengoole will struggle and between Cahir and bridge for other relegation spot. Both have lost a couple of there better players. Celtic may start as slight favourites but expect big challenge from saints on all fronts this season. Really good additions brought into saints squad and look to have cover for all positions this season. Any word when fixtures are out
