At 11:00 this morning the FAI will launch their new logo, new merchandise and new website, from Jury’s Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin.
I think it's important that everyone keeps an open mind about the changes and gives the FAI a chance to realise their marketting potential.

This isn't very open minded but I bet the new strip and the new logo are horrible.
Plain green shirt with no patterns or stripes or hoops please. Bring back the old shamrock logo from the 50s!

They are for the kit and general gear but the FAI will sell a range of leisure wear produced by a seperate company as far as I know.
All will be revealed!
How late will the press conference be?
I say 45 minutes. These things always are.

How hard is it to keep time? What good does running late do anyone? I know it's common practice, but it's still infuriating!

Well if they don't "switch on" their own new site & put details there then not much hope for 3rd parties to do it...?

There was a press launch scheduled for 11:00 today Pete.
If the media turned up they surely derived some "news" from it?

You can just see it, a bunch of suits with bottles of Ballygowen out front gathered around a big green button " And before giving John-jo the honour of pushin the big green button, I'd like to make a short speech." (Pulls out 50 handwritten pages)

But they probably all still in the Hotel Bar junket ;)

Amazing how they can mange to updated the current site with Shelbourne result but don't think to mention anywhere that they are launching a brand new site today at 11.
and it's 1 now and still nothing being heard, surely the current site will have to go down for a while if they are going to use the same URL , probably be back up in time for euro 2008 qualifiers.
otheriwse maybe they are just going to use a new URL www.givesusyourmoenytoregisterfornothingyounumptie s.ie

In fairness, the former is of far more relevance and interest to Irish football fans than the latter. Wouldn't you say?

Agreed but i doubt if too many Irish football fans had to go onto the FAI website to find out how Shels done. however when we have been told there is a new logo , new wesbite being launched today then you would imagine that the FAI website might be a good place to find out some info on it but obviously not

True but it's still embarassingly shambolic.

It's down now. The store wasn't open yet but you could register. Theres a fans section but thats down too. Theres also a history bit. The logo was quite nice. The green colour was lovely for a change.

No, it's there alright. The jury's still out for me, but it's definitely an improvement on the last effort. I look forward to an avatar of the new logo... ;)

Very good and I love the logo.
Top marks.
Simple but classy looking.
It's alright. In terms of the crest i personally would prefer something a bit more traditional to be honest. Jersey is half decent apart from having Eircom splattered across the front of it.

if your trying to access it from a link on your favourites menu you'll ahve tyo delete your old favourite and go to a new browsers and go to www.fai.ie again and it should be ok.
so who's joined the Fan Club, 30 euro mmmm.

It's a lot better than what I was expecting.
Fair dues...
/edit, I'm still gettting the old site. The link in the Screenshot doesn't work either:
www.fai.ie/index.asp

I've been entering the URL directly (www.fai.ie and www.fai.ie/index.asp) and it keeps redirecting me to http://www.fai.ie/FAI/Welcome+to+the+FAI.htm or telling me that index.asp doesn't exist.
Guess I'll just have to wait a little longer to get a good look at the site/badge/shirt.

I don't think that's the problem for me.
The old site must be cached on the server.
Can someone post a link to a new section on the site?

I keep getting the old site too
Site looks better mainly cos has more consistent colour scheme.
I can't find any National League section  Found table section alright which is badly laid out as very wide tables. Even at 1152*864 resolution i have to scroll across a lot to see.
Dunno what kind of resolution will display this properly! (http://www1.fai.ie/feedback.asp) Sloppy work
I don't like the crest & IMO will be changed again within 10 years.
Try:

Works fine for me now!

Christ, that's one boot ugly logo.
The site is looking better though.
New logo, new site, same old ******* running it. What's the point?
The website is running and the new badge is up.

At first site it looks like what my late pooch used to eat for his supper.

Have a look at the eL section. http://www.fai.ie/list.asp?lid=eircom_league Jokers.
I take back any positives i said about the "new" site. The layout is dire!!!!! I dunno what resolution it developed on but would be common practice to test it out on more standard user setup
Also while i am it why launch new site but not launch shop & leave some secions blank.

Very flashy crest, no doubt it'll be completely dated in six years and will require updating
It could have been worse (e.g. the previous version) but it's not good.
Site'll be ok once they iron out the gliches
