Cork at 4/1 is a very good price. We are definitely missing Chambers, Bolger and Rossiter, John Russell might be out as well. That's our whole midfield gone

It's a mini list of suspensions this week as only five players and one official face into not being able to take part in games this weekend. Nicky Curran is down to four games left in his ban as his team mate at SD Galway Brian Geraghty joins him for reaching four yellow cards.

Gary Kelly for Mervue United, Greg Bolger for St. Pats and Keith Quinn of Monaghan United complete the playing list. Roddy Collins has been handed a one match ban.

The list in full is:

Automatic Suspension in next Airtricity League match

Greg Bolger (St. Patrick’s Athletic) 1 MATCH 4 Yellow Cards
Nicky Curran (SD Galway) 4 MATCHES Additional Red Card Suspension

Weirdly, I fairly confident of getting a result there. Since the loss to Waterford, our away form is 100%. Might not be a win of course, but I wouldn't be displeased with a draw.

We had a lot of the ball but cork had a peno....shocking peno/great save.....

Played everyone now and with our 1st 11 dont see anyone better than us, dont see us winning anything but we will draw a lot of games and be really hard to beat.

I think it was yeah. Livescore had it as Skelly but extratime said Lee so I'd be pretty sure it was him.

We played like clown shoed clowns for 90% of the game tonight, I was almost hoping we'd drop the points to finally bring a few things to a head.

Lord though SD Galway are shocking! Their keeper has no hands, right back was an absolute lost boy, never seen the likes of him, they had a black lad in the middle who literally cannot trap the ball. In fairness the captain has a good bit of spirit about him and their strikers aren't completely terrible but sweet divine I'm struggling to think of a poorer team I've seen and bear in mind I've followed Limerick for 17 years!

What's the politically correct term??

Genuine question, I can't think at this hour of the night - like he's hardly an African American is he?!

Acornvilla
12/05/2012, 1:00 AM
Any of my ''coloured'' mates are generally fine with being referred to as black, ye'd be hard pushed to find anyone offended by either term anyway

And yeah the game on the second should be a cracker, we might finally see a decent crowd and all, not taking it for granted that we will beat Salthill in between of course, but theres something seriously wrong if we feck up against them again.

Anyway political correctness is gay..

I was thinking "black" but then decided against it and thought I was being more politically correct putting "coloured", it's a minefield!!*

Ya, the second is a big big game for us, with the point being that given our resources it shouldn't be!! If we don't win (and for the life of me I can't see us winning the way we're playing) then it could be a very interesting, hectic, mid season break on Shannonside.

*Not a pun about minefields in war torn African areas, I hate those things.

Being a (relatively) experienced LOI fan I just keep expecting us to blow up some time soon. We might well do so yet but I was quite convinced we'd be beaten away in Limerick and Waterford. Three wins from three against both teams is decidedly unexpected. Reaping the rewards of keeping the nucleus of a squad together for the last three years maybe.

Lim till i die
12/05/2012, 1:29 AM
If ye get a couple of key injuries ye'll die a death.

But there probably isn't a club in the country you wouldn't say the same about.

So luck comes into it. (which again it really, really, shouldn't!!)

So we're screwed. :)

Longfordian
12/05/2012, 1:43 AM
We'd die a relative death in that ye'd probably overtake us. I'd still back us with a 9 point head start on everyone else already. Our midfield this year is key, touch wood Kirbs, Salmon and a much more effective than last year Gillespie stay fit. Colly James missed out tonight, he's been excellent this year too.

Oh ya I was talking about the title in fairnes.

For a top two finish Longford are

In the race for the top two Waterford beat us twice and still find themselves seven points behind us, Athlone are neither here nor there (could beat us next week mind!), Wexford are poor and Harps are an absolute disaster. The sooner it settles into an SPL style shootout the better for all concerned.

Coloured is not politically correct. Black is perfectly fine to say, except in the States for some reason. Saying 'coloured' implies that there are two types of people: white people and non-white people. It's a bit silly if you think about it. Plus white is a colour so it's equally bogey from a scientific standpoint.

But they're not black either though. If you look closely they're actually very, very, very, very, very, dark brown [/terrible fr. ted joke]

Nah, thanks, I've learned something new for the day.

At 3am.

Which means I can spend all my Saturday scratching, nice one. :good:

Yes, now that I think of it though it doesn't matter a whole hell of a lot if you finish second or third, it's a one off game to play the Premier Division team isn't it? Lord knows what could happen in a one off, particularly if third place happens to be Athlone, "form goes out the window..blah blah.." We'll just have to try and make sure we go straight up!

Just an aside on the whole ebony and ivory and all in between debate. Aren't we all coloured? I mean, isn't white a colour? Last time I checked it was. I don't see the difficulty in saying somebody is this or that, I'd be far more offended if someone was to think I was from Kerry just because I'm white and Irish (albeit with only 11 toes and with unrelated parents).
