I think we can rule out winning the league on goal difference anyway.
dont see pats and especially bohs causing you much problems.
last game at home to ucd is it ?
hopefully you get a strong referee for that one - whats with all the red cards after 5 mins carry on at the moment?
you have lady luck on your side it would seem.

last game at home to ucd is it ?I hope you're right but I'm not confident of beating either Pat's or Bohs, we're playing great stuff but these next two games will be extremely tough, never really win in Richmond/Dalymount and I don't think picking up draws will be good enough to win league at this stage. Hopefully I'm just being pessimistic as usual.
UCD at home final game yeah.

Rovers will pick up 13points from their remaining 5games. anything else will be an upset.
Agree with Sligoman. To be fair to Dundalk their hopes died with the red card. I was standing behind the goals and I thought it was harsh to be honest. Blinkhorn went over easily enough.
We are playing great stuff but much sterner tests lie ahead with Pats and Bohs.

Three questions:
Do they both miss Wexford or Mervue??
Could straight red fella be looking at more than one game??
Which ones the good Brennan?? (besides Killian lulz)
Not much else we can do at this stage, Bohs please please please get something from tomorrow night.
we will do our best. On the condition that you let us win the FAI Cup semi.
I would even throw in a free roll over when you come to play us in the League.

Red card all day. Should have had a penalty about 5 mins after too, clear handball.
We are an absolute joy to watch, hope Bohs do us a favour now.

Interesting game actually. Ye've been much better than us the last couple of years obviously, but we're on five wins in seven now, the new players are starting to have an effect and people are playing for a place in next year's squad really. I still reckon ye'll win that one, but it mightn't be the gimme it was earlier in the year.
Dundalk are in freefall though - no wins in ten games, including a draw against Galway. We might even catch them ourselves, and then it's just a case of Bohs going bust and we're in the Setanta again. :)

disaster...
06:50pm We're into injury time
06:50pm There was no need to book Downes for that. Letter of the law says a booking. However if you want to apply the letter of the law consistently then Twigg would have been sent off earlier for a two footed tackle.
06:49pm Boccer booked for protesting
06:49pm Inches away from 1-1 and 11 v 11. Now it's 0-1 and 10 v 11
06:49pm Oh no. What a disaster. Brennan hits the inside of the post. It breaks out and Downes hits the deck. The ref books him for a second time. Diving he says. He's off
06:48pm Brennan stands over it.
06:48pm Downes bundled over on the left edge of the area. Brilliant position for Bohs. 19 yards out. Maybe 4 yards left of centre.

Turner should have got a red there. Nowhere near the ball.

05/10/2011, 8:41 PM
That was poor. It's exactly what happens when you leave out your best players against your closest rivals and then take your main striker off at half time. Complete arrogance and it got punished accordingly. Soft sending off for Downes but he probably should have been gone for those two wretched challenges anyway.

Great result for Bohs, created very little throughout the game which makes it even sweeter. Although should never have been a red and Shams got away without a sending off when there was a few bad tackles.
We better win Saturday to keep the pressure on.
Sligo's to lose now IMO ;)

We don't do things the easy way...should of won by at least three but got complacent.... as for the Bohs fans reaction at the end, you'd swear they'd won the league, understandable but actually kinda sad that is now for them the highlight of their season... anyway the choice of music in Tallaght tonight said it all " we'll meet again don't know where don't know when...." guess as a club they've now moved to a place where they are to be more pitied than anything else so enjoy your LSL or Div one tour next season and wonder how long you'll live off the memory of one point in Tallaght from 18 before you get a chance to play there again...cheerio
ps and yes you are going bust and we'll be having a party with our millions

I wouldnt get too smug. Just remember yourselves as a club were there at one point, came back stronger than ever. I'm no lover of Bohs to say the least, but 'd never write them off

It is still Sham's to win but they reminded me of some of our complacent second halves in recent seasons when we squandered similar leads in similar ways.

Not being smug... just telling it like it is, they enjoyed our tough years and some of their supporters were ignorant enough about it and enjoyed gloating I've not interest in that...my point is that their reaction tonight really summed up how far they have allowed themselves to fall... and at a risk of being accused of smugness I firmly believe they don't have a membership that has the capability of organising themselves to get out of their problems anytime in the next number of years... IMO they are (regretfully) going to 'die' slowly and that's why i feel a certain amount of pity for their 'decent' fan/s

I thought he was injuring than injured against, I must just lack the acuity that wearing green and white hoops grant.
sorry Calcio Jack but do you not remember the scenes when Shams rescued a draw against us earlier in the season (third game)? It easily matched the reaction of the Bohs fans tonight. In fairness, its always nice to come from a goal down with 10 men against your arch-enemies!
The rest of your post just shows how ****ed off you are at not winning tonight. Thanks for that!

Delighted Bohs pulled that out of the fire -- fair play to Cronin, he put in some shift, grafted the whole night. Fair play to Nutsy, the subs worked, admittedly Shams simply went into second gear and were sucker punch.
Two big games for Sligo Rovers v Bohs, league and cup. If we would the league, I wouldn't be devastated if Bohs got the Cup -- particularly considering their finances.
League is wide open -- Shams, Sligo and/or Derry could conceivably take the title.
Still, and all, would love to pull of the double:]

Great result for us , had to enjoy the fact that shams fans were bleating on their forum about us playing against teams that have players sent off so much recently , then they go and fail to beat a team down to ten men themselves :)

Is it me or were there a lot more Bohs fans there tonight than there were first time around? It looked like a very good turnout considering kick-off was at an awkward time. Like I said, can't begrudge them a result they earned. Bohs fans should be livid with SRFC Agent Downes though.

As stated on Setanta...the second yellow could just as easily being a peno (depending on the ref etc)...Hopefully that game will be Bohs cup final! Again, well done Bohs, I thought Shams were very cynical see the cut of McCabe/Rice doubling up on Brennan and as for Turner...pure evil.

It was a pure dive. Billy went down easily but Burns did make enough contact to knock him off his stride, though he could still have stayed on his feet. Downes clocked Paterson a few minutes before he got his first yellow, and probably would have been booked if it hadn't been so early in the game. I reckon the ref was just fed up with him by the time of the dive. In any case, going down to 10 men seemed to inspire a great performance in Bohs. I don't understand why Flood didn't start up top in the first place - he destroyed the Rovers defence in the first game at Dalymount and did much the same in the second half tonight. I don't know if he just lifts his game against Rovers but he is a joy to watch at times.
edit: a joy in the objective sense, not the "he's scoring against my team again" sense.

Of course I'm annoyed that we threw away 2 points.... but my comments/opinions re the state of your club have nothing to do with the result, I felt that way before the match , the bottom line is whether we win or lose out on the league this for us will be a hugely succesful season in terms of our upward progress in terms of structures etc. We have a clear long term plan to embed purselves in the community, maintain 3000 plus season ticket holders, remain financially viable, put in place underage coaching/training/coaching facilities and remain compeditive on the pitch... my point is that your fans of course enjoyed last night's result as in comparison to us you IMO have little to look forward to.
Like it or not we went through some dreaful years when our club was almost destroyed by some serious off field mis-management, we the fans have wrested control back and IMO albeit as an outsider I don't think Bohs fans are going to be able to do that and therefore your club is in serious danger of becoming defunct of at best marginalised..... I know what's it's like to have that concern for my club and believe you me I wouldn't wish that sceanario on any genuine fan which I've no doubt you are... anyway hope you do us a favour and play like that against both Sligo and Derry.

I thought Tomney was having a great game up until he sent the Bohs player off. When players and managers are trying to get the opposition booked and sent off at every opportunity the ref has no chance. Bohs did deserve a point they battled hard, Rovers created alot of their own problems last night.
Its all still in the mix and will probably go to the last day with 3 teams in with a shout.

Not the most professional of 2nd half displays from the Champions last night.
we had our foot on their throat and MON took it off lest we got a strain.
As for boez celebrating like it was the league won.....thats exactly how we would be in their situation, god forbid.
Squeaky bum time.
