I saw Barry Epstein amongst all that. Shame he wasn't a popstar or even existed in any meaningful way.

Strangely, I considered both words, but never thought of putting them together! How do you know this stuff?!!
Part man, part sponge. Couldn't tell you what I had for dinner yesterday, but useless trivia - that's permanently absorbed. Mrs Grise is a nurse, maybe she mentioned it one day.
Sheepish Britney Spears - not a notion. I'll need help with this one.

Oops, she did it again. Sadly the shears didn't knock any sense into her. However, fans of this massive sandbox game find them particularly useful. (10)

I imagine it might be a slight bit easier if you included the correct number of letters.

Dammit, yes, it's 9 letters. My mistake. I'm not very good at this after all.

I could really humiliate you now if I knew the answer. But I don't.
I thought it was Llamatron. Still might be if Nigel messed up the ordering. :)

If tets doesn't defibrillate this in the next day or two, I'm going to start over with a new clue. The only thing I could come up with to answer the clue was hopscotch....which isn't 4,6.

Forty two is six times this, strangely. (4)
Ha, was quite a while trying to work it out before I remembered and cottoned on, Stu, satisfyingly devious!
Nine of these, twisted, might be all that. (5,2)
Was happy with that clue too. So much for the handy one to ease back into it! :D
Nine of these, twisted, might be all that. (5,2): S _ _ _ _ / _ P
Genuinely didn't think it was that tricky, perhaps there's just not been many in here in the last week and I'm talking to meself. :D
Will add the letters which will more or less give the answer away tomorrow, in the meantime a hint: it's a bit of a combination clue, the starting point being what there's often said to to be nine of!
Nine of these, twisted, might be all that. (5,2): S H _ _ K / _ P
Nine of these, twisted, might be all that. (5,2): S H O O K / _ P
Good luck!

Dom Perignon's champagne house might point to a dangerous monarch? (6, 5)
Never knew the monkish connection so was never going to get it until there were lots of letters!
Don Perignon may well be a favourite of this turbulent priest. (6,4,7)
Edit: Feck.. wandered off in the middle and Stu sneaked in.
