What are Monaghan thinking?!!!! We had a lucky escape a couple of seasons back when Irish 'Sheiks' wanted to take us over......only stumbling block was they wanted to bring their mate Roddy in as manager.....thankfully we politely showed them where the gate was!

Luckily for Roddy there is no relegation from the First Division this season

Still, sadly for Monaghan only Roddy could possibly find a way round that

I've never had a bad word to say about those who put their whole lives into running the club, but have to wonder have they completely lost their marbles?...

It might raise the profile of the club anyways. I hope it works out in some way for the Mon's apart from stopping the three Munster teams gaining promotion.

I'm delighted, rules Mons out of the promotion race now.

That said, I do feel sorry for Mons fans.

Wonder if that Maltese team are still suing him for breach of contract? It'l be interesting anyway

You hope for an awful lot of things, you know that? Don't think realism figures much in your posts at all.

Anyways, I reckon this'll work out something like Father Dougal and that funeral.

What kind of roasters run Monaghan? It will be interesting to see what happens with them this year.

Class, brilliant see the great man back in the hotseat.
On the downside his appearances on MNS and his adult movies will be less frequent.

Sincere condolences to all involved with Monaghan - first the mess over the licences, and then this.

I can't understand this appointment to be honest. Monaghan are one of the best run clubs in the country, and they allow Roddy to take over. How long do we hear about some friend of his investing in the club?

It will end in tears, both for Roddy (again!!!) and Monaghan.

I think I've hit my head and woken up in a universe where everything involving Monaghan United is absolutely mental.

... fasten your safety belts all you Mons, cos you are about to enter the Twilight zone  Never a dull moment with the Rodster on board. While he has been known to wax lyrically about the Double he won at Bohs he declines to mention the SIX times he resigned that season ! and that with a team doing well. To this day he is liked/hated in almost equal proportions among Bohs fans (difficult to find anyone that does not have a view though)

It probobly will end up in tears (it usually does with Roddy) but it will be one hell of a journey getting there .

will ya settle children yad swear we hired gadaffi or something firstly the budget and team are set in stone roddy will either win or will lose and will stay for the season or go early doors either way he can be replaced ,Monaghan cannot be sold or bought .allready he has created a stir around the town and hopefully he can help with our attendances (if only for the rubbernecks waiting to see the carcrash). but every season the mons are write of as also rans so lets see how it pans out.

P.S. anyone know a good tailor

People say to me “am I mad giving up RTE to go and work in the First Division”

What Roddy said - one good thing about him getting the Mons job is that we don't have to watch him on MNS every second week. So a big thank you to Monaghan for that.

Can't wait to see Roddy's sartorial experimentation while at Mons, I for one will be hoping he goes country gent and invests in full tweeds.
