Common sense says that no organisation can continue indefinitely with an increasing debt burden every year. You don't need to dust off your rocket science degree to understand that.
So maybe some day we can have a discussion around these sorts of issues at ANY club without the usual patheticly juvenile "Ugghhh, you's are all jealous" (in a mongo type voice) crap that idiots defensively post in response.
Though knowing this site, sadly that day won't be arriving soon..

Are you for real? Look back on the Istreali thread, or the Juventus one, or the many tallaght threads. There are peple who hate Rovers, but most don't. Fans of most clubs feel everyone is against them when its clearly not the case

Is this thread still running? This whole thread is based on a wishy-washy article printed in a wishy-washy rag. Indeed a wishy-washy rag that everybody on here knows is a completely anti-LOI 'publication'. In the best couple of weeks in the brightest period of Rovers' recent history this rag still feels it should throw that article out there. And unfortunately some people on here jumped right on it and made it into something that it's not, i.e. news! Surely this thread has run its' course, particularly as it has gone down the road of most other threads regarding Rovers.

Well, no, it's not. It's based on Rovers' balance sheet, as posted earlier in the thread. Yes, that mayn't tell you enough to make judgement calls on, but it's at least more solid information than a random newspaper article.

Is it jelousy or bitterness when shams (or anyone) slag off Bohs ? jealous of what exactly ? 20 odd years on the road (and still renting) or no throphies for much the same period ? where were you when shams were telling all and sundry that they knew more about Bohs than our members (and invariably wrong) ?
Bohs MAY be going down the toilet but you forget shams WENT down the toilet and no amount of rewriting history will change that.
"fans slag off opposition on message board" - shock, horror, gasp whatever next

Invariably wrong? You know quite well we've been right all along about what you're board we're doing but you all just buried you're heads up your collective arses and denied everything. Tony Maguire was a disgrace as our Chairman, leaving small businesses without payment etc. But we stopped funding the club, forcing him and his cohorts out, and started from scratch again. Your members will be asked once again to fund the idiots in charge of your club and once again the sheep will obey through fear, instead of facing facts. The fact that we 'went down the toilet' and are back at the top again is surely something to be proud of, so who wants to rewrite history? And as members we'll have the balls to ensure the club never goes back to the dark days under the previous board. Ps, the jealousy and bitterness does exist from you, whatever you say on here, because of where both our clubs are going. Nothing to do with 'history'. Btw, glad to see Sundays hiding is still fresh on your mind :D

Whatever about the timing of the article, and I'm cynical enough to at least accept that the timing could be malicious, the accounts are there for all to see. As someone who most definitely supports the ownership model that Rovers (and others have), and who's been generally appreciative of what Rovers have been trying to do to cement their place in the community in Tallaght, it's concerning to see losses apparently racking up. Obviously, CRO accounts don't give the full picture, but they do give an indication. It would be disappointing if Rovers weren't being especially prudent (given their, and the leagues history) and operating on a break even basis.

Fenlon STILL at Dundee ? bohs bankrupt/relegated/not receive League throphy last season ? All "exclusives" (among others) from the shams inside track and all rubbish.
As regards your fans "revolt" against the "old board" when did it happen ? you waited until you were bankrupt and relegated - great foresight from the sham masses (ask your creditors about shams business accumen). A couple of years on and the "new world order" at Tallaght is running inceasing deficits on vertually no tangible asset base, still renting a ground and have won SFA in decades. So much to be proud of indeed :o keep burying your head.
PS I can get over the result Sunday if we go on and win the League - much like we did after losing at SDCC ground last season  jealous ? of what ? no ground ? no throphy ? dont make me laugh.

So now you clowns want to write our posts as well ? (an inside source at Dalymount told me you are going to post.......). Actually talking more about shams on this thread than defending Bohs - as you know critising the rent boys is never allowed (we are all ABShams apparently). not been smart but seriously are rovers supporters re-writing history ..i mean thats not how i remember events
The only reason Fenlon isn't at Dundee is because your board decided not to let him go. Nothing wrong with that. But the info that he wanted to go wasn't wrong. Ask Roddy Collins why he couldn't get money for players, and that was long before relegation so you're wrong there again. And again I say it, if you want to use the word jealous, then I've no doubt you most definately are. I'm very proud to be part of a group who've done what has to be done. I'd love to be able to show you this year's figures but unlike your club, we've no leaks. Hope for your player's wages' sake that Tommy Allen sold a lot more medicines this week :pirate:

You're embarrassing yourself because you can't get over Sunday's humiliation. However FAI cover up/Tippex is hilarious. You've obviously forgotten that Bohs cheated the 65% for every week bar the last one last season. What I always find funny as well regarding the ground situation is that Bohs fans either don't know or choose to ignore how they were handed Dalymount themselves. I was shown a copy of a post yesterday taken from the Bohs forum from a genuine bloke trying to help his club out by continuing to tell the truth. Apparently it's not the first time and he's always been treated with disdain. It's sad to see someone like that go to bat for a shower of total fools. :disappointed:

No, I want you to keep roofjumping. On the ground, considering you lot keep saying we got a ground 'handed to us', why don't you tell the good people on here how Bohs came to own Dalymount? On the post, that was my point! It's sad from a Bohs perspective that so few people had the courage to stand up to Conway. On the game on Sunday, all you're bitching all week is because you can't get over it and you're club is dying a death. Have to say though you do make the odd funny comments like Bohs broke no rules. It's all in the past though, what counts is the future. Well for us anyway.

You are wrong there passerby, the 400 club in effect forced the club into administration by refusing the hand over any more of the susbscriptions until certain questions were answered and assurances given.
These answers etc were promised but never came ...
In the meantime the subs kept rolling in and thats where the 250,000 ish used to buy half the club along with Ray Wilson came from!
I really like how mb doesn't address a single point of hoopy's and that passerrby added "in fact" to no fact whatsoever :)
And I like the fact that there has been no attempt to explain how these losses came about from any of the Rovers fans.
Sometimes it seems that the Bohs/Rovers default bickering is a convenient cover for both to avoid actually discussing issues about their clubs.

is that not the same as saying the bank forced you into administration as it would not give the club any more money. although i do agree the 400 club was a great lifeline and a welcome addition to the club. my point was that the circumstances were not of your making but were a result of poor management. the fact that the 400 club was waiting in the wings to take over after the disaster was not a buisness plan. as for the stadium i dont think that was anything to to with forward planning but as i said falling into **** and coming out smelling of roses.

Not quite, the 400 club was funding Rovers in 2003 and 2004. During that time Maguire (former chairman) was promising the deals to fund Tallaght were nearly there. After 18 months of listening to his ******ology the 400 club realised he was nothing but a bull**** artist screwing the club. At the end of the 2004 season the 400 club stopped funding SRFC in an effort to force the then board out. It also held meetings with the FAI and blew the whistle on the dodgy accounts the Maguire board had submitted. Without the continued funding from the 400 club SRFC was in grave trouble and Maguire had no option but to put the club into examinership (on 400 club advice) in April 2005. As soon as an examiner was put in place the 400 club took control and ran the club. Examinership lasted 3 months during which time the 400 club had to pay the players over inflated salaries which the Maguire board had sanctioned. These 3 months of examinership drained most of the funds the 400 club had leaving only about 250k to buy the club and pay off creditors which wouldn't have been enough. The 400 club teamed up with Ray Wilson in a 50 50 partnership and the rest they say is history. All in all the 400 club would have pumped close to €1 million into SRFC up to the end of 2005.

Probably shouldn't be posting this here but I don't see why it would be top secret.
As each year passes and the members club (formerly 400 club) keeps investing more money into SRFC, Ray's shareholding dilutes until eventually the members club will have 100% ownership of SRFC.
Mario
12/08/2010, 10:14 PM
Regular member, his original 50% share holding has been diluted over time as the members monthly subs keep rolling in. He said all along that he didnt put the money in as an "investment" but just to help save the club he loves.

To suggest that MON is somehow the "start of a new breed of more prudent manager" because he spends less than Nutsy Fenlon is sanctimonious nonsense. The vast majority of managers in thie league operate to very tight budgets and in a lot of cases have been doing so for years.
Lets not over egg the pudding. ;)
If Rovers do win the league this year, or if Pats do, then for the first time in years and years we'll have a Championship winning side built on a sustainable budget. That does suggest a certain shift from recent years if it does happen.

Yes. Even if you take that as gospel, which I certainly wouldn't by any means, the debt incurred is nothing like what Shels, Drogheda, Cork and Bohs have run up to. I have no idea what Pats financial sitaution is, but judging by the cutbacks made to their squad this year, I'd presume it's a manageable budget.
