watched Shelbourne V summerville, I had seen same match in portland early in season, big changes in shelbourne team, very disappointing result as a win would have had them right in there, summerville fighting for survival battled for everything, from the other results looks as if their fate in own hands now, wouldn't rule shelbourne out yet still a few twists and turns, well done to Hill celtic if some of the top half of the table teams showed the same committment it would be a much closer run in.
hill have got a lot better in therte last few games better than losing by 8 or 10 anyway good game today wit the ref havin good game aswell

Wild Forest. I am involved with Summerville and I don,t know how your team is where it is in the table,I found your team to be very tough every time we met.Obviously I want to avoid the drop, but I still wish you the best of luck.

cheers bald eagle its just a disgrace really played with this club for years it stems from everywhere lads not training and then expecting to be started come sun and wonder why people are questioning them we lost two players last week due to lads not turning up for training im not going to pack it in and at least i and another few of us can hold our heads up high and say we didnt give up but in all honesty we do deserve to be where we are because alot of lads dont give a ???? about the club .. so hopefully we can start from afresh next season..

thats bad form. there is the making of a descent team above there lad with some grand fellas.i had a few with me for awhile and they were spot on with effort and commitment bar one.how yee fixed in league.
hill celtic have just got one win all year you dont see them on ere crying nd cribbing. when teams wer beating them by 8 nd 10 they still showed up wit the bear amount how hard must it of been for them lads conceding nearly 90 goals at least there given the final half a good go well done lads

Well done Hill Celtic.ye stuck in there when the easy option was to just pack it in and now we all hope ye can get a good squad together for next season and give 2B a right crack.

that same one would be one of the same culprits up here for the commitment issue which has ****ed off alot of the lads that want whats best for here as for staying up it looks like we have to win the remaining games and hope that summerville slip up ...

Im involved with summerville and I can guarantee we will be going all out in every game we play for the rest of the season firstly we need the points and secondly its only fair on the teams in contention for promotion and fighting for survival, missing out on something because a team pulls up the hand break with a few games left is a disgrace.

As I said in my previous post we need the points,Clearly we need those points to stay in the division my main reason for the post was to emphasise the importance of remaining competitive in the last few games which are crucial at both ends of the table.

They will find it way harder next season in 1B. some very good teams in 1B and they certainly won't run away with it. But I would still fancy them them to push for yet another promotion

Agree they will find it tougher but every year teams have said they would find it tough in the division above and they haven't really. They have improved their squad with every move up the divisions. 1B will be tough but still fancy them again next year. The difference between the top teams in most divisions (1B down) is minimal.

I think once you get to 1B and 1A the standard of football and teams is much better than 2A downwards. That's my opinion anyway. If you have a half decent team who is committed and has decent fitness levels you will move up the lower divisions without much difficulty, i.e. Caherconlish, Moyross etc

will disagree with that, any of the top two or three teams in the lower divisions (2a down) would give 90% of the teams above in 1A or 1B a good game and probably beat them, teams like Moyross, Kennedy Park, Kilmallock, Hyde and Lisnagry. We have played teams from those so called higher divisions and have not been out of place, some players want to help their teams move up the divisions and it may take a few seasons but they are willing to be patient whereas other players will switch from team to team depending on their mood each year. A player who stays with his club to help them achieve this is to be commended

I would agree that on their day, in a cup match, that these teams you mentioned would give teams in 1A and 1B a good game, but this is just one game and you are talking about a cup game. League matches are totally different. I guarantee you that any of the teams you mentioned above would badly struggle in 1A or 1B. It's easy to motivate lower league teams against the higher league teams whereas its harder to motivate higher league teams against the lower league teams, hence why you see a lot of shocks in the cups. 22 games in 1A is a totally different story

Can see what your saying but looking at the two higher divisions we spoke about((1a &1b) the standard is very poor apart from the top two or three teams in these divisions,as for playing over 22 games that would make no difference, can you hand on heart say apart from the top few teams say that the standard is good this year

The standard in 1A & 1B this season is better than last season. You have a team from 1A in the quarters of the Munster Junior and in the Lawson you have Caherdavin and Knockainey in the quarters of the Lawson for example. Not only that but at present 6 teams are in contention for promotion in 1B, 6 teams that could easily handle playing in 1A. As for 1A this season, the top 2 teams have been excellent, far better than Shannon Town and Star were last season, and also Croom have been very good. Even us (Charleville) have improved immensely. I think the standard of 2A this season has been very poor compared to recent years

Woeful bad? As in compared to the Premier? Where 2 teams fight it out for the league (Pike and Fairview), and everyone else fights against relegation! I've seen a good few Premier games over the years and it's getting worse every year

to be honest i didnt see alot of star or shannon last yr, but i agree wembley are too strong for 1a this yr, they should be commended for keepin hold of there squad this season, but they shouldnt have really gone down last yr, they were done as we were sville a couple of seasons back by teams pickin up nonsense results from teams high up the league, i remember granville pickin up i think 15 points in there last 6 games, beatin the likes of fairview, regional and janesboro

I was playin for Caherdavin last season and we came so close to promotion, ended up finishing 3rd. We were devastated, especially now when you see Shannon Town doing so poorly, I honestly think Caherdavin would've won a few games in the Premier at least (at home anyway). Ya I know what you mean about end of season games, it happens every year in the Premier, sure Corbally have survived the last 2 season by beating teams with nothing to play for. It's very hard to take. It's gonna be very tough for Summerville next season but in my opinion they are better equipped than Shannon Town or Star were this season

We played last Sunday and won 4-3. Not sure how you missed that!
Two more games to go, I'm sure we'll be back on the fixtures list this week.
