Never understood the point of jambons. Never had a nice one.

Good old fashioned bowl of corn flakes with sultanas for me. And off for a couple of slices of toast now. :)

BLASPHEMY!

(Although 2 jambons is just bizarre. A jambon and a sausage roll, now I get that, but two jambons? That's just insane!)

Ok, I get up for work at 8.30, shower and out the door, start work at 9 so no time for brecky at home. Work canteen serves either cereal with warm milk or greasy sausages, or Jambons. I went for the Jambon thismorning.

Yeah, ten stone is heart attack material right there.

Also, pedantics, but I don't think the first post on a "What did you eat last?" thread should refer solely to a mango smoothie. That's a drink, FFS.

Homemade (by me!) treacle soda bread, with homemade (also by me) vegetable stew. That was for breakfast, and as I forgot to 'homemake' a sandwich for lunch, and refuse to pay upwards of 4 euros for a packed sandwich, I'll be hungry until I get home.

I was disgusted that people pay that!

"Intriqued"? Is that word play the pronunciation of "treacle" or a typo?

Anyway, it's soda bread made with white flour only in the usual way, except you mix in 2-3 spoons of heated (to make it runny and easily mixed) treacle to the buttermilk before adding to the dry ingredients. It was the first time i've made it, and it didn't really have enough treacle in it to make a difference to the taste, though the colour was nice.

dahamsta
20/04/2010, 4:04 PM
Typo. Hmmmm, I may be asking mrsdahamsta to experiment in a slightly different way to usual...

(She makes a mean banana bread. She usually has to make 3 or 4 so we've some left for ourselves.)

osarusan
20/04/2010, 4:10 PM
I'd say her marrying somebody with the surname Dahamsta was enough of an experiment. You shouldn't push your luck with treacle bread on top of that.

Sandwich mixto con huevo.

A bit like like a toasted ham and cheese sandwich but the ham isn't cooked and the cheese is only melted a bit. Also has a fried egg thrown in for good measure. It's really good.
