And Brian McCarthy too I see. Though if they agree deals they can start training with their new clubs straight away. Our pre-season training hasn't started yet I believe.
Hopefully Shanahan will be on board for the season.

Yeah I saw that elsewhere. He and Clarke may have been with the under 20s last season.

Marty If you are at training please only report on who has actually signed for us, not those training with us or looking for a contract as it may alert other clubs to what we are doing player wise. Since most players I would say may be in contact with 3/4 clubs better to wait till they actually sign as Town players before releasing the info.

Things are looking a lot better player wise this year and it does seem as we have a better quality of player compared to the previous 2 seasons so maybe things are looking up.

Longfordian

It wouldn't make too much difference everyone knows who's available at this stage as the players themselves will be making contact with clubs as will the PFAI. They won't have to come looking on here.

what difference does it make? the clubs aren't going to look at bloody forums to find whos there... if they are genuinely interested, they'll send someone to see. Simple.

Yes, a lot of your more forward-thinking managers have actually stopped using the Longford Town section on foot.ie as a scouting tool.....

Whats the reason that you can't just say on here?

because I dont know whether I am doing right or wrong .. Its says in the papers that visitors welcome but it mentions no time.. I dont know if there is a reason for not publishing the times but out of respect for the manager I do know the times on saturday but anyone interested just send me a pm and they can post it if they like as they wont get in trouble for it once I let them know...
I am covering my own back as I have brought to task for things that I have posted in the past about the club that I care about .. I am not goin to get caught again as there is people out there who want to hang me so they are not getting the opportunity now..

I am going to talk to TC and PC at the training session on saturday and get some information from them about who the players are... and find out whos definitely signed.. PC was a great help to me last season when I went to the one in Ballymahon.. Its of great help to when the season starts you know the player quicker than having to see him a few times to get the face registered when the new season starts..

I'm sure it's just an error that the time wasn't mentioned or the person doing the notes didn't know the time themselves. It's not like they're inviting supporters to train with them!. If people weren't welcome it wouldn't be mentioned at all.

I can't see what difference it makes posting here - the clubs know full well who's training with who etc (normally from the players touting themselves around) - you keep posting away Marty.

Some people just want everything to be secretative and behind closed doors, rather than open and transaparent, regardless of subject... :D

I am just posting up the latest update from the town PRO text he sent me: Training is at 11 to 1 tomorrow.

I also saw on Sligo Rovers forum here that Jay McCartney is training with them.

http://foot.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=130530&page=3

Im delighted to announce Chris Turner is training in Strandhill with Rvs this morning. Along with Jay McCartney and a new striker from Liverpool. No Butler or Ryan... About 15 training in total. Training very hard in bad conditions but great facilities at Strand Celtics ground!

there were 17 players training today in thick fog.. There were a few trialists there -some ex shels player from mountmellick and a craig someone who plays for the Ireland University side..Mick Lee would have being training only that he was sick... Justin Perrin from the under 20s was there too..

the players who have gone to other clubs are Jay McCartney to Sligo Rovers and Liam Lynch to Ballinsloe Town. The only players from last seasons squad were Aaron Shanahan, Daisy and Kevin Cronin.. We look like a much taller squad than last season..

I spoke to Philip Coffey and he told me the only friendly planned is against Shamrock Rovers in Flansiro.. We also spoke to the new goalkeeper coach ( Dont know his name) but he was involved with Shamrock Rovers last season on their backroom staff. He was ravin about young Conlon challenging Shanahan for the number one spot for next season... Any Shamrock Rovers know who he is as he knows the new goalie..

heard the cork game might be in doubt because the leinster senior cup is back this year afrter bout 8 years off, we were drawn against sporting fingal and its date is still to be confirmed, obviously around the time we were plannin to play cork

also heard from a commitee member that we will be training in leixlip this year
