Shades of Little Dragon about that one Bonnie. Not bad at all, it's got a groove to it. I struggle with most electronica based music, but finding myself with one of those "I like it but I'm not sure why" feelings.
I know exactly what you're saying. As soon as I heard the opening note of the synth yesterday my brain went "WANT"! As I have gotten older, my taste have certainly faded towards electronica, pop and house... it's bizarre.
In fact I'm going to listen to it again John Peel style.
I was wracking my brain for an example of a song that affected me like this has; the way it has arrested me in its tracks and pretty much overtaken me with its existence and it's probably "Peach, Plum, Pear" by Joanna Newsom:

Saw her a few months ago in Sydney; I think she's just brilliant. Look out Sapokanikan, Time, as Symptom of Love, Have One on Me, and Waltz of the 101st Lightborne. She's a genius!

I have an assignment due at 6. So of course I will. :)
Joanna Newsom isn't on Spotify fully.

What a coincidence Nigel, before I went to bed last night I listened to E6 album Fire, one of my all time fav albums, hadn't listened to it fully in about 4 years :) God i love that band, seen them live in London, but i was kicked out early for over exuberant moshing early on so....i.e was phished on jagerbombs

Synthesiser is the anthem of anthems among a fang of us. Well played sir.
Miike Snow - have been a big fan since their 2009 album. If you are new to them, Animal is another great track to check out.

I saw them live in 08 in the Academy in Dublin. Had to leave early as I'd a bus to catch back to Athlone that night. Been meaning to catch them live ever since again. How they actually get away with most of the lyrical content of the songs is amazing in itself!

I never understood why Dylan is regarded so highly, I have listened to his songs but there is nothing special at all just standard middle of the road imo, maybe its just me.

Today, I'm releasing my own debut single from an EP I've coming up in a few weeks time.
All proceeds from the EP and a planned launch night are to go to the formation of a Pieta House service in Donegal which is badly lacking currently.
All music, instruments and voice done by myself and video and editing by myself.

This album and this song are up there with the greatest things ever released by an Irish band:

Great shout. Absolutely loved this album - one of those rare Irish albums where you could listen to every track.
Have you ever checked out any of Juniper's (Bellx1 plus Damien Rice) stuff? It wasn't great overall but The Weatherman was decent. Always found it strange that Rice went so folksy afterwards though.

I loved Juniper. They were kinda the first band that I "got into" as a proper teen then Damo ruined it. I always felt that they were gonna blow up. But I suppose I would settle for what we got.
See The Immediate and Conor O'Brien/Villagers for a similar scenario. I loved the Immediate. In Towers and Clouds is a cracker of an album.
On a trawl through the early '80s again over the last while (Getting more frequent, this. Concerning) and rediscovered this one, yet another that had its turn as favourite song ever.
'Tis still a gorgeous thing though...

Even as a band who were almost like Marmite for me since day one. Their performance at EP was something that will go to the grave with me. Definitely nudging the top-5 all-time gigs.
This song live though, has stayed me the way it never did before [much like Face to Face by Daft Punk]. Perfect. Resonates like few others ever have. And making this beyond manky Thursday bearable in this traffic.

Savage tune. Overplay LCD Soundsystem to the extent that the missus hates them.
The lyrics to this tune are fantastic. Written about his therapist or something I read somewhere.

Three years on from the remarkable performance on Letterman and it's release, I've fallen back in love with this song. New stuff is great, but good Jesus this is still some whopper of a tune.
I recently started to hear a weird synthy bass in the background that I never heard before and it just re-hooked me. Remarkable piece of work.

The ticket prices first the Dublin gig are scandalous.
I've seen them plenty in some tiny venues and in some special places. So i won't be too disheartened.
Their second album, "In Evening Air" is a thing of beauty. Get all over it.
Also, Beach Foam from their first album is a stonker live.
