Fantastic song by a fantastic band. The natural successors to 60's psychedelic rock.

There's very few songs out there that I give such grá as much as I give to this one.

These guys are gonna be on Other Voices in a little while - they've released a couple of pretty good albums, hope they did themselves justice in Dingle

For whatever reason, this came into my head there... just blared the shiznit out of it on the stereo and it's still a remarkable recording.
Hard to believe it's been 10 years.

Followed it with this for no reason I had one of those moments where you just think of songs that make you feel "like that".

It seems like it's one of those nights...

I adore this song, especially the album version.
It's remarkable that it is preceded directly by the song below and succeeded by one of the most haunting reprises ("Reprise") I have ever experienced.

Altogether an album that goes down with the greats of all-time.

I first heard this on No Disco (http://foot.ie/threads/155415-No-Disco-(Help)) and it will forever remind me of Uaneen Fitz. RIP
Also still 12 years later still has that "hair standing on neck effect". Coupled with "Cedar Room" and "Reprise" you are talking about a remarkable 3-track run on an album.

For no reason what so ever my brain decided to want to hear this tune... there never has been a song before or since that has the effect that the driving rhythm of this song has on me... the pleasure of seeing this guy live on so many occasions just never quantifies what this song does to me.

Also dropping it at my mate's 21st in 2005 was quite something. Having a rake of 40-50 something's dancing about to French electronica is a sight I'll never forget! :)

What was Dublin gig like? They were great in Belfast. What did you think of that support band Toy?

BonnieShels
15/05/2012, 7:38 AM
Well... They started super early due to the Academy being a pox of a venue.
I only managed to see a sea within a sea and still life plus the encore.
There's been murder about it as it seems a lot of others were caught short too.

They were great though I have to say.

What time did it start? Faris did say that the Dublin crowd was dead on a couple of occasions but I though it was just the usual bravado

It started from what I gather before 9. A mate arrived at five to 9 and they were well on.
No wonder the crowd weren't up for it.

Does anyone remember RTÉ using the bassline of this track as their football coverage theme back around 1996?:

Always remembered it fondly from my youth but it had eluded me ever since. Came across it again today and it certainly evoked a keen sense of nostalgia.

Whilst in Seattle I came across EM Music in Capitol Hill which is a seriously impressive place altogether.
They had this 1.95 scuffed section and I tell ya what it was a treasure trove of stuff that I couldn't get here or had forgotten about in the fullness of time and life..

Amongst other things I managed to pick up Pull by Arcwelder. I remember being mildly obsessed a few years ago about trying to get this album and I couldn't find it anywhere and then I forgot about it and then... Perfect nick. 1.95. DONE!

Anyway for those of you of a certain vintage... cracking tune...

New video from Manchester band Amplifier. One of my favourite bands of the past few years, they've been on the go since the late 90's - early 00's and since discovering them about 3 years ago, I've not looked back. Just a shame there's not more bands like them.

Was just gonna come in to post a song by Purity Ring. Didn't realise I had already (Link fail!). I have listened to this album non-stop since I got it I think on the 25th. Unbelievable from these two kids from Montréal.
Album of the year no question. Cannot wait to see them live.
