I am delighted to announce that I will be going too after bit of gentle perusison from magicme:p Unfortunately as my cash flow is very tight I wont be drinking and will be drivin home straight after but I will be honoured to be in your presecence at my first ever foot.ie xmas party..:D
There's usually one in Dublin, despite the usual complaints of Foot.ie being Cork-centric. :)All the more reason to have it in Cork then.
I can feel a Shams style boycott from the Cork contingent. :D

Where's all the Dublin clubs' fans?

Well, the Cork forum is decimated these days, so I guess the bias must be obsolete at this stage. Plus of course these days the hue and cry is around the abundance of UCD mods. Perhaps they should be hosting us at one of those college parties I've heard so much about. :)
I won't make it (have a 40th to go to). However...

Have you tried Wynn's? Think it was reasonable enough last time I was there.

Despite the name, hostelbooker.com will search through hostels and hotels in Dublin and you can organise the results by location and price.

I dont see any of the UCD ones bar Dman having their names down. Stu has to come so that everyone can call him Michael McIntyre and we can try get people to ask for his autograph.

Tell the 40 yr old they are too old to have a party and you are going elsewhere! Yeah tried Wynns but like most places it was either booked out or over €100.

Thank you sir but did try them. Eventually went with a tried and trusted a bit out of the city so will be taxiing out to the Ardmore in Finglas.
€49 for the room makes it not so bad.
Are us exiled nordies welcome?

Tut tut tut.very disappointed in the sligo lads.. are you going to it Rory??
Combo breaker!
Anyhoo, won't make it unfortunately.. but what's the protocol with this? Does everyone wear a name tag with their handle on it? Do people sit at different tables discussing certain topics- maybe current affairs at table one, general LOI at table two, off topic nonsense at table three etc?
And who moderates if somebody is on the wind up or going off topic??
Honestly, if you want this to work you're going to need to be a lot more specific.

I've been at group meets where people wear nametags. I didn't. It was ridiculous.
The simplest way of doing it is to put something instantly recognisable on the table, so in Foot.ie's case it should be a football. Or flames.
MysticMon
03/12/2009, 1:33 PM
This may sound silly, but, someone could put a scarf of their team, on the table?????

Surely we'll be the only group of people in Dublin talking about LOI football?

Who is going? Does everyone who is going not know one of the other people that is going? I have met Holidaysong, ThisCharmingMan, Mysticmon (unfortunately :p) and Martinho before so I am ok. From my memory of the gin palace its not exactly crowded on a sat nite so we could be easily picked out. Maybe we should wear party hats! I like party hats.

I think we should get one person from each club there to dress in their club mascot gear. I nominate Mystic for Mons!
