is he the kid of your man from carlow managing in scandanavia someplace?? sorry for lack of info anybody know who i'm talking about??
you're thinking of Sandefjord manager Pat Walker - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Walker_(football_manager)
His sons Kevin - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Walker_(footballer) - and Robert - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Walker_(footballer) - have played in Sweden. Robert has played with the Swedish underage teams, but I'm not aware of any approach by the FAI

Sorry, I was just trying to help you out. Next time I won't bother. He's obviously not eligible because if you had taken the time to read the article, he's appeared for Denmark at the underage level numerous times.

that doesnt mean he is not eligible. Naughton and Noble are eligible though they have both represented England up to U21 level. They mightnt take advantage of the rules to declare for Ireland but it doesnt mean they arent eligible.

Don't be sorry man, just be careful.....:D

There's literally dozens of threads on here where the eligibility issue is explored and explained. A player can play all the way up to 21's and still be eligible for us.

There's another fella playing in Finland by the name of Patrick O'Shaughnessy (HJK Helsinki I think), add in the 2 Walker boys, possibly Delaney & Sean McDermott, the goal keeper that moved from IK Vag to Arsenal and Scandanavia is beginning to look like a place we should be looking to in the future for more sons of diaspora

Garvan, on as a sub, nets one for Ipswich to regain the lead against Blackpool

Owen Garvan finds the net with a goal direct from the free kick from just outside the penalty box to the bottom left corner of the goal. Blackpool 1-2 Ipswich.

Jay Tabb on for the last fifteen home to Liverpool, apparently he hasn't scored in any competition all season.

Apologies, you're right. Don't know how I got that one wrong. Reading are all over them and have looked like the better side for the entire match, unlucky not to win it in my opinion.

Just checked the Villa website and he's not listed in the first team or reserve team squads. I read somewhere he was going to America for surgery on his injured knee, but that was early last year.

James Collins(Welsh version) was given his squad number, 29, which isn't a good sign.

If it has happened that he has been released by Villa, then I hope he gets fixed up with a club soon as he looked to be a good prospect. I'd rather that scenario, then to hear of him retiring due to injury as he is only 22/23 years of age.

Billy Mehmet scored a hatrick for St Mirren in the Scottish Cup against Alloa this weekend.

I like the look of him as a player. Tall, strong, good in the air and generally a bit of a nuisance for defenders.

I doubt he will make any real progress now from the lower ranked teams in the SPL but good to see him bag a few anyhow.

he always gets himself 15ish goals in a season a decent mid to lower table spl player

Brilliant news for the young lad. Brave decision to leave England after Man City but seems to be working out well for him.

He could have a new strike partner. According to their website, Aris just nipped in ahead of Hull City to sign the American Freddy Adu from Benfica!

Very impressed with this move and how its working out, fair play to Ian and hope he becomes more of a trail blazer for others, Aris are 4th in the league, good form and the coach is Hector Cuper who I always thought was very good. The arrival of Freddy Adu will be good as well as there's another native English speaker for him, should make things even easier.

Interestingly, former Cork City striker partners Dave Mooney and Denis Behan (a peno) have scored in the same match, for Charlton and Hartlepool (respectively)

Tadgh Purcell got his first goal in English football for Stan's Darlington

Graham Kavanagh also has a goal in his Johnstone Paint Trophy tie with Leeds

Also, Given was brilliant tonight against Manchester United in the Carling Cup

Can't wait for Tadhg Purcell to score his first goal on Gillette Soccer Saturday. Tadhugg Pur-sell probably. Apparently there's some bloke called Sillian Sheridan playing for Plymouth. Not to mention that French guy Ree-shard Sadlee-ay who used to play for Millwall..

Don't even joke about that, its an issue very close to my heart!! I can't believe the amount of people who pronounce Cillian as an 'S', its ridiculous. I think Cilla Black has a lot to answer for, its all I can think of anyway!

Fabio O'Brien subbed off at the weekend (Valletta vs Qormi), the forum's in Malta are claiming he's on his final chance, club owner/backer/president wanted him to cheese off Floriana, but now he's not performing and they lost an international striker yesterday who refuses to play with Declan. All a bit mad.

Just like the misprounciation of Keltic, which pseudo-kelts pronounce - Sell-tic. People, we're not Kelts, never were, the Irish are Irish, English, Anglo-Norman, Viking, French, Spanish, the Scots are Irish, Picts, English and Anglo-Norman.

On topic, Foley is very highly rated in Belgium - this winter some German sides were sniffing around. How much longer will he have in Belgium?

Yep, remember him featuring in the US Nike Cup in 2000. I headed over for it and he was just coming on the scene then (think he might have scored actually in Boston). Then nothing..... He just seemed to disappear from the Irish International scene altogether after that.
