Daryl Murphy's move to Hull has fallen through after talks had broken down... Failing to agree terms, too much money? Jesus. Didn't think he'd be in a position to be that demanding.

He's not good enough for the Premiership. He should have taken the move to Ipswich. I guess he'd rather sit out the entire season and collect his fat paycheque. Can't say I blame him.

I'd say he's on serious enough money at Sunderland. Got a couple of renegotiations whilst under Keane... I reckon it was Keanes way of setting an example in terms of the merrits of adhering rigidly to the regime there, if you know what I mean.

Cut-price Steve Finnan wanted by Portsmouth (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2009/07/21/cut-price-steve-finnan-wanted-by-portsmouth-115875-21536235/)
Portsmouth are ready to bring Steve Finnan back to the Premier League and make him the cut-price replacement for £17m Glen Johnson.
Pompey, who are set to appoint Paul Hart as full-time boss, have approached right-back Finnan about coming home from a year-long stay with Spanish side Espanyol.
Finnan, 33, would love the chance of returning to England after his stay in La Liga proved frustrating, making just four starts in an injury-hit campaign.

I hope he sticks it out with Espanyol tbh, give it till January and see how it goes, if he doesn't get into the team by then or hasn't settled he can move to a team in Engerland.

Looks like Wolves have took a young lad called Jimmy Keohane on trial from Wexford Youths - Anyone know anything about him? 18 Years old who can play in midfield, or upfront. Was named as a sub in a development team friendly against Crewe - not sure if he came on or not though.

Scored for the Youths last week, Mick Wallace has been raving about him, seems to be a winger or striker, I haven't seen him yet myself but very quick and skillful from what I've heard.
Here's an extract from the match report by Brian de Salvo on that game against Finn Harps:
Youths appeared to be playing 4-3-3 but Jimmy Keohane was so mobile on the left if was hard to tell exactly what his role was. This is a player of immense potential, not least in his maturity for one so young. He missed a sitter in the opening minutes, heading wide from the edge of the six yard box when completely unmarked, and another twenty minutes later when Gary Sheahan’s pace on the right provided an unexpected opportunity only for young Keohane to miskick in front of goal. Such howlers might well have decimated the confidence of any inexperienced player but they took not a feather out of Keohane whose non stop contribution continued to catch the eye and was ultimately rewarded with a goal.

Birmingham agree deal for O'Shea
Birmingham City have agreed a fee with Irish club Galway United for Republic of Ireland Under-21 midfielder/striker James O'Shea.
The 20-year-old, who joined Galway in December 2007, was his side's top scorer last season with 10 goals and has six so far this season.
He has also won three Under-21 international caps.
The Dublin-born player will now travel to St Andrew's to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.
