His level is much better than that. He has actual quality why go to a team like Bolton? Come on some proper clubs put a bid in for Doyler.

I think the clubs are at Doyles level. People need to take off the green tinted glasses. Moves to either Sunderland, Fulham or West Ham would be a big step up for Kevin as they will be pushing for a top 10 finish with one eye on a unlikely European berth. Fulham are already in Europe. As for Bolton and Wolves, I think they struggle but will just have enough to stay up and kick on. Doyle is hardly the missing piece of the jigsaw for Everton. He isn't any better than Saha or Yakubu.

Just a very small piece in the Sunderland Echo about Robbie Keane.

Could be used as makeweight for a deal with Kenwyne Jones.

A load of rubbish if you ask me but I just thought I'd post it all the same.

Some news on two Cork Boyo's Miller and Delaney

I think the Irish national team are terrible in terms of players but Doyle is actually good, if he went to a team with good service he would score plenty of goals. Better option than Emile Heskey for Aston Villa anyway.

If he played for a national team that actually created chances, he'd have a great record too.

Villa have money after selling Gareth Barry to Man City, but they don't really need to strengthen up front, so this remains to be seen.

Ipswich will be the litmus test as regards Keane managerial ability. He hasn’t got buckets of money to spend like he had at Sunderland. The signing of Delaney is an example of this.

Bad move for him. Going sideways instead of forwards. I'd even prefer to see him at Celtic over West Brom though any Premiership club (even Burnley as has been touted in some circles) would be my preferred destination if not his.

Could possibly be a very good move for him working with Owen Coyle. Burnley have some good young players and Coyle thus far has been able to get the best out of them and has not been afraid to put his faith in their abilites. Negative side is he could find himself involved in a gruelling relegation battle.

Personally I would like to see it happen. Celtic (and the SPL in general) has proven to be a graveyard for young players with talent. He needs to move elsewhere if he wants to fufill his potential.

Anthony Gerrard, cousin off Stevie has joined Cardiff City from Walsall. A highly rated Centre-Back by all accounts.

He made a few appearances for us at underage level if I do rightly recall. Hes only 22 and we are light in options at the back.

Could be be one for the future???

He played a few times for the U-17s in friendlies. But, when it came to competitive games, he had to produce a valid Irish passport, and it turned out he didn't qualify for us.

o toole to shefield

Would be a good move for him. Another season in the Championship with a team that has a good chance of getting promoted.
I still wonder why Watford were so keen to loan him out in the middle of the season and now sell him to one of their rivals, if he was supposed to be one of their better players. Do they have cash problems?

Probably a bit harsh on the lad, but the one memory i have of him is coming on with a few mins to go away to Slovakia and having a large portion of the blame for their equaliser.

Very harsh Razor. It may be the case that the lad has found his level but before Leeds ever got relegated he looked like one of the few players keeping them up.

In the last two seasons he's been a very reliable performer for Leeds and this season gone he made numerous appearances in the divisions team of the month including consecutive months where Leeds were actually playing him as an emergency right-back.

Like dr_peepee I thought he'd get a championship club -but wish him well with Swindon.

I just think his level is league 1 or at the very most bottom of Championship. I could never understand how he was included in International squads.

I dunno. There was a perid when he was getting premier league football under Souness at Blackburn. He was a long term regular in the Leeds side that got to two playoffs in the Championship before the plummet. Limited player but he had a particular role to play in the middle, and I thought he wasn't too bad for Ireland.

I thought he did OK against the Czech Republic at home and was probably worthy of a place in the squad due to the dearth CMF players at Irelands disposal back then. Stephen Reid was injured, Whelan and Andrews weren't in the picture, Keane was retired, Miller was and still is crap, Delap wasn't wanted, Andy Reid was still seen as a winger and Kilbane and Ireland were overrun in the last game against Cyprus. It was difficult to know what Staunton's logic was at times but I would say after the humiliation in Cyprus he just wanted us not to lose or at least put up more of a fight. So he put Carsley and Douglas in the middle. This is why Souness was also fond of him, because he was one of the few players in the Blackburn squad with some fight in him.
In the end his fight didn't make up for the lack of skill and he dropped a division.

Actually I reckon he could still do a job for a few of the lower EPL clubs. That being when they are having a surprise result against a so-called bigger team he would be a good player to put on in the last 15 mins or so to shore up the midfield and hold onto what they have . However that would mean very little playing time, which is probably not what he wants at this stage of his career.

Lets hope that Tracey at Blackburn doesn't stat dropping through the divisions like him.
